Great campground for families. Well maintained. Bugs are a nuisance and would deter me from returning. After hours emergency number should be monitored and not sent to voicemail (with no return follow up).

We have stayed in Cottage 209 for 3 years. The couch is completely worn out & I was unable to sit on it or use it for sleeping. The mattresses on the beds need replacing. For the $$, it is not worth it. A comfortable place to sit & nice sleeping quarters are what we pay for. Neither was suitable and it's expensive for the quality of the stay. For that reason, I would not recommend it.

Robin’s staff works very hard to keep the park nice for all. We have been coming to this KOA for 4 years and still enjoy our time there.

Bartenders were great. Healthier food choices would be good. Bugs were a problem. We rented a cabin. It was nice but could use a fan to help with bugs, more hooks, another mirror outside bathroom.

as usual the sunsets are breathtaking. we left motorhome at home this trip and rented cabin. something felt off this trip, cleanliness was not as usual, grass not trimmed, litter along the edges. Just not as kept as all our previous trips. Now the cabin, it was far from clean, debris in lower cabinets, scum on bathroom walls and shower, dust and dirt on baseboards, sticky floor.

This is our favorite campground! We’ve been coming here for the past 3 years and it never disappoints. The staff is always friendly and welcoming and the amenities are fantastic. From the beautiful sunsets to relaxing by the pools and enjoying private cabanas, we always have an amazing time. We look forward to returning next year!

Beautiful location. The facilities themselves are getting a little old and beat up. Examples, only one key given per cottage, no bug repellent at the store, no coffee maker in the cottage, damage on the refrigerator and microwave, bed creaked if there was any movement what so ever, toilet sat at an angle, picnic benches had seats that curved up. They need to put some money back into the sites

The place is lovely, the staff is very friendly, and everything is clean and tidy. My children enjoyed the activities, and we enjoyed the beach; it’s an excellent place, and we will definitely be back next year.

Main campsite was clean but the bugs were horrible. Gnats at the campsite made us go inside and the beach and playground were unusable for our toddlers.

Very nice campground. Well maintained and friendly staff. We've stayed here the last few summers in late August and have always enjoyed our stay.

We love Cape Charles/Chesapeake Bay KOA! The location is perfect, the beach is amazing, great dog park. Its nice to see familiar faces as we return year after year. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the condition of the campground. As a KOA resort and the cost of the sites, general upkeep of the campground is lacking.

Great stay for the most part. I’ve stayed here many times. The bathrooms need to be cleaned more often. The toilets become gross quickly. I know you can’t control gross people but cleaning is your responsibility. Also, invest in a pressure washer to clean the dirty showers. Lastly, invest in one of those beach cleaning things. The beach is nice but I think it could be great if swept/cleaned.

Its a beautiful campground with spacious sites, pool, beach and views. This was our 2nd time and was still great. The only issues was the bathroom by the pool was disgusting and the trash around the campground. We did arrive right after a hoilday weekend so we understand some guests are not considerate of others. The staff did get everything cleaned but it was a bit upsetting.

We were too nice! We should have requested a refund within the hour. The staff was too apathetic to care. They looked on as we packed up to leave early after complaining about the bugs. They were just waiting for us to leave so there was one less site to have to clean up. Unsafe, unclean, loaded with bugs, dirty pool and constant septic odor everywhere! I am lodging a formal complaint.

We would have enjoyed our stay much more if your employees permanent campsite did not have a SPOT Light that shined right into our campsite. They turned it on and LEFT it on even after they went inside. We paid good money to stay at your campground and to have a spot light shining on us all evening really turned what would have been a great stay into a mediocre one at best. We are repeat customer

Had a great time. Everyone is so friendly. Only complaint is the bathrooms for the pools could have been cleaner. Recommend someone check on them through out the day to clean and stock supplies.

We stayed in a cabin. Beds were decent. Everything else was just meh. We had several friends staying in campers and requested to be across from them. We were a street over which is a bummer. We asked if we could change and the guy at check in said “you get what you get, I got you a cabin didn’t I?” The rudeness didn’t stop there - the outside bartenders are awful! We won’t be back.

It is one thing to be at a site next to employees. The big issue was one of the residents of the site was smoking pot like it was their job. Ok that is fine, but have some respect for others. We don’t want to smell it all day and certainly don’t want the lingering smell on our dogs. Not only that but coming over to us to tell us their dogs were in heat if we wanted to breed.

