This is our 7th year in a row coming to this campsite for a large family gathering. This was the first year that I felt the facilities were “gross”. The bathrooms weren’t cleaned one single time I n the 3 days that we were there. The bathrooms and showers have always been very nice. Not this year! Great location, enjoyed the beach, well stocked store, unfortunately the cabins were in need a thorough cleaning and poorly stocked in the kitchen and no washcloths at all.

Only downside was lots of fruit flies in the cabin bathroom. Bought a fly trap and it got better. Overall, great resort!

Friendly helpful staff. Cabin was clean and comfortable. I appreciated the full kitchen set up. Cabin size was just right. Beautiful beach to watch the sunset. I will be back!

The only problem we had is that our cabin was full of fruit flies! We were walking into them in every room. It was bad! Everybody was so super friendly except one gentleman that was working Sunday 9/28th made a rude comment to my daughter about not bringing our dog by the pool no hello, no greeting, just dogs are not allowed. He could’ve said it in a friendly manner. Overall, it was a good st

Thank you for having us, I truly appreciated the hospitality of the front desk staff they were very kind, approachable and helpful during our visit. The kids loved all the amenities and it was definitely a family friendly atmosphere. Our highlights were the pool, arcade, golf cart and jump pad:) We hope to return and enjoy more activities and fun.

The bed was horrible. There was dog hair on the kitchen floor and we did not bring a dog. Beach, pool and bar were nice.

We rented an oyster point cabin and were overall disappointed with our stay. We felt the cabin was very dirty upon arrival (dirty floors, crumbs all over the couch, infested with gnats inside, missing sheets/pillows stained walls), had issues with getting our key/entry, no air flow/vent in the guest room, and felt the on-site restaurant was not family friendly.

Location and privet beach it’s everything! Also dog friendliness and dog beach - just wonderful. Very friendly staff. Cabin wasn’t very clean. Especially bathroom - shower doors had still soap and dirt after previous guests. Sheets are so wrinkled that you can’t be sure are there clean or wasn’t changed after previous people. Very expensive cabin stay. Almost nothing from grocery in store.

The safari tent was clean and well-equipped with all the amenities. The KOA location was excellent. The bathhouse could have been maintained better—out of three toilets, one was out of toilet paper and another was clogged. The main office closes at 8 p.m., which was earlier than expected, but a 24/7 gas station nearby was convenient. The office staff was friendly and welcoming.

My third time staying at Chesapeake/KOA in Cape Charles in September. The weather, of course, has a lot to do with me having a great time all three times. Beach, pool, campfires, and dancing on Friday and Saturday nights! Remember to take bug repellent and strips to catch gnats in your cabin. Renting a golf cart is a must! So much fun! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Relaxing vacation!

We booked one of the cabins for a little getaway , the cabin was great . It was clean and very accommodating. The entire staff from the time we checked in till the time we left were very helpful and friendly. The Sunset Grille had really good food .The beach was clean and well maintained. We are already planning another weekend getaway there .

The cabin was filthy and infested with gnats. We were told that check-in was 3pm. We arrived and were told the cabin wasn’t ready and didn’t get in until 4:15. We had 2 toddlers we were trying to keep entertained. We were also told that the restaurant would be open. Well it wasn’t. No remedy was offered for the gnat problem. Gnats were only in the cabins. Rver’s didnt seem to have them.

We recently stayed in one of the cabins- the a/c in our bedroom didn't work, the oven didn't work. There was a gnat infestation. While towels were provided, washcloths and hand soap were not. The broom had huge clumps of dog hair, the bathroom fan has never been cleaned. Some of the staff was very polite while others greatly lacked customer service skills. We will not be staying at the KOA again.

We stayed this past weekend in a deluxe cabin in the 800's. First off, we loved the safety & freedom for all the kiddos, front office staff, and loved the beautiful beach! Unfortunately there are a couple of things- cabin floors were disgusting! Dog fur everywhere. Needed a good vacuum & mopping. Went to the bar and the older bar tender was super not happy to be there. It was very nice. Cabin was not as clean as use to. There were knats swarming and we found it was from old onions a prior guest left in a drawer. Also, we only had 1 extra roll of toilet paper , and the body soap was completely out. Couch was not vacuumed. Tons of dirt and sand when we lifted up the pull out bed to make. The campground and staff were very nice.

My mother and I stayed in a cabin with screened-in porch. The cabin size was nice. Screen to the porch door was broken. Two blinds in the living/dining room area were broke. The 2 tvs had a snowy picture. Shampoo pump in the shower was empty. We were provided one hand towel, no facecloths, and 4 bath towels. Forks were child size. There were no ice trays. This KOA is a one and done for us.

Overall great family vacation however, few minor issue. Shower was leaking and not enough towels because we had to soak up the water. Called down to ask for more and never got a response back. Also experienced some electrical issues in the main bedroom. My son had his charger plugged in the bunk bed room, and the main bedroom tv would shut off.

I was not happy with the glamping tent that I booked, I went to the office in. They were very pleasant, understood my situation and upgraded me to a cabin at no cost. I was so happy.

The campground is nice. The beach/pool are nice. But, there were really no activities going on during our labor day weekend stay, which seemed odd. The $400 a night cabin was FULL of gnats. Kids got bored. Probably won't go back.

We stayed at a cottage this is the first time here. Great access to the beach and pool. The other campers present were quiet and respectful, not a lot of loud noise or music even on the one night it was crowded. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed. Loved the attached front screened in porch. Comfortable temperature

I have very mixed opinions about our stay. The campground itself was very clean. The cabin on the other hand was nasty. Ceiling fans have never been dusted baseboards we’re disgusting, bathroom sink didn’t drain so we couldn’t use it, the couch was ripped up and dirty, the smell in the cabin smelt like old cigarettes, the floor was so dirty that after you got out of the shower your feet were

Exceptional location , accomadiating staff ,beautiful shore front sunrises and sunsets,good food with average prices and a return customer for 10 yrs.Would love to do a once in a lifetime seasonal deal in 2026 but my situation will not allow.Anyone interested in seasonal should inquire.

Check in was super easy... love the escort. Love the beach, the sunsets, the restaurant, and most of all the staff. They are always waving and smiling at the campers. The grounds are manicured.
