There are Pros and Cons. Good amenities for kids ... Playground, pool, jump pad, slide and fishing pond. Highway noise was LOUD but we eventually zoned it out. Our original spot had a steep drop off with no fence right behind our RV. With 2 small children, it was a safety concern so we asked to be moved. Staff was very accommodating. We still ended up with an open drop off but better.

Very nice. It was a quick overnight stay. Only used electric, but it was a full hookup pullthrough site.

It would have been nice to know I was parking the camper on the back side of a huge drop off because I have small children. I also got maybe 3 hours of sleep because the interstate is so close and the traffic never slowed. You can’t tell how close it is from pictures.

Wonderful campground with numerous ways to stay. Bathrooms are private and clean. Great place with many attractions in the area.

Pull through sites were not wide, slides were almost in the road and awning definitely couldn’t be used. Majority of sites had electric and water in the most impractical spots possible. Hookups were on the porch side or the very end of spots. Dump station was on a hill so you had to leave the cg and go down the road to turn around and reenter. Easy to overcome but just not expected at a KOA.

Great stay but site wifi is useless. Clean park, very nice restrooms and other facilities. Friendly staff. As stated wifi was the big draw back, in and out and very small band width and we were right next to a booster.

While we appreciate that this KOA allows Living Quarter horse trailers (no horses), the noise from the interstate was too much. The campground is very well maintained. The facility is clean, the pool looked inviting & the staff, very friendly. This location is close to alot of local attractions.

We appreciated that we were able to arrive late and find our own spot we had reserved. We also appreciated that we never had to take the time to go in and register. Some KOAs are real sticklers about their rules and expectations (I'm looking at you Blue Ridge, GA!). We loved all there was to see and do at the KOA and in the area. Wish I'd asked to tour a wagon/teepee/treehouse!!

We had the best view! Loved the campground and everything that you had to offer for the kids to do. Very clean bathhouse and laundry room. Staff was very nice

We stayed at KOA Horse Cave July 26-30, four nights on site 92. The site was a pull thru gravel with full hookups, fire pit and picnic table. Pretty much in the sun all day. Across the road was a fenced in lot with a horse and donkey, that let us pet them. There is a pool, playground and jumping pillow to keep the kids entertained. Highly recommend this KOA

Friendly welcome; good location Next time, I will select my site. We were placed on a site that was slanted causing us to be in an awkward position - the front end of rig sitting VERY low to ground with tail end up. Site had not been cleaned before we arrived ( paper towels, rags, cigarette butts all over the site.

Great location, nice facilities, well maintained. I have just one complaint- the camp store. It was supposed to be open starting at 8:00 a.m. but never was. I stopped there every morning on my way out of camp to buy coffee and a bag of ice but was frustrated every time. You should change posted hours you cannot staff the store.

Reserved site was being used and I still was charged the fee. Sites were not level and difficult. Management was rude and unhelpful. Power and water were out for a bit. It is a franchise, so corporate will not help.

Had problem with no power to our camper. We called a mobile RV tech to come out. It was an emergency call, after hours and cost $823 to be told the 50 amp leg on the campground pedestal was bad. Reported to manager the following day. She was irate that we had someone check her pedestal. Told me no one else complained. Duh…they must have had 30 amp. Refused to refund and never sent Maintenance.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Mr. Hill I am sorry this was your experience, you should have called our emergency line that is posted by main office door, on our phone recording as well as the site map you received. Our certified electrician was sent down not maintenance to replace the 50amp breaker that went bad.

Small KOA situated on very hilly slopes. Roads are wide & asphalted into KOA as well as leading to RV sites. This KOA has a wide variety of lodging including 2 treehouses, 4 caravans, 2 teepees, & several cabins. Only 1 pull thru 50 amp site that is top of a slope in front of KOA entrance. Treehouses have 2 bedrooms plus full bath as well as their Teepees. Not much trees to prevent satellite.

This is the best KOA I have ever stayed at. The entire campground was immaculate. The bathrooms were beautiful and clean! The staff was wonderful. I definitely would stay here again.

This was our first time camping and we had a great experience. Friendly staff and plenty of things to do. Private bathing facilities were clean and a great bonus.

Overnight stay so not enough time to adequately evaluate, but I had to change date of arrival & staff was accommodating. Many different options if not staying in an RV. Would stay again if travel in the area. Clean.

Very nice facility. My wife especially liked the individual bathrooms. We had a reservation and were expected, so check in was quick and easy.

All was good. We had to leave a day early due to a death in the family, it would have been nice for a partial refund since we had to leave early. Otherwise, we will go back.

Very nice KOA, large sites, we even parked our two RVs on one of the sites to make buddy sites with plenty of room! Bathroom facilities were large and nice. Lots of things for kids to play and do. Close to Mammoth Caves and other local cave exploring sites!

I have never stayed in such a beautifully laid out campground. The lots are SPACIOUS!!!!! Absolutely lovely. We did have a leaky water faucet on 85, and I did report it, but saw not much difference after. It certainly was not critical for my stay, but might be for your water usage. :-)

We have stayed at the Horse Cave KOA twice on our travels from Ohio to Texas. We enjoyed each time there and plan to stay again in the future. This KOA is clean and welcoming with wonderful amenities for families and children! Thank you for providing such a nice place to stay on our long drives.

I would advise that anyone with a camper longer than 30-35 feet not stay here. Site 45 is a pull-through; you have to go over a curve to get in and out. There is also a sewer vent under the fire pit; it was above ground, 4 inches. Site 45 is where the water runs down; they filled in a 6" ditch so we could pull out, but we still backed out due to the pipe. Nice place otherwise.

Really nice KOA, the bathrooms were lovely and super close to the cabin I rented. Breathtaking views across farm fields to the west. The highway is audible but not so loud we couldn't sleep.

Yall, the campground is nice! Not too big, only a few tent sites which is how I stayed, but plenty of RV sites, as well as the teepee and covered wagon sites. I didnt see the primitive cabins, but the treehouse cabins looked nice!! The bathrooms are so so nice for a campground!! That was the part I was most worried about in booking here, as I couldn't find much info about them, but rest assured, they are superb and clean and heated, which was really nice since it got down to 38° the nights we stayed, and thats a little chilly in a tent 😅 so it was nice to be able to warm up in a clean and warm shower ! Overall, definitely recommend the place:)
