When ordering my site I asked for one with sewer, water and electric did not get the sewer. You guys know. I have a pet and I don’t know too many animals don’t wanna go potty on complete stone. There’s no grass for them to go potty on was a really terrible experience being at your campground.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

we have a dog park and areas with grass.

We took our five grandkids for a two night stay at the Horse Cave KOA. The first night we rented two covered wagons and the second night we rented a Tepee. The grandkids loved them both. This is such a nice campground and has the nicest bathhouse I have ever seen at a campground. It was a large building with like 10 separate rooms, each containing a shower, sink and toilet. Highly recommend

wifi did not work and was unable receive any TV channels. Spoke with other campers and they were having same issue.

The covered wagon was an experience my daughter will never forget! The wagon was clean, roomy, and very comfortable despite the July heat. The campground overall was quiet and tidy and had lots of activities for kids to enjoy. She especially loved the pool and the jump pad. We will definitely be booking a night away at Horse Cave again soon!

It was great even thought we just spent the night. Very peaceful and clean.

We were only able to stay one night. We stayed in one of the covered wagons, it was wonderful! There was plenty for the children to do around the campground.

Cabin had cracked window and broken light fixture. We were only given 1 tiny bar of soap for hand washing and bathing. We were supposed to wash dishes we used but their was no dishwashing soap. I liked that they had free coffee or you could give a donation.

We were pleasantly surprised with the location of this KOA. Showers and bathrooms were very clean, roomy and accommodating. The lobby and store were nice, golf cart rental was a great idea considering the size of this location and the hills on the property. We favorited this location and do plan to come back on a future road trip.

Perfect stay at this KOA, no problems at all. Luxuary equipped with all we needed.

Overall experience and stay was very very nice. The team members were all very pleasant. The only downside was that we had thought there would be a grill for the fire pit so we could cook. We ended up going out to eat, so the bonus was getting to see more of the area. There was a coffee maker in the cabin, but no coffee. Luckily, we brought our own coffee so no worries there! Would stay here again

Not one of the better places. No seeer on our site. No cable TV and over the air only had 4 PBS channels. Local major attractions were either booked or cancelled.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Sorry you did not get to book a sewer site. We have no control over the area attractions.

The facility is beautiful and clean, the staff is polite and helpful, and the proximity to Mammoth Cave National Park is convenient. However, our site was significantly out of level and required a lot of work to level the camper as compared to other campgrounds we have used. Also the highway noise from I-68 is obnoxious.

Probably the cleanest KOA we’ve been to. The only drawback is a lot of the sites don’t have sewer hookups and there’s not a good way to get to the dump station that is on site. I don’t think I can say enough about the young lady in the front office. In short, she was just awesome.
Jul 21, 2024
The person at the desk was wonderful. The bathrooms were amazing. The sites…horrible. The first one was parallel to road. Could not put out awning, plus table had to be on side with hookups or would be in road. Tried another site. So unlevel!! Could not balance trailer, and we are experienced csmpers

Very nice quiet place to stay. The swimming pool was great to cool down in. The lady at the desk was very polite and professional. Thank you

Had a nice time. Was a bit pricey, love it.

We stayed in the Treehouse and my family absolutely loved it! The treehouse was clean and spacious! Loved all the entertaining space below for evening campfires and dinner. We also loved the pool, putt putt and super slide. The only draw back on the treehouse was there were a handful of bugs that found their way in, but they were easy to eliminate.

Issue was mainly pool and putt putt golf. Poor maintenance. Drained pool Monday and it reopened late Tuesday but Wednesday it was buggy and starting to get nasty already. Golf is run down and dangerous for children.

Very nice clean campground. Pool was closed when we arrived (something happened over the weekend, it needed to be drained). It happens. I’ve NEVER seen a bathhouse like this one! Individual rooms with toilet, shower (some even had tubs). They have teepees, covered wagons, tree houses. Very impressive!

