Great tent site, but could use rest room or portajohn closer to site, WiFi was very poor in that area. We enjoyed our stay.

Loved the campsite, but there was streetlight next to out camp which was bright white light and made it difficult to sleep in the tent. Also the sites lack privacy as all sites are very close to each other. And the washroom stinked at night.

We stayed last week. Tenting in site 104. Had a very good experience. Staff was all great. Met several all friendly, and they enjoyed what they were doing. Camp is very obviously in active setup and renovation. Bathrooms were always clean. Hot water always plenty. This campground is a beautiful scenic location. We love it. New laundry setup was great.

The Hill City/Needles HWY KOA was the perfect "base-camp" for our stay doing our Black Hills experience. The camp is nesteled in a pine forest on side of a look-out surrounded by beutifule peaks. Wake up to fresh pine forest smells! Folks running the camp were friendly and helpful. Super clean bathrooms, hot showers!!!! We'll be back!

Loved this campground. Friendly staff, clean showers and bathrooms. The best dish washing station ever! 3 sinks, big sideboards and a large dish rack for your clean dishes. First time having a dish rack and loved it as I tent and wash dishes. Tent sites are large grassy areas.

Our spot we had to share the electric box, which made our neighbor and us too close. Showers were small, but did the job. Office personal were very helpful with noise after 11pm

Bathrooms were very clean and well kept. The staff went out of they're way to ensure we had everything we needed at our site. Highly recommend the Hill City KOA. Will return on my next visit to South Dakota.

I had a wonderful first visit and camping experience. I only wish that I had found you earlier in the Summer. I especially appreciated the help you gave me and where you chose my campsite to be. I had a perfect stay here. Tim, the manager, was kind enough to help me assemble my tent upon arrival. Bathrooms/showers were clean and plenty hot water. Campsite was spacious and cozy. Not far from a convenience/liquor store had I forgotten anything. And not too far away from Custer State Park. Definitely thinking about making this an annual trip, loved everything! Thank you!

We loved the location, view, amenities, and the cozy feel of this campground. Our neighbors were also so kind and friendly. We really liked that this campground had guests that would come year after year.

We have come here often and absolutely love it. The staff is extremely accommodating and kind. It is in a great location. They make sure to not crowd people in if they don’t have to. We always will come back. The only concern is the last time we stayed before it was a KOA the bathroom facilities were clean daily, now that it is a KOA is only “cleaned periodically”. I am happy that you enjoyed your stay. The sign on the bathroom door can be deceiving, we clean periodically throughout the day. We clean the bathroom daily and then when needed, in addition to the daily. We just didn't want to set a specific time, we check the bathrooms several times a day & clean.

Wendy did care of my booking with her friendly attention that was beyond our expectations. The campground is amazing, beautiful surroundings and close to everything we needed. The staff were friendly and very welcoming. We are speaking high of this campsite to our friends and family.

Close to town, and shopping. Only thing I would have changed is the bathroom. When it did get cleaned it was very nice. But only cleaned after 3 days; a lot of people in for the Sturgis rally..

Wow! The team at Hills City KOA rock! This was the best motorcycle camping experience ever!! Steve, Melissa, Tim, Wendy, Julid and Kathy were incredible. Their friendliness and responsiveness was outstanding. Thank you for making my trip to the Black Hills so special!!

We stayed 5 days at the Hill City location. There were a couple of days with hard rain and winds. We had no problems. However not everyone was that lucky. Some people had tents mangled and collapsed. The gravel pathways to the tent sites had a lot of ruts and washed out gravel. The staff were on top of things and helped campers and promptly worked to clean up the ruts and washed out gravel.

Great stay! The park was centrally located and in a beautiful setting. Grounds were well cared for and everything was clean. Staff was incredible! From the front desk and store staff, to the groundskeepers and maintenance, we thoroughly enjoyed every interaction. 10/10 recommend.

This is the best KOA we have stayed at. The campsites higher up the hill (81-83) are awesome and the staff is super nice. Highly recommendable.

We loved how quaint and cozy it felt and how close it was to so many good things! We loved how tent campsites didn’t feel like they were on top of each other and we enjoyed being in the trees. The staff was amazing, friendly, and very helpful. We loved it here! We hope you never change. We want to come back!

I love the spacious and grassy areas designated for tent camping. This KOA is located in a lovely valley away from the noise of the road and is very relaxing. Clean and updated shower facilities. Great location close to Custer State Park.

We used the tent camping sites. Please keep them available! It’s so peaceful and beautiful there. Do not turn these primitive sites into cabins or RV spots.

Everything was great. The pool was clean and clear. Well maintained. Quiet. The showers are heavily used, my only suggestion would to have someone clean them 2-3 times a day. We will be back!

All of the staff is super friendly and welcoming. They made you feel like part of a family. I was walking down to the store and Tim picked me up and gave me a ride to get ice and took me back to my site. I didnt get everyone's name but they were all great. Bathrooms were kept clean. So many options in the store. We will be back!

We've been camping at this location for nearly 15 years, and it is one of our favorite places to stay. We've experienced so many great memories, beautiful views and meaningful moments with friends here over the years. We were so pleased to have another wonderful experience and happy for the warm greeting by the new KOA ownership/management and staff. Thank you!

I bring grandkids every other year to camp for a week (started in 2011). It was a wonderful experience for us this year. This I can say it was much better than what I experienced 2019 through 2023. Those years were okay, but the people running/on-site this year were superb. Thank you and hope to be back in 2027.

very easy to check in: Very polite staff. very clean restrooms ; one toilet was not flushing. I told staff about toilet and it was quickly fixed Internet worked well. i was at Custer Park SD. I thought $47 one night fee for tent camping was extreme. but i needed a place to camp overnight.

This campground is in a stunning location. At night it cooled down and got quiet. You could see a million stars in the sky. All of the workers were really nice. The delivery of ice and firewood to our site was fast and easy. The bathroom/shower was clean. I would highly recommend staying here.

I was blown away by the personalized assistance from Melissa planning how to get the most out of my short time in the area. Cleanliness of the facility was outstanding. The centralized location to all local attractions could not have been more convenient.
