I really liked this place. It was so clean, modern and I see why everyone likes the bathrooms. They’re very private. Everything is right in your private room. You don’t have to get dressed and use the mirror among other people. Everything is right there for you. It was so quiet. I think I slept for 10 hours. Did I mention how clean it was? And the representative that checked me in was so nice!

We love this campground. Our site was at the back of the campground overlooking a little barn with 2 mini horses and 2 very friendly and talkative turkeys. There was also a nice fishing pond just down from us where my husband caught a couple of fish. The only negative was the wifi that kept cutting out. Very nice place with some unusual spots to stay, like the teepees and tree houses.

This campground is very basic. The campground is on a steep incline between the rows with almost no green space. What is green is tall weeds. The campground is high and overlooks the freeway and is noisy. The only nice thing is it's close to the highway so it's easy to get to. I would only stay here if you need somewhere to hook up on your way to your destination.

Sites are very uneven. Bathroom showers great. Easy access to highway.

Enjoyed the stay. Plenty for thr kids to do. some of the nicest bathhouse we've ever used.

Lots of amenities and very well maintained! Our kids loved the play options. Bathrooms were great - love the individual rooms. Wish the bathrooms were closer to the spots that were only water and electric. It was a far walk to the bathroom in the night.

Great Stay. Nice camping sites, excellent facilities.

It was fine. The campsite was clean and easy to access. Overall a nice experience.

Everything about the facilities was awesome. My only request would be adding some leveled pads to the tent sites, as our stay on T21 was difficult and felt like we were right top of the people at T20. Also, a huge addition would be an outdoor sink for washing dishes by the back side entrance. Those two things would make this the best KOA I’d ever seen, out of the 20+ KOAs I’ve been.

I called ahead of time, was told which site to select online. Received a call day of arriving advising I selected too small of site for our RV & Trailer and that they were booked. Ended up in too small of a site and was charged more than the original quote. It was right next to the highway and very noisy! The site was not what was described. It was very sloped.

We were just overnight but extremely clean and well kept.

Site 044 was very dangerous. Steep drop off behind the site with no concrete curb. Not only was it steep it was NOT level!
Apr 11, 2026
Wi fi would not stay connected. Went to the office and the young girl said “well mine works”. Offered no assistance! Lot 92 was no where close to beings level. Was told when I made the reservation it was concrete, NOT! The road noise from the interstate was loud. Will never stay again!! This was my first time camping. Probably will never stay at any KOA!!!

Excellent campground, lots to do nearby. Great staff, very helpful. I’d avoid site 44 next time I stay there, the site has a 10 to 12 inch fall to the back, getting level is very difficult.

Lovely facility. Unfortunately, management was not particularly attuned to guest’s needs. Example: 1 trash bag for a 5 night stay & no clear direction re trash pickup.

I enjoyed our stay at Horse Cave and the KOA.

Site had poor setup and unlevel. Dump station setup poor and on a slope. Went Loves and paid to dump.

Check in was easy employee was very nice. Park is very well kept! Lots of very interesting buildings to stay in plus plenty of activities!

From the moment I arrived, the staff made a fantastic impression with their friendliness and eagerness to help. Their warm hospitality truly set the tone for a wonderful stay.

The covered wagon was very nice for :glamping", the bath house is the best I have ever seen at a campground, and the staff was helpful. This is a very convenient location for taking in Mammoth National Park.

We LOVED our treehouse cabin. The view was fantastic, even in March without a lot of green on the trees. Cabin was well stocked and my boys (13 & 8) LOVE a loft but even more when they each get their own queen mattress. We didn't have a grill like the listing said (one showed up right as we were checking out) but stayed early in season. RV sites seemed tight but our treehouse was great!!

Nice campground, but definitely bathrooms need more attention, no toilet paper in most and the floors were really dirty, we were there 2 nights and it was the same when we left as it was when we pulled in

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Our bathhouse is deep cleaned daily and checked every few hours. Not sure why you had this experience.

Our site 87 was next to what I think was sewage treatment system. We smelled sewage at our campsite. Very disappointed.
Apr 05, 2026
It is a very nice park. Clean and well maintained. Our only issue was the uneven sites.
Apr 05, 2026
The furniture, while nice, is too large for the cabin. There needs to be a shelf/soap dish in the shower. There really needs to be a bit more storage space in general. Maybe some shelves? While we were there, a man came through spraying (for bugs I guess). He would knock and if no one answered, he would unlock the door and go in. I thought that was wrong. It wasn’t bad or great.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

It is Ky law that every month we treat all units. this is kid and pet friendly treatment. Will look into adding more storage.

