From I-20 midway between Atlanta and Augusta, take Exit 130, GA-44 W 5 miles to Carey Station Road. Turn right on Carey Station Road and travel 5.1 miles to the campground on the left.
From the north take US-129 S/US-441 S/GA-15 S. Turn left onto GA-12W/US-278 W/W Broad St for 3 miles, Turn right onto Carey Station Road for 2.7 miles to the campground on your right.
From the south take GA-44 E to Carey Station Road, turn left on Carey Station Road 5.1 miles on the left.

August is among us!
It is crazy to see how fast this season is flying by! Before you know it, the leaves are going to start falling to the ground! This month is jam packed with fun, so make sure to make your reservations, if you haven’t already. With activities booming, this month has lots of never seen before themes. First up, we have a Potluck and Talent show. Followed by, our Western Weekend. Next, is our Fundraising Weekend… I’ll give you a hint: they will be bringing something that is furry and says “woof”!! Last, we have our End of Summer/Back to School Bash, which will feature this years Member Build!
This year for our Member Build, we really wanted to get back into nature. With that being said, we will be working on our Nature Trail! Starting this project will be HUGE here at NSL as we hope to continue the work and make a complete hiking trail throughout the park, with things like cabin shelters, water features, plants, swings, bird/deer feeders, benches, plant identification plaques, and more. For the start, we will be building the first portion of the trail. This will include benches, plants, and a cabin-like shelter with electricity to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Don’t forget to come out and put some of your special touches on this project. We will also be enjoying some hot dogs and hamburgers as a nice treat after the work is completed.
As for park updates, we are continuing the work on our decks, stairs, and railing with new lumber and stain to keep them in tip top shape. We are going to work on our sports complex and pocket park to try and get those in better condition, as we noticed more use in these 2 areas this past season than we have in years past. We should finish all the work to our outdoor lights, so the park is well lit at night, with brighter lights in the common areas and softer lights in the areas where campers are located.
This is going to be a great month, come out and see.
