Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA General Information

General Campground Information

Store Hours: 8 AM -- 9 PM

We have a large gift store.  We sell everything from chapstick to firewood.  We have all the camping needs and offer beautiful jewelry, pottery and traditional souvenirs.  We have a small grocery section, pop, beer, wine, and liquor.  We also sell a lot of books.

Quiet Hours

Quiet hours on the campground are from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. Special events occurring during the season will result in a suspension of quiet hours, please contact the front desk for a list of event dates. No refunds will be given for suspension of quiet hours for special events.
If you are coming in late, please be respectful of everyone else. Late night arrivals are discouraged, especially in the tenting area.

Refund Policy

The Devils Tower KOA honors the National KOA one-hour refund policy for early departures. However, front desk staff are not authorized to process refund requests either in person or by telephone. All requests for refunds must be submitted to management@devilstowerkoa.com. All requests must include reservation name, address, email address, phone number and a detailed reason for the refund request. Management will assess and reply to all refund requests via email.

Cabins:

Please note that the camping cabins and deluxe cabin DO NOT include linens or bedding.
There is an $8.00 Charge for pets in the single room cabins
NO PETS are allowed in the Deluxe Cabin

Check In/Out:

Check-In is 1 pm, check-out is 11 am. All late check-outs must be approved by the office.
Due to a large increase in traffic we now charge an early and late check out fee.

Hours:

Hours vary and are posted at the main office doors. Laundry facilities are open 24 hours. Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 8 am.
In Season hours for the Registration desk and the Gift Shop are 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

Fires:

Fires are allowed in designated areas in existing grills or fire rings. No fires are allowed in the  RV areas.
 Decorative propane fire rings are allowed, but they must have an adult attending to them
  Fires built outside of a fire ring will be cause for removal from the campground and a $50.00 fine.
A community campfire is located in the upper campground area. We start a fire at 7:30 pm.  S'mores, stories, tall tales, and music are welcome to be shared around the community campfire.
Quiet hours around the campfire start at 10:00 PM.

Speed Limit:

The campground speed limit is 5 mph. Please be safe and respectful of your fellow campers as you drive.

Firewood

We sell pine firewood. It's cut, split, and delivered by a local family.

Water:

The water on the campground is potable, but we encourage campers to conserve water when possible. No washing of vehicles or RVs is allowed on site.

Visitor Policy

All visitors must stop at the front desk and get a car pass. Visitors are not allowed free use of the campground's amenities.

Pets:

Pets are welcome on a leash and owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets. Owners are encouraged to use the dog run.

There is an $8.00 charge per pet in the cabins.  Pets are NOT ALLOWED in the deluxe cabin or park model

Garbage:

Dumpsters are located  throughout the campground and all campers are responsible for disposing of their waste in an appropriate receptacle.

Firearms/Fireworks:

Absolutely no firearms or fireworks are allowed on the campround.

Drones

Drones are not allowed on the campground, the adjacent private ranch lands or the National Park Service.  Please respect the privacy of your fellow campers and the local community.  Persons operating drones will be prosecuted for trespass.

Ogden and Zannie Driskill

Welcome to Devils Tower KOA, in the shadow of Devils Tower, Americas's First National Monument and filming site of the movie "Close Encounters Of The Third Kind".

Ellen Driskill opened the KOA in 1979 on the exact filming site of the movie "Close Encounters Of The Third Kind. Ogden and Zannie Driskill are excited to carry on her legacy. They have been involved with the KOA and Devils Tower Tourism for over 35 years. They raised their three children, Andrea, Katerie, and Lincoln on the historical Campstool Ranch. The grown children are the 6th generation on the family ranch and now there is a 7th generation started. The Driskill family welcomes you to Devils Tower!
