Lovely campground with so many personal touches. The staff were so kind and helpful. The campsites were clean and tidy. The bathhouse had individual spacious rooms, clean and up to date. The pool and area was lovely. We will stay there again.

Great campground and great staff. Wooded, big sites. And, BBQ delivered to your site. We were just passing through, but decided we’ll bring the grandkids back.

Very clean and well kept campground. The grounds were very well taken care of and decorated. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. The employees were extremely polite and friendly. The food delivery offered to the campsite was a giant plus for travelers on the road and the food was great.

It is always a pleasure to be in this beautiful campground. Staff is positive, helpful, and welcoming. Clean bathrooms, well cared property, great location. Dave's amazing brisket and bbq.

We knew where we had to camp for our first trip out with our new dog. A Fancy Gap dog site! Wonderful experience with our new traveling partner! We normally visit this campground once or twice a year. It is easy on/off of I77...hence the Journey classification, buy stay a few nights and see the sights! Mount Airy, Galax, Blueridge Pkwy (hiking), New River Trail State Park (old railroad bed)!

This was my second time staying at the Fancy Gap KOA. The staff was just as friendly as they were the first time, and the grounds and facilities were still excellently maintained. The quite surroundings make this an excellent place to relax and rest. The close proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Mt Airy make this campground a great starting off point for adventures.

The staff was very helpful, and the Lodge cabin was amazing. It had everything you need and is better than pulling my rv!

I had gone online and made our reservation for a Extra Long Back-In site with full hook-ups. When we arrived, we were not told what site we were going to be put on, just given paperwork and told to follow someone on a yellow golf cart to our site. We were put way up top in a short site that was not shady in the afternoon except for the very tail end of our trailer. I was not happy about this.

Awesome KOA campground with a lot of shade and privacy. Nice campground to walk too with some hills for calorie burning. Stayed in a cabin which had a commode and t.v.! If you have big dogs this is the campground for you. Multiple campsites with fenced areas for big dogs At Your Site! The gift shop is full of items for souvenirs and the staff is on it. Already booked our next stay! Great Tim

Stay was great and enjoy the campground. But issue in making reservations. Was told could reserve a spot if persons don’t want the spot next year at 12 noon next day. If f they did not the spot was ours. Found out persons was not coming back. Went early to reserve and was told site was already reserved. Site should have been ours. Lacking in communication.

I really want to say I’m not likely at all to tell anyone about this campground, because I really want to keep this jewel to myself!!!! But that would be selfish so of course they get a 10++++ as well as 10++++ if I could give it for the campground itself!!! Love this place and they have the best staff ever!!!

Ive stayed several times now as a tent camper and the quality is always on point. Staff are helpful and all facilities are immaculate! It means a lot when they speak to you or wave as they go by.

Our stay at the Fancy Gap KOA was top-notch. The property is exceptionally well-maintained, clean, and tucked into a scenic, shaded mountain setting that makes for a peaceful getaway. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome, from check-in to escorting rigs safely into sites. Having Dave’s Smokehouse on-site is a huge perk—getting freshly smoked BBQ and pizza was amazing!!!

The staff were awesome! Nothing was a problem to them.My wife is disabled and when she needed to go places in the park they would come to our site and pick her up and take her there.

I stay at the Fancy Gap KOA each time I pass through the area. The staff is VERY friendly and accommodating. The camp sites are well maintained. The Camping Cabins are cozy and clean. The bathrooms are ALWAYS clean. The area is beautiful with plenty to do and the staff is helpful to point campers to activities.

We pulled into the campground and were greeted seconds after we came to a stop by the friendly staff member who came out of the office. We were surprised by the incredible customer service. This is the nicest KOA we have ever had the pleasure of staying in. Private campgrounds should all be this nice. Whoever owns/manages this place really cares and it shows. Order food, free delivery, WOW.

There are a multitude of reasons why the campground was rated Best of the Year. Most deserving! The people, facilities, amenities, campsite hookups - 100%. And they smoke their meats everyday AND deliver them to your site - incredible!

�������� We stayed only one night but was there long enough to know that it is a top notch campground! Very clean and the staff was very friendly. We didn’t even have to get out of the vehicle to register, they met us at our vehicle and escorted us to our site. It is a nice wooded campground. Wish we had booked to stay longer.

We needed an overnight stay on our return trip and we selected Fancy Gap. Excellent KOA! Well maintained, clean, quiet, great amenities. The host team is friendly. Compared to the other KOAs this was the best one on this trip

Of all our KOA stays Fancy Gap is perhaps the best. Beautiful setting, extremely clean, wonderful staff, great food offerings. Bring your levelers because it is a mountainous setting but it is beautiful and wonderful!

Beautiful campground but some tree trimming needs to be done. We have a class a coach and we are only 12’9” high yet tree branches were scraped both on top and sides. I know some fifth wheels that are a foot taller. Also, the paths need gravel along the sides where the rain water drains down. It’s just a muddy ditch that would get you in real trouble if you accidentally slipped over a fe

Very relaxing stay. This has to be one of the nicest Journeys we’ve been to. Friendly staff. Clean facilities. Great little camp store. Spacious pull through sites. This was our second time there and we will definitely be back.

The campground was clean and well taken care of from the lawn,cabin, bath houses, laundry room, pool and recreation areas. There is an awesome patio by the office with tables, outdoor games. They offer fresh smoked BBQ and pizza on site. They will deliver it to your campsite. Next to the office, there is a nice game room. The staff was nice. Very peaceful campground close to Blue ridge parkway

Outstanding KOA! The customer service was amazing. The park was decorated for Halloween which was beautiful! The owners definitely take pride of ownership. They also offer food delivered to your campsite!