We made an overnite reservation while driving back from Florida to Wisconsin. After making the reservation an hour later we decided we should keep driving to avoid severe weather. We called the office to cancel but they wouldn't refund our money. We stopped at the campground office. The man inside gave us our site. We drove to the site and found it on a hill and muddy. We left the park and drove h

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

The cancelation policy states day of booking is nonrefundable. We did have a lot of rain and would been happy to have moved you if you had let us known the issue.

Had no problems, was a quick stop overnight.

Great stay. Clean and lots of fun things to do both at the KOA and in the area. Would love some benches by the playground and jumping pillow for parents.
Apr 02, 2026
The campground is very nice. My reason for the low rating is based on us being assigned an incompatible site for our 44' long class A RV. We booked a couple of months in advance. We were then assigned a different site that didn't include sewer; not ideal. We parked on the site (site 6) and were further disappointed due to the radical slope of the site. We made other arrangements & left early.

Wonderfully clean and well-maintained bathrooms; attentive and pleasant staff at check in; easy to check in, get firewood, etc. Great location.

Good stay, nice location and ideal for visiting Mammoth Cave.

Great campground. Lots to do for kids. Clean bathrooms and we'll decorated. Bathtubs!!!! Nice to have that option. Friendly staff. Kept up well. Great for big rigs

Check in was great. I misunderstood an email and thought I could check in at noon instead of 4pm. I arrived at noon but luckily the cabin was ready and they let me in. I had been driving for 12 hours and was very appreciative for that. The cabin was clean and everything was very nice. There did seem to be an attack of the stink bugs at the cabin. I flushed 9 **try permethrin it kills most insects*

I wish I could attach a picture. The site was do uneven that my right side tires were 4 inches off the ground. We had to move the picnic table to the camper and step up onto it to get into the camper....

Accidentally booked the wrong site type online and they thankfully asked at checkin and switched it for me. Easy on and off highway while traveling.
Mar 29, 2026
Too close to the highway and not worth the money

Just spent the night. Road noise not too bad. Beautiful area. Kid friendly. Nice staff.
Mar 27, 2026
It was a very nice campground, especially if you have kids. However, I asked twice if the site was level because others had complained about that. I was assured it was. 3 level blocks later we were level, so my complaint is with communication.

Sites very unlevel.

I loved the campground. My only disappointment was the WiFi connection. It was unable to hook up with either TV requesting mac addresses. Of all the campgrounds we have been at this was the first time for such a request. Even ipads and phone were unable to link. The antenna being barely 50 ft away. They give a password it should be easier to use. I did recommend for my daughter to stop at this one
Mar 23, 2026
Nice campground but the interstate traffic is a little too close and noisy. We just did a layover going home so wasn’t too bad for us.
Mar 23, 2026
The campground was very nice and we enjoyed the amenities. My only disappointment is not being able to stay in one of the wagons. The wagon we had reserved had a very noticeable wasp nest inside it, so we were unable to stay in it with our small children. There was no real offer to help us with this problem beyond suggesting we stay in one of the teepees, which cost more.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Spring has sprung. We treat all units for pest. There was no know nest found in the wagons. Pest company said they were trying to find warm from the weather change.

It was a really cool spot. Really close to mammoth caves. There were turkeys, ponies and a donkey ! There was also a great fishing pond. Over all a very beautiful site.

We didn't have a room because we were in our tent but they have some amazing looking teepees, and the conestoga wagons face a beautiful grassy valley with nice big decks out back. This is a really nice campground. All the showers are actually individual bathrooms so that was a really nice feature and they were super clean. We arrived after dark so I couldn't tell if any of the other empty tent sites were level. Ours wasn't super flat but we made do. Also, when you're picking your site for an RV or camper, there's some pull through right along the campground road where your table and fire pit basically sit next to the road. Maybe that's normal. I don't have a camper. And surprisingly the highway noise kept up all night long. My experience is that most KOAs we've ever stayed at are close to an interstate, but typically we don't notice the noise as much. This KOA campground was very well kept and I would definitely recommend it!
