This was our 25th consecutive year to stay at this KOA. We have graduated from a tent site to a cabin to a lodge and now back to cabin. We have camped at this KOA under three owners. This is one of our favorite KOAs based on area location, friendliness of owners, amenities, and quality of site, I am sure we will continue to stay at Deadwood/Black Hills KOA as long as we are able!

We have stayed at this KOA before, but this was the first time in a two room cabin. We did feel like the cabin could have been cleaner - the floors were not the cleanest, there were some dust webs, and there was a bobby pin in dirt in the corner of the bedroom. There was a weird smell at first, but that could have been from the cabin being closed up. It went away when we let air in.

We had a great stay at the KOA Deadwood. Our Grand Kids loved the goats and Playground. We stayed in the deluxe cabin. It was Cute and very Clean. The owners were awesome and very helpful with every need. Thank You for a Wonderful Stay.

Fun place to stay with our kids! We used all the amenities and enjoyed our stay. The pool was clean and heated. The hosts were really nice and accommodating. Would stay again in the future.

We had a fantastic stay during the Sturgis Bike Rally. Perfect central location. This is our second year at this campground and we love the cabins and the hosts are helpful & kind. The mattresses on the queen beds in the cabins could be better. They are not comfortable, and although they may not be, they seem old and worn. We are looking forward to our 2024 Bike Rally stay!

The mattress on the bed rolls to the middle and is too soft. Blinds are damaged.

Great place to stay! I recommend it highly for everything from the location (close to Deadwood) down to the clean bathrooms. Their service is also excellent!

Our stay was great! The cabin (#1) was a perfect location - close to the KOA store, restrooms/showers, laundry, pool, & trolley pick-up...yep, trolley pick-up that takes you to downtown Deadwood ($2). The KOA grounds were immaculately kept up. Dana and Gary (our KOA hosts) were so friendly and helpful; local stuff & anything that came up! We definitely will stay here again!!

I loved the campground and area, however I was very disappointed at how they acted towards paying customers and knowingly committed fraud. They charged my grand daughter twice and called my other grand daughter a dirt bag for not paying even when she has a receipt for paying! They are unhappy people that work there and they have lousy customer service skills!

Horrible when I arrive and my cabin was switched without even asking my permission or calling and then child tax added wen my kids are all under 7 u didn't even ask. And then charge me wrongfully without my permission for other people not paying that's illegal and so wrong !!! Feel robbed vacation was ruined ! Lady was rude when I called said I gave permission I wasn't even there or knew till afte

Very highly recommended this campground! We have been coming to this one for many years now and out of all the KOA’s this one is our favorite-the owners are amazing! It has always been very clean and quiet here!

Great camp ground. Clean and well kept. Good views and easy access to the town. Need to put ceiling fans and mini frig’s in the cabins. Cabins get super hot even with the windows open.

This was a fantastic location to stay at for several nights. The owners were very helpful, kind, and welcoming! The location in proximity to deadwood is very convenient. The bathrooms, pool, and hot tub were very well maintained and clean. I would highly recommend staying here.

I stayed here 11-16 July 2026 as a female solo tent camper. I was participating in my first ever 3 Wheel Rally and had driven my Spyder from Columbia, SC. When I checked in late afternoon the staff was friendly & kind. They could tell I had been driving awhile pointed out the bathroom. I was tent camping and while there I had visitors, the resident goats & burrow all friendly and curious. The pool and hot tub were wonderful during that heat wave. The bathrooms were clean as was the camp grounds. Im hoping to return to this KOA next year. It was just so peaceful.
