This is one of the best KOA's we have ever stayed in. It was well laid out. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The dog park was conveniently located and a decent size. The pulled pork sandwiches were absolutely delicious. Everything worked as expected. We will definitely return to this particular KOA.

We have stayed in many KOAs all across the country. This is one of our favorites. Nice level pull thru sites so we don’t have to unhitch. We ordered a pizza from the office when we checked in and they delivered it right to our site. Didn’t have to cook dinner after a long day of driving. Nice clean bathrooms and laundry room. Staff are all wonderful!

I have camped here for years but was a little disappointed this year when I got charged $4.75 for early arrival. I even called before I came to make sure the site was opened and was never told I would be charged. If the site is open and already cleaned, there should not be a charge for early check in. Very disappointed. Otherwise, it’s a great campground.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

An early check-in consist of more utilities. campgrounds calculation the rate based on hours stayed using the site. Arriving 3 hours before check-in is excessive and should be charged accordingly, it is a nominal rate based on what you received.

We stayed in site 76 which is our favorite. We were there for 3 nights. Our friends stayed in the small cabin, which did not really meet their requirements. My feedback would be to improve the cabin by adding in a mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot. There would be room to do this is you removed the bunk beds.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Our campging cabins include a 1/2 bath, they are intended to be a step above tenting. We have 4 cabins that include a full kitchen, full bath and all linens. Happy to help them with any option. Health department does not allow cooking in a dwelling with only one entry. Hope that helps.

Another wonderful stay at Fancy Gap. No complaints from me. Site was great, bathroom/laundry was very clean. I tried their beef brisket sandwich with beans. And it was good. I wish they had coleslaw. The ladies at the front desk were excellent. Give this KOA a try, I believe you will be pleased.

We loved the pet pen behind our campsite. Staff was friendly and camp store was well stocked. The showers were nice and had great water pressure. Close to good eateries and Blue Ridge Pkwy is less than a mile away. Enjoy. OOga Booga!

The service staff was very helpful in leading you to your campsite upon arrival, were helpful in addressing questions, provided great BBQ onsite, and ensured bath areas were always clean. We had a nice stay and loved the shaded site we were on.

Overnight stay while traveling to other destination. Very nice campground and the staff was very friendly. The restrooms were clean and well maintained. Dave's Barbecue was very good after a long day of traveling. Will definitely stay again and will recommend to friends.

We wished we had stayed longer! We used this as a one night stay on a longer trip, but we will be back. The campground is beautiful, sites are on terraced on the mountain - all sites are very level. This was right off the Blue Ridge Parkway and close to biking and hiking trails. We also enjoyed some BBQ from the general store - delicious! Hosts were very gracious.

This was our first visit and we can see why they one the Campground of the year award! We were greeted at arrival and someone escorted us to our site. The grounds are tiered so it felt a bit more intimate and private where our spot was. Bathrooms were large and CLEAN! Grounds were well maintained as were the amenities, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful! Will definitely be back!

My first KOA experience set a very high bar. Immaculate beautiful campsites with privacy. Very clean facilities and super friendly staff. Right next to the blue ridge parkway and I77 yet you don’t hear the highway. Also some tasty homemade BBQ at the camp store. Would definitely stay here again.

I enjoyed my time with my kid's. I met some friendly people from other state's. My kid's loved playing there. The owners were so nice and welcoming. We will definitely going back.

Top Notch all the way , Beautiful campground, immaculately clean , many well thought out areas for relaxing or activities. A great variety of camp sites , with many having unique features.

Best camping experience ever. I have been camping since I was a child. I won't say how long that was but it was quite some time ago. Campsites #1, clean, spacious. Dog pen was fantastic. I loved the sign on it, love a sense of humor. A plus, plus, plus! Staff was so friendly. Laundry and store were very clean. I just can't say enough good things. We will be back. Thank-you!

We stayed 3 nights in early April. The park was extremely clean and the staff was very nice. We were met at the store/office, didn’t even have to get out of our vehicle. They gave us a campground map and there was another person in a golf cart who led us right to our site, he even brought up the bundle of firewood we ordered. The rest rooms are large, comfortable and very well maintained. A+

Update October 2026: We stayed at one of their deluxe cabins. It was quiet and scenic. Enjoyed the view of the pond. Cabin was very clean and was supplied or equipped with linens, towels, microwave, range top, full refrigerator/freezer, Keurig machine, hot shower/bath, silverware, coffee cups, drinking glasses, plates, pans, soap, shampoo. TV in bedroom and kitchen. Nice size bed, futon, bunk beds. kitchen table for 4, outside fire pit, nice deck with table and umbrella. Dog friendly but no fenced in area at this cabin. Owners were friendly and helpful. Very nice gift shop. Easy check-in and check-out. Reasonable and fair prices. Beautiful location. Cabin was very clean. Linens and towels were white and clean. Fenced yard perfect for our little dog. Nice wooden deck with table and chairs. Very nice outside sink, grill and fire pit and outside shower. Very quiet. Nice gift shop.

Outstanding KOA! The customer service was amazing. The park was decorated for Halloween which was beautiful! The owners definitely take pride of ownership. They also offer food delivered to your campsite!