The campground was okay. At times the shower rooms could’ve been cleaner. The flies and the gnats were horrible. So bad that you couldn’t even sit at the beach some days. Someone stole my beach towel and a hat.

My wife and I aren’t sure what is happening but the condition of the place over all was rundown. The pool was cloudy and the oil and scum on the tiles around the sides of the pool obviously wasn’t cleaned in a while. After using the men’s bathroom a few times and it was disgustingly filthy I went to the front desk to let them know. My wife said the females was the same way. Never corrected.

Stayed on lot 822. Shaded which was great bc it was hot. Friendly staff at check in and with firewood purchase. Rental guy on beach very friendly and ensured that only KOA guests using beach. Only negative is that the seaweed that comes up on the sand is not removed. Sometimes it smells and it takes up space where you could be sitting. On a small beach that's important.

We come every year, but this year was one of the worst for biting flies and gnats. I wish they would have a professional spray around campsite. They got so bad we had to leave the beach. They weren’t much better back at the campsite.

This labor day weekend for awful! Too many swamp flies, and mosquitoes throughout the compound. Trash cans were overflowing which did not help with the insect issues. The bath houses were down right disgusting. On a positive note, the check in staff was very professional and the kid activities were spot on. I will be hard pressed to return to this KOA, which was one of my favorites.

The rates have gotten outrageous for Labor Day weekend. While we love it there and are likely to come back, the rates are making it difficult to encourage friends & family to join us. The flies were terrible this year. Would be nice if we were offered tips to help, rather than just having bug spray available for purchase at the store.

Staff incredibly helpful and the facilities were clean and well maintained. Proximity to beach was fantastic as was the beach bar and restaurant. Flies and bugs were horrible. I think you need to invest in having the property fogged weekly to keep the bugs down.

Unfortunately your campground should be concidered a journey. The sites are too small and not level enough . We have never had to us as many blocks to level our camper as we did when we stayed. I even asked if the spots were spacious and was told yes hey were your best. Well they were too small and awkward. We had to pay 65.00 for blocks that cost us 25.00 honestly you should reimburse us.

Does not meet the KOA expectations I’m used to experiencing. No upgrades/improvements over the last few years. The Jack Spot cafebar seem to now be run by a Manager that does not cater to the KOA guest but rather does the opposite. 2nd year we have encountered issues with her. She is running your guest off. We will not be returning. Had this been my first visit to a KOA I would avoid them all.

Great campground couple of suggestions for improvements: the paper towel holders need replaced or use different paper towel rolls, they don’t turn the beach is great but needs to have the debris scraped off as it was a horrible attractant for biting flies. And some campsites are too close together

Everyone was very friendly but the phones to the front desk and maintenance were not working. We arrived to a dirty cabin with no sheets, no towels, or blankets, among items. We finally got our linens at 8:30 p.m. our first night.

Kitchen had ants. Cabin needs an overall cleaning and maintenance. The location was great. Beach was nice, would be nicer if they cleaned it up a bit. Staff was nice when checking in. When we went to get ice cream, staff member turned her back to us while we waited and never acknowledged us. Same staff member turned lights out on us while playing games when there were 15 min before closing.

This place used to be amazing but now it’s extremely downgrading. Bathrooms are dirty 24/7, short on staff, beach is dirty, campground in general is neglected, no more trash pickup and dumpsters are full, trash pilled on ground , not to mention mosquitoes/black flies everywhere to the point that you can’t enjoy the beach, sitting out or cooking. It’s a disaster! Hope it gets sold again!

I am submitting a formal complaint regarding my recent stay at your campground. The conditions were unacceptable, unsafe, and far below what was advertised, forcing us to leave early. From the moment we arrived, the grounds were overrun with biting flies. The infestation was so severe that we could not sit outside at all. The flies were getting inside our camper and biting both us and our puppy

Exceptional location , accomadiating staff ,beautiful shore front sunrises and sunsets,good food with average prices and a return customer for 10 yrs.Would love to do a once in a lifetime seasonal deal in 2026 but my situation will not allow.Anyone interested in seasonal should inquire.

Check in was super easy... love the escort. Love the beach, the sunsets, the restaurant, and most of all the staff. They are always waving and smiling at the campers. The grounds are manicured.
