The couple that runs the place were so sweet and accommodating. The campground is beautiful! The only complaints are one roll of toilet paper and one face towel for the luxury lodge is not enough when it sleeps six. The office hours are also slim. Office is closed from 10:30-3. Bathrooms are closed at checkout time (11-1) which is not good either when people want to go before hitting the road.

Absolutely the best KOA Ive stayed at.. I have traveled across the country two years now and stayed at multiple KOAs, the hosts are the most welcoming and genuine people you will come across. We did not want to leave...

The campground was quiet and friendly. The owners were always on site and doing things around the campground. The facilities were very clean, the pool was large enough for many groups, plenty of seating for the spectators. The goats and donkeys & 'mining' were a hit with the kids. We stayed in a cabin with a bathroom. It was great.

Beautiful and when my tent failed when it rain i was able to upgrade to a cabin and the cabin was amazing and the site i was at was peaceful. Great get away...

Great location, feels like you are in the woods but yet close to town. Beautiful Scenery and friendly staff. Highly recommend a stay.

The managers/owners were very friendly and helpful. I give them a 10+ star! Now the amount of flies and bugs, I was not happy with. We went to the local hardware and got fly tapes to hang and bug spray. I do get it is a wagon and not completely sealed. The hanging tapes did take care of the flies. The other beetles and such, had one crawling on me in the morning, freaked me out.

Clean and well maintained. Great local motorcycle ride routes in the area for responsible motorcycle riders. The office hours were a little odd. Maybe because it was the last week of the sites' season? Not sure but trying to guess when the office would be open was a tad confusing.

This KOA is clean and so convenient to get into Deadwood. The bathrooms were top notch as they were singles with their own shower. The cabin on the hill was completely relaxing and picturesque. Took advantage of the swimming pool, propane fire pit, but the most convenient amenity was the shuttle for $2 that picked us up at the campground ,took us into Deadwood and brought us back.Great hosts

This was our 26th consecutive stay at this KOA in the last full week in August, and we are registered for next year.. Hosts Dana and Gary go well out of their way to make certain all have a wonderful KOA experience. We have KOA'd from British Columbia to Florida and California to Ohio since 1972 and rate this KOA among the best. Campground is clean and fun with year-to-year improvements!

The Deadwood/Black Hills KOA is fantastic. We arrived moments after a violent hailstorm ripped through the area, destroying and damaging property in the area. Since there was a threat of another storm coming in later that evening, the camp hosts switched our reservation from a tent site to a cabin at no extra charge to keep us safe from the second storm. Highly recommended!! Thank you KOA!!

The host and hostess, as well as all staff we talked with were very nice and great to deal with. The campground is very clean and well kept. The pool and hot tub are clean and well maintained as well. This was our 3rd year staying during the Sturgis motorcycle rally, and we are already looking forward to our stay for next years rally! It’s a great central location.

We have stayed here many times over the years and it never disappoints. Our cabin was clean and perfect for what we needed. Bed was super comfortable. The KOA host is very friendly and helpful.

The staff there was very friendly and helpful. The area was beautiful and our family enjoyed staying in the cabin. It was nice that it had a park and pool for our daughter to enjoy. Her favorite part was feeding Pete and the goats. She was sad to leave when she couldn’t bring Pete along. Only thing that was little annoying was with the spots being so close together. We had noisy neighbors.

We rented one of the cabins and it was a great location. Super easy access to Deadwood -- in fact, there is a shuttle that picks up a the KOA and drops you in town, so no need to use a car and pay expensive parking fees.

This was a fantastic location to stay at for several nights. The owners were very helpful, kind, and welcoming! The location in proximity to deadwood is very convenient. The bathrooms, pool, and hot tub were very well maintained and clean. I would highly recommend staying here.

I stayed here 11-16 July 2026 as a female solo tent camper. I was participating in my first ever 3 Wheel Rally and had driven my Spyder from Columbia, SC. When I checked in late afternoon the staff was friendly & kind. They could tell I had been driving awhile pointed out the bathroom. I was tent camping and while there I had visitors, the resident goats & burrow all friendly and curious. The pool and hot tub were wonderful during that heat wave. The bathrooms were clean as was the camp grounds. Im hoping to return to this KOA next year. It was just so peaceful.
