Open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., this isn't your typical mini golf course. With 18 unique holes, stunning Wyoming scenery, and two completely different themes woven into the experience, it's part family history, part Hollywood magic, and all fun.
Best of all, mini golf is completely FREE for campers staying at Devils Tower KOA!
Not staying at the campground? No problem. Visitors are welcome to play for a small fee and enjoy one of the most unique mini golf experiences in the region.
What makes the Devils Tower KOA mini golf course so special is that every hole tells a story.
The first nine holes take players on a journey through the history of the Driskill family and Campstool Ranch, the historic ranching operation that helped shape this corner of Wyoming.
As you make your way through the front nine, you'll learn about the ranching heritage, pioneering spirit, and generations of hard work that built the legacy visitors can still experience today. The course celebrates the people, stories, and traditions that helped make the Devils Tower area what it is today.
It's a fun way to connect with local history while enjoying a little friendly competition.
Just when you think you've got the course figured out, the back nine takes a dramatic turn into the unknown.
The final nine holes are inspired by the iconic Steven Spielberg film Close Encounters of the Third Kind, the legendary science-fiction movie that made Devils Tower famous around the world.
As you play through the second half of the course, you'll encounter UFO-inspired obstacles, extraterrestrial themes, and plenty of nods to one of Hollywood's most beloved sci-fi classics.
The connection couldn't be more fitting. After all, the unforgettable climax of Close Encounters of the Third Kind takes place right here at Devils Tower.
Movie fans love spotting the references, while younger players simply enjoy the colorful, imaginative designs. Whether you're a lifelong sci-fi enthusiast or just looking for a fun afternoon activity, the back nine adds a playful twist that everyone can appreciate.
Mini golf is one of those rare activities that truly appeals to everyone.
Kids love navigating the obstacles and racing to get a hole-in-one. Parents enjoy the friendly competition. Grandparents appreciate a relaxed activity that allows the whole family to participate together.
The course is perfect for:
Family vacations
Camping trips
Group gatherings
Date nights
Multi-generational travel
Movie fans and history buffs alike
And unlike some activities that take hours to complete, mini golf can easily fit into your day between hiking, sightseeing, swimming, or exploring Devils Tower National Monument.
After a day of adventure, many guests find mini golf to be the perfect way to wind down.
Play a round before dinner at Campstool Cafe. Challenge your friends to a family tournament. Or see who can score the most hole-in-ones before heading over to the nightly showing of Close Encounters of the Third Kind at the campground.
As the Wyoming sun begins to set and Devils Tower stands silhouetted against the sky, there's no better place to make memories with family and friends.
Whether you're learning about the rich history of Campstool Ranch or putting your way through an alien encounter, the Devils Tower KOA Mini Golf Course offers a fun experience you won't find anywhere else.
