The 2025 Beach Dodgeball World Cup is coming to Island H2O on the west side of town April 3-6, 2025. Experience Kissimmee, Osceola County's tourism marketing arm, says it, “Will make history as the first event of its kind in Kissimmee.”

With more than 600 participants from over 15 countries, the 2025 Beach Dodgeball World Cup is set to be the epicenter for the global dodgeball community.“While Kissimmee has hosted numerous world-class events, this is the first time it will welcome an event of this kind, further showcasing the city's versatility as a premier destination for sporting events,” officials with Experience Kissimmee said in a recent release.

The game played as kids in school-time physical education classes has morphed into a serious sport and business that led to national federations popping up in dozens of countries and the formation of an official world governing body, World Dodgeball (WD) in 2013. The first World Cup occurred in Manchester, England in 2016, the second at Madison Square Garden in New York in 2018, and the third in Cairo, Egypt in 2022.Teams from Asia, like Malaysia, Japan, Hong Kong, with an occasional Australia or Saudi Arabia, dominate the world men's, women's and mixed rankings.

“We are incredibly excited to bring a beach event to a city without a traditional beach, to show how we think outside the box to deliver exceptional experiences,” said Tyler Weyant, Director of Sports Development at Experience Kissimmee. “Island H2O has been an amazing partner in transforming this vision into reality. I also want to commend Breanna Hicks, from Kissimmee Sports Commission, for her creative problem-solving in securing a venue that perfectly complements Kissimmee's ability to innovate.” “The partnership between Experience Kissimmee and World Dodgeball to bring the 2025 Beach Dodgeball World Cup to Kissimmee is history in the making,” said Tom Hickson, President of World Dodgeball.

The Island H2O Water Park will be transformed into a beach dodgeball arena. The event is expected to generate more than 1,000 room nights, contributing to the local economy and billing Kissimmee even more as a top destination for international events.
