This is a huge KOA. We were there during one of their Halloween weekends and the place was packed. Ironically it seemed relaxed and with all the families having a good time, it was a nice weekend. The staff was professional and made their presence known. This truly is a family playground. There is some much to do and there is something for everyone. Very close to the National Historic Park.

It was a great stay as usual! The staff is friendly and helpful. The campground is always clean. It’s always so peaceful. We will definitely be back.

Sites were small and mud right outside our RV's door then it did rain and we then had mud puddles at the door. At check in we were given no information such as trash pick up any activitess just given a map.Showers had warm water.

Had a great time. Camped with 4 other groups as we do every year. See you next year!!!

Love the campground and activities. I just wish you would update the playground and get rid of that circle thing.

I feel that you charge for every person or animal to include what you pay for in site fees. This is the only koa that I have camped at where you don't get an escort to the site and the most expensive. Sites are very small and you are on top of your neighbors. Very disappointed with the stay

Been to this KOA many times. Staff is friendly and helpful. Free pancakes Sat and Sunday is great. As usual the site is barely big enough to fit my truck and 5th wheel Trailer. Love the Harpers Ferry area. Will visit again soon.

We realize that we were visiting on a very busy weekend with all of the Holloween activities taking place, so we anticipated it being crowded. Getting to our sight was a challenge as a result of needing to make a U-turn in the staging area and the vehicles intruding into the road way to our sight. Some one needs to "Marshall" the staging area and how people park during busy periods.

We stayed for a week M-Sunday with 3 kids. Unfortunately there was very little to do at the campground until the weekend. The bounce pillow was not inflated until the weekend. Only two golf clubs were out at the mini golf. The sites were nice though a couple of the patio sites(not deluxe) were cracked and needed update. The staff was very pleasant and the store was well stocked.

This was our first time here. Our family ( 2 dogs and 20 month old) came during KOA’s Halloween weekend event. We enjoyed our experience and all the activities available during the weekend.

Campground was not very crowded since it was off season, but cabins are way too close together. I would never book one for a busy time of year. The cabin we were in was not cleaned very well. There were cobwebs in all the corners, dirt on the floor and the toilet was filthy.

We scheduled a joint rally with another group, Everything seemed ezy-pezy in that we were told to call only the local phone number if we wanted to park together. Disappointed to find our group parked all over the campground although plenty of open spaces in our area. Too many cooks making reservations and not everyone paying attention.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We agree it would be much easier for both your group and us if one person made the reservations. You made 11 individual reservations between April and September for various site types throughout the campground. It appears that not everyone in the group wanted to be in the same area, as there were sites available during the week as you said.

This is a terrific RV park with a VERY hospitable staff in a gorgeous location at the confluence of the Shenandoah & Potomac Rivers. Shade trees aplenty!! That said be aware that on busy weekends you could be packed into a couple sections of the park where you will discover a new definition of the word "claustrophobic" (i.e. sites 140 to 172). If you like nature and history THIS is the place!!

Loved it! We had to remind 2 more times to deliver our firewood after ordering, otherwise loved it! Thank you!

Beautiful and well maintained camp grounds with everything you need to have a great experience.Great people. My family always has a great time at Harpers Ferry KOA. Helpful and friendly staff who work hard and take pride in making your stay the best it can be. We would not think of going anywhere else for camping.

Joint rally with 25 coaches in the group. We appreciated the great facilities for our functions. My only negative was the sewer site was higher than normal but with help, all worked better than expected. Thanks

Site 129 very unlevel side to side and front to back, I think you should address this. You also need to add an additional bath house near all the cabins and tent areas without bathrooms.
Oct 21, 2019
Pros: beautifully breathtaking scenery, friendly employees, clean facilities, the 2 for 1 deal and great activities for kids. Cons: arrived at night to our cabin and we could not decipher where our driveway was until morning, the hill to the cabin was very steep as we fell several times and bathhouses were kind of far away for walking

We had a wonderful stay in one of the deluxe cabins.
Oct 21, 2019
I think a daily $10 resort fee is excessive on the off season.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We do not charge the resort fee during the week this time of year. It looks like you made your reservations online where it is automatically added. We have refunded $31.80 back to your card. Thank you for letting us know.

Good except the lower branches of trees scraped my motorhome on the roads. They need to be trimmed .
Oct 20, 2019
The stay was ok the sites in the 130s&140 were very rough with large tree roots. Also when I asked to stay another night I had to pack up and move 2 sites because my site was reserved, the next day when we left our original site was still open.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

The site you checked into and wanted to extend was reserved and guaranteed over a year in advance for a Halloween weekend. It was not available. Regardless of when the next guests checked in, the site was paid for and theirs to use.

Could use more local brochures. Staff needs to be more informed knowledgeable of park fees and shuttle’s

We love this campground, has best activities for children/families , cool store, very clean, and staff treat you as a special guest. We will definitely return! Best KOA we have camped at.
Oct 18, 2019
It is a very nice campground but I wish our group could have been placed together because we do all our activities and eat most our meals together. It was hard making sure everyone was kept updated with changes. We were scattered all over.

Lots of fun! Great Halloween celebration!

I rented a cabin and came through the week seeking peace and quiet. Frankly, this is not the campground for peace and quiet. It's more like a big RV parking lot tailgate party. That's not a bad thing if that is what someone wants in their "camping" experience, but it just wasn't right for me. It's probably a blast for kids and for adults who like to sit in between huge RVs drinking beer.

First pad assigned was so tight, could not make a normal septic hose reach the dump. Very close sites with little to separate from others. Wish there had been more info available from front desk on the National Park. Wasn’t even told that there was a shuttle bus from less than ¼ from the Koa. Otherwise great location.

I love the campground and am thinking about not camping any more as how the rates are getting to expensive, I rather take my family and stay in a hotel. it use to be cheap to camp but not anymore they want to charge a resort fee on top of what is being paid per night and at another campground I had to pay an additional price for my 12 year old grandson very disappointed.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

It looks like your total was $209.88 for four people for three nights in a 50 amp site. That included all amenities and a full Halloween activity schedule. Rates are less and without amenity fees during the week this time of year, come check us out then. Plus, the campground is quiet and calm.
Oct 18, 2019
The site's for what you get are overpriced. The site's are not nice in the 30 amp areas. The people at the desk does not know how to assign site's to groups who like to park together.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

It looks like your group made 11 individual reservations between April and September for various site types throughout the campground. It's best for a wagon master to book and pay for all sites in a group so that they may be placed together. It looks like you paid $118.72 for three nights, less than $40 per night, a very reasonable rate at any campground.

The campground was great, only down side was trying to leave it's quite difficult with a larger RV!

Very nice campground just outside of Harper's Ferry. All different kinds of sites, deluxe with concrete patios, full hookup with 50 amp, no hookups, cabins, and deluxe cabins. Does not have concrete pads, all are stone/gravel. Plenty of amenities on site for kids and adults including mini golf, pools, arcade, basketball, volleyball, playground, movie theater.
