We rented the covered wagon which to us was worth the money. The king sized bed alone was worth it. Loved the full sized gas grill. Our granddaughters loved the 4 goats (might have been dwarf goats). It was a positive experience. Bathrooms were clean.

Stay 9/2025 was excellent and the Conestoga Wagon was immaculate and so clean. Restrooms are spotless and the couple checking us in were so helpful and friendly. Deadwood is right down the road.

We were very pleased from the time we checked in. The staff were all very nice and welcoming. Very attentive and accommodating. The cabin we stayed in was very cozy and comforting, On site store was very convenient, clean,organized and very helpful for the essential needs that we had forgotten. This was our 27th consecutive stay at Deadwood/Black Hills, and was excellent as always. We have tented, cabined, and lodged through the years. We are always there the same weekend as we attend an Deadwood annual event. Co-hosts Dana and Gary are so hospitable, go out of their way to assist, and have become friends. This past year many minor improvements were made and they made a difference.

Excellent housing in a cabin. More bathrooms would be nice for the number of guests staying in the back. There were outhouses set up which indicates to me they know they have a problem.

The cabin could've been a bit more clean, dirty floors, etc. The sites were tight. The pool and hot tub were nice, as was the store. The shuttle pick up was convenient. The wifi was good. The public bathrooms were conveniently positioned.

This was our 4th year staying at the Deadwood KOA during the Sturgis Rally. The owners, Gary and Dana are great! The campground quiet, the bathrooms are very clean. It’s set in the side of a hill with a beautiful view. The little store/office offers a little bit of everything, and a nice pool and hot tub! Highly recommend!!

Basic cabin no issues and very close to Deadwood, only thing I do not agree with is the overpriced cabins while the Sturgis week event. This charging 259.99 per night for a basic cabin. These cabins only have a bed and electric nothing else.

Gary & Dana, the Owners, leave their personal touch ALL OVER the Deadwood / Black Hills KOA! They're very friendly and willing to help. It's real convenient to Deadwood, Lead and the Mickelson Trail. It's super-clean and well-kept. It's a fun and interesting place. It's got a mini-donkey and goat zoo! Can't wait to stay there again. We should upgrade to the deluxe cabin or covered wagon.

Great place to stay. They are so accommodating with everything. Talk about a handy and must stay if you are near Deadwood. Our grandkids could not get enough of the donkeys and goats and swimming was any everyday thrill.

1) Staff very friendly and helpful 2) Cabin was clean when we arrived 3) Bathrooms, showers were clean and well maintained 4) One night there was a group who were outside being loud after the 10 pm quiet time; we called the office and someone was out there immediately; spoke to them and the problem was solved. Would definitely stay here again.

The hosts were awesome! The only issue I would suggest correcting is the bed in our cabin #3. I have a bad issue, and the mattress is extremely soft, and appears to need to be replaced. Besides this issue I would strongly recommend this KOA.

We had a wonderful stay at the Deadwood KOA, our hosts Gary and Dana were friendly and very helpful. The cabin we stayed in was clean and very comfortable. The views from the deck were great. It was very nice that the Deadwood trolley stopped at the KOA so we didn't have to drive into town to enjoy Deadwood. Would highly recommend the Deadwood KOA.

My 2 teenage nephews and I had such an amazing stay at the KOA Deadwood. We only stayed 2 nights but we wish we could have stayed longer! We stayed in one of the Conestoga wagons and it was a blast! The king sized bed was so comfortable and my nephews loved the bunk beds. There was a tv in there that we never used, though some families may. But it had air conditioning! That worked!

I stayed in one of the nice cozy cabins. Originally, I only reserved one night, but after checking out and my travels the following day, I was able to make it back to the location for a 2nd night. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this KOA!

Had to do some cleaning when we first arrived. Red dyed hair in the sink, dirt under the sink. Inclement weather would have made cooking hard as only had a gas grill outside, unless you used the micro wave to cook. Staff was very friendly and helpful at check-in and during the stay with questions I had.

The first cabin we were given the floors were filthy, it stunk of Lysol, and was right on top of a tent site. We were lucky that a nicer cabin was available but the water was hooked up to a hose so the pressure was terrible and the hot water kept shutting down after only a couple minutes. Either scalding hot or ice cubes, not warm. The hot tub was filthy. It sounded like a party, not peaceful.

The place was great. The primitive cabins were great. Nice and quiet. The mattress could be better for a long stay. The one that would be nice is a dedicated restroom. Having to wait for the restroom while people are showering is a little inconvenient but other than that all was great!!!

We stayed in the luxury wagon and it was a lot of fun. It was extra nice having air conditioning in the wagon because it was rather hot during our stay.

The couple that runs the place were so sweet and accommodating. The campground is beautiful! The only complaints are one roll of toilet paper and one face towel for the luxury lodge is not enough when it sleeps six. The office hours are also slim. Office is closed from 10:30-3. Bathrooms are closed at checkout time (11-1) which is not good either when people want to go before hitting the road.

Great location in the Black Hills. Convenient location to Deadwood and area for sightseeing. The pool wasn't open yet. The restroom and shower area was always very clean. The host was friendly and helpful. My only concern is the RV sites are small and don't provide much privacy.

This KOA was a nice place to stay. It is on a hill with 4 'steps' carved into the hill to stay on. Larger campers should stick to the lower levels. We have a van camper and we had a spot at the top. The view was spectacular. The camp is quiet with hill top cabins, all with great views. The laundry room had newer equipment and each rest room had it's own shower. The pool was closed, maybe it opens in June, we were there in late May. The trolly into town is nice...we chose to hike. While the park does have a few rough spots, it was a beautiful and quiet place to camp.

Wow, this place is beautiful! Check out the adorable Conestoga Wagons and some of the remodeled rooms! Clean bathrooms and showers, nice playground, great trolley that brings you right into downtown Deadwood. Very peaceful!
