Take the time to explore the land of the Duke
John Wayne liked this part of western New Mexico. He made films in the area and you can too. There's the elusive roadrunner that frequents the KOA. There is a children's playground including tetherball, a walking trail that will take you back into ancient lava flows for a close up look at the volcanic mysteries that help shape this land. We are located in the heart of the El Malpais (Lava country), close to everything the area has to offer. We have RV sites available for those looking to stay with us on an extended basis. As one of our extended stays, you will have access to all of our amenities such as our laundry room and everything we have to offer. We will make your stay as comfortable as possible and look forward to accommodating any new members to our KOA family!

That doesn't mean this area has to always be empty. When you start reviewing camping options, your history will display here to help compare sites and find the best stay. You will be able to share your stay information with friends or family and save it for a later time if you have a KOA.com Account.
