Days of 76
The Days of '76, which also includes parades on Deadwood's Historic Main Street, has been a staple each summer in Deadwood for 97 years. And since 1998, Deadwood has been honored as the rodeo committee of the year 17 times, the first four in the Small Outdoor Rodeo category and all eleven of the Medium Rodeo Committee awards since that category was created in 2004. Deadwood is also a 13-time winner of the Badlands Circuit Rodeo of the Year Award (1998-2010) . The committee has increased the prize money 600 percent over the last 22 years and in July 2011 the Days of 76 Committee was inducted into the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame.
Sturgis Motorcycle Rally
The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is an American motorcycle rally held annually in Sturgis, South Dakota, for ten days usually starting the first Friday in August. It was begun in 1938 by a group of Indian Motorcycle riders and was originally held for stunts and races. Attendance has historically been around 500,000 people, reaching a high of over 700,000 in 2015.
Kool Deadwood Nights
Every summer, more than ten thousand car enthusiasts cruise to the Historic City of Deadwood, in the famous Black Hills of South Dakota to indulge in a 4 day trip down memory lane into Deadwood's largest annual event, Kool Deadwood Nites. Kool Deadwood Nites is a popular gathering of beautiful classic cars, custom hot rods, 50's and 60's classic concerts with of course, dancing in the streets! All in addition to Historic Deadwood favorites, the shopping, the food, the drinks, and of course, the casinos!
The Jam's always been a premiere outdoor music festival in the region, and this year it will be on display for all at no charge.The 30th Annual Deadwood Jam will kick off on Thursday, September 17, with the annual Art and Jam Auction fundraiser at Jacob's Art Gallery on Main Street. Attendees will enjoy light hors d'oeuvres while they bid on an array of art, from sculptures to paintings and photography by local Black Hills artists. The live auction begins at 5 p.m. A silent auction will coincide, and will continue through Saturday, when the highest bidders will be announced from the main stage.On Friday, September 18, the live musical performances kick off with a triple header featuring three high energy acts all known for electrifying performances.Saturday, September 19, features line-up headliner.
Wild Bill Days
Celebrate the life and times of one of Deadwood's most famous gunslinger—Wild Bill Hickok. See big name artists and your favorite bands perform live concerts on Main Street all weekend long. Headline concerts are Friday and Saturday night. Along with the awesome free concerts, you can also check out the National Dock Dogs Competition, watch (or participate in) a classic car auction, learn the tricks of gold panning and sluicing from Northern Hills Prospectors, right on Historic Main Street!
