The folks there were very helpful and went out of their way to make sure I had a place to stay. I will let anyone I know how well I was treated. The cabin was clean and comfortable. Their location is conveniently located to all the sites in the area. I want to thank you very much.

Quiet, clean, lovely. The hosts thoughtfully had the heater and the lights on in our cabin for our arrival. Much appreciated after a long day’s drive. Definitely will stay there again.

We are very happy to have such a nice clean facility to stay at for the night. There was a warm welcome with the community fire pit running when we got there. It was a short stop for us but it made all the difference to feel comfortable.

First time staying at a KOA. We had a lovely, secluded tent site - it was perfect! Fabulous made to order breakfasts! Hot pizzas delivered to your campsite, alongside a bundle of wood! Staff was great!

First, easy to find and close to everything we wanted to see and do in southwestern South Dakota. Our site was clean and the park was quiet. Our stay was in mid-October. Sites are close to each other, this worked for us because we were meeting up with a fellow wonderer. The staff was friendly and wanted to help with any questions/problems. We would definitely stay here in the future.

The most beautiful camp sites of any KOA where I’ve visited! The mix of cedars and pine is stunning! Plenty of trails for dog walking. The owner offers excellent sour dough bread and a pumpkin chocolate chip version for sale. Bathrooms need renovation, but very clean.

Lovely location among the pines. Great base camp spot for day trips. Clean facilities. Wonderful owners who are so accommodating to their campers. We'd definitely stay here again.

Third time I’ve stayed here. Lovely base camp to see all the surrounding tourist things. Friendly people. Lots of trees, but there are sites available if your rig is tall and long. Probably have to level.

Great campground with all the amenities and supplies. Super friendly, helpful and accommodating staff. This campground is in a great location in close proximity to all the great Black Hills activities. Town of Hot Springs is charming with lots of options. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

During Sept/Oct stayed twice at this KOA. A very nice place to stay. Owners/staff very friendly and helpful. Lots of activities for kids, also, nearby Hot Springs is a unique and captivating small town with lots to see and do. We will definitely be staying at this KOA again.

This place puts us just on the southern edge of the Black Hills. 40 minutes from Mt Rushmore. Custer State Park is 30 minutes away. And, when you buy your parking pass it's good for a year. So, we went to Mt Rushmore twice. Amazing experience.

We had an excellent stay during the Buffalo Round-up of 2025. I’m starting to look at KOA grounds more often. They have not disappointed yet, and the app makes it a breeze to book a site!

I know we stayed after season, so, I guess during the season they would offer hot coffee in the morning. The cabin we had & the rest of the campground was very clean. Everyone we spoke with were friendly & professional. We did have some weird bugs that kept getting in. Kinda looked like stink bugs. The website said a mini fridge would be in the cabin, but we didn’t have one. Not a deal breaker.

It’s a place to stay, but won’t be back.. sites where small and wifi was very poor couldn’t even connect. The place look a little run down. We left a day early from our 5 day stay. Guess I excepted better from a KOA.

Stayed in site 7, which was unmarked and a little confusing. Missed being led to site with golf cart, as most KOAs do. Very unlevel back-in site and unfortunately we were not prepared for that. Bathrooms and showers clean. Probably would not stay there again.

We stayed for 2 nights in the tent area. It was fine. Not too far from bathrooms and showers. We had the site nearest the highway which I would not recommend. Lots of highway traffic all night.

The park was just beautiful! We were doing a national park tour and this park is perfectly located for Mammoth National Park. We could have easily stayed longer as the park was picturesque and welcoming. When we return to SD, we will definitely stay at this park again.

This is one of our "most favorite" KOA's, it's always on our short list & makes it an easy choice for where to stop as we're driving through. It has now repeatedly turned into this being at least 2-3 days of break time off the road. The nicest staff, a yummy breakfast make this a perfect starting point for a relaxing day at the KOA or as a starting point for a day of adventure in the Black Hills. Clean cabins and amenities, a good variety of rv sites as well as tent sites make this an easy choice.

We stayed at Hot Springs / Black Hills SD KOA 12-16 July, in our 5th wheel. It was 100+ degrees every day yet the power to the RV sites remained on at this pretty full campground. Almost everyone had their A/C units on full blast. Sites are pretty level for mostly gravel roads and sites some sites we well shaded, Pool was being used by many. We made our reservation a week prior so we could receive forwarded mail that arrived and was handed to us directly. Being full timers for over 8 years we stop at a lot of campgrounds and quite a few KOA's at that, This staff was Amazing and really enjoyed what they were doing and it showed. Kudos to Carol and Scott, Yvonne and Lauren & Zeze and last but not least, Jheri who was making wonderful made to order breakfast platers when we departed. Thanks for going out of your way, every day, we relly enjoyed our stay.

Great store with a little bit everything in it. The workers where phenomenal and helped in any way possible and offered fantastic places to visit during the holiday. Laundry facility was perfect. Lots of activities for the family. Pool and pool area was clean!! Would definitely stay here again!!
