For many years, Camper Mary A, Santee has made beautiful quilts for our Care Camps Raffle. This past year, the number of quilts made on her dining room table has reach 665. A special message is always found on the quilts and this one reads: "Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around."
We at KOA salute Mary for her leadership, caring, and dedicated help with our Care Camps Fundraising weekends. A number of items are raffled at both Care Camp Weekends: May 11/12 and October 12/13, 2018

2018 NEWS! This summer brought yet another increase in funds for the KOA Cancer Care Camps for Kids by recycling. aluminum cans. Thanks to our seasonal camper, Lynn Canham, he collected 5 cent returnable cans and turned them into cash. The amount of $600 in cans was collected and brought to the Alpo Recycling center in Farmington.
Thanks, Lynn, for leading the way. He hopes to increase the amount of cans for 2018. You can help by recycling your cans by putting them in the special containers and not in the regular trash. Lynn even takes any aluminum cans that add up to lots of cash for the KOA Care Camps. You can find him at campsite 57.