Quick in and out but we will be back

Noisy campground facing Interstate 65, pitched drive through sites difficult to level on, nice bathrooms and activities for the kids, close to back entrance to Mammoth Cave.

Cabins were wonderful and the facilities available were great. Close proximity to Mammoth Cave. Was very convenient and would highly recommend.

No shade. Internet for tv not available even with fire sticks. Not a good fit for us.

Beautiful campground. We always enjoy our stays. We stay here at the Horse Cave KOA at least once every year.
Jul 17, 2024
Well appointed place and tremendous staff. Lots to be proud of. The down side? Site 31 was advertised as a level pull thru. If it was ever level, erosion has changed that. Pull thru was really a pull off to the side of the road. Too little room to set up anything a reasonable person would call a camp.

Hot site with no trees for shade. Pool was out of service.

Pool closed for the last two days of our stay. There was no noticed posted. Would have been nice to know

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Beds were hard and the air was hot in the cabins and the couch was very uncomfortable!! The place is nice to stay at.

Nice clean location well taken care of good base camp for caves

Check in was great, the tree house was amazing. We had four adults and tree children (ages 6-2). We were a little worried about the loft area for the little ones. The railings seemed low. The kitchen and bathroom were supplied with everything we needed (a new can opener is needed). We are definitely considering staying in a KOA campground again soon. We may try a teepee or a covered wagon.

Not what we have come to expect for a KOA Holiday. Full hook up did not include sewer. First site was a pull out off road with no room to put our awning. Second site had more space but no room to set outside. 3rd site more room, full hookup, all gravel and no shade. Camper A/C struggled to keep cool. Left 2days early.
Jul 15, 2024
Overall, we loved it. Kids loved all the outdoors things. Adults loved the tree house and the kids having fun. Minor issues with air cooling in the lift, but nothing major.
Jul 15, 2024
Camped in the primitive tent camping sites as a last resort. The bathhouse was very nice. A lot of activities for the kids, including a pool and jumping pillow but overall, WAY over priced for no electricity and no water sources on sites.

Loved the pool, the showers were excellent, the host was very friendly and helpful.
Jul 13, 2024
Everyone was friendly and helpful. Slow at picking up our garbage or never did some days. The only one con is the truck noise level from the rest stop and highway.

Very nice park. Clean and spacious with a friendly staff. We’ve stayed there several times and will stay again.

Positive first... the setting was beautiful! The campground was clean. We didn't use the facilities but the store was clean, organized and fully stocked. The front desk lady, a young girl, was very short and borderline rude. We would have stayed and shopped the store but didn't feel welcome. Power went out too but no fault of the KOA. Would stay there again. Thank you!
Jul 10, 2024
The front desk was always prompt and helpful. The fireworks were a great special event. There was lots to do and several options for ways to stay. My only complaint was the concrete pads were not level and backing into a spot that is ramped towards a large tree and huge drop was very unnerving. Plus there wasn’t much room to park our truck luckily the spot across from us let us park on their lot

Easy to get to, great lot size, super nice bath house and lots of amenities!!!

It was a really cool spot. Really close to mammoth caves. There were turkeys, ponies and a donkey ! There was also a great fishing pond. Over all a very beautiful site.

We didn't have a room because we were in our tent but they have some amazing looking teepees, and the conestoga wagons face a beautiful grassy valley with nice big decks out back. This is a really nice campground. All the showers are actually individual bathrooms so that was a really nice feature and they were super clean. We arrived after dark so I couldn't tell if any of the other empty tent sites were level. Ours wasn't super flat but we made do. Also, when you're picking your site for an RV or camper, there's some pull through right along the campground road where your table and fire pit basically sit next to the road. Maybe that's normal. I don't have a camper. And surprisingly the highway noise kept up all night long. My experience is that most KOAs we've ever stayed at are close to an interstate, but typically we don't notice the noise as much. This KOA campground was very well kept and I would definitely recommend it!
