The staff here were very friendly. They were able to answer all our questions about the area. The office and store area were clean, restrooms were very clean, camping spots were clean, but forest floor, so dirt. Very much enjoyed our stay and will return.

The 50s section needs to be flattened out as it is very rocky and unlevel, other then that our stay was good.

This campground is well cared for and very clean. It is spacious and one of the best campgrounds we have ever stayed in. We appreciate all of your efforts to maintain a quality camping experience. Wish we had been able to try the breakfast at the cafe!! Thank you. Marsha and Ken

Nice place, nice people, but strong sewer smell by the laundry.
Sep 20, 2025
The staff were friendly and helpful. The sewer connection was too deep in the concrete making it impossible to properly secure the 90 degree sewer connection to it. Otherwise, a pleasant stay and no other complaints.

Highly recommend this beautiful campsite near Burney. The staff is helpful and efficient, the bathrooms are clean and plentiful and the views of the pond are beautiful. We’ll definitely be coming back!

The women bathroom needed to be cleaned more often.

Beautiful location and property. The staff is first rate, special thanks to Joy. The cabins are a little claustrophobic, number 4 would be my choice over number 2 because of the decks and privacy. Both cabins bathrooms were a little primitive. Overall we were very happy with our stays, one on the way to Oregon and one again on the way back home.

Great place to hangout for a while. Enjoyed the weather and people.

These sites were well sized but they were very unlevel. Even though we have auto level it still required quite of bit of manual leveling to get it right. The campground was very peaceful and filled with very friendly campers. The laundry room was clean so I used it.

Everything was okay but if you think you had no outside water for the cabin you didn't have any trash cans out there by the cabins we have four cabins no trash cans but besides that they were clean and decent the staff was very friendly kind of catching released in a big lake thank you

Employees are nice. Our spot was surrounded by mole hills that were not pleasant. They need to invest in WiFi upgrade. Ours was terrible.

Love this place. Spacious sites, a beautiful pond, lots of walking space, great staff, excellent Mexican dinner, cookies, sweet rolls from a sweet lady. We will return. Also 20 miles away from Mt. Lassen National Park is a bonus.

Was just a stop over for one night on our way home. Super friendly people, clean campground and facilities. Will be coming back soon.

Very nice place. Good space around you, not on top of someone else or their sewer drain. Many trees. Nice to have dog areas and bags available, although we picked up about 15 piles of other peoples dog poo in the dog area. If you had kids, great place. Play area and nice flat paved areas for bikes, etc. Lots for folks to do, horseshoes, games, etc. Nice little restaurant. Clean, well taken care of

The entire staff, SCOTT and the manager, especially were simply absolutely fantastic So accommodating in every way I had packages delivered from various carriers during my long stay there of nine days and not only did they receive them for me, but they called me when I was out and about and let me know that they had arrived even offered to drop off the packages at my campsite OUTSTANDING SER

We enjoyed the clean and quiet campground. It's a great location for visiting Burney falls and Lassen, plus fishing in Hat Creek. The folks there are very nice. We also liked the delicious Mexican food offered at the café Friday night!

Disappointed in our site. It wasn't level or wide enough to properly put down our stairs then the picnic table and fire ring were up a slope. Very dusty. Thanks for the thunderstorm. It was lovely.

I think KOA’s are great. Because they are like a tight little community where people are outside actually doing things instead of hold up inside their homes. I love seeing kids riding around on their bicycles and scooters and parents outside playing cornhole. That’s what I saw on this trip. Nice and clean and friendly.

Bathrooms were some of the best I’ve experienced at many many campgrounds, specifically KOA’s. Eventhough we did not partake in the meals at the restaurant, the offer and ability to have a good meal without leaving the campground was appreciated.

From the moment that we arrived, we could feel the magic of this KOA. Joy, at the desk greeted us and was most helpful. After seeing our coach, she recommended another site for us near the pond that proved to be lovely. Very relaxing! I had an Amazon delivery that Joy brought to our site. Since I rarely used this service, we were very impressed by her personal service.

You stayed in cabin number two and I have just a couple of notes. The larger bed is listed as a queen but it is definitely a full size bed. I sleep on a queen at home and this one is smaller. The air conditioner was loud but pumped out plenty of cool air keeping us us cool and comfortable even at the hardest part of the day. There were no bowls, cups, plates or utensils which I was surprised about because when I've stayed in other KOA cabins there were but we bought paper plates and plastic utensils. Since the shower was small, we decided to use the showers in the main main part of the campground and they were beautiful. Honestly, they are the nicest showers I've ever seen at a campground. The Wi-Fi strength was excellent, allowing my husband to watch a world cup soccer game on his iPad with no difficulties. Thanks for a great stay.

Six Stars for the Incredible Staff at Burney Falls/Hat Creek KOA! While we didn't actually camp here, I need to share how the incredible staff at this KOA saved us from what could have been a true nightmare. We had a car incident on a remote forest road nearby and our vehicle had to be towed. With zero cell phone reception in the area, a kind soul drove us to this KOA—the closest open place around. Because of the remote location, we ended up stranded here for many long, uncertain hours waiting for a tow truck that could take us all the way to Reno. From the moment we arrived, the staff—specifically Joy and Kevin, the manager—treated us with overwhelming compassion, empathy, and generosity. They immediately provided us with their Wi-Fi connection so we could coordinate with the car rental company and the highway patrol. Throughout the evening and way past midnight, they did everything possible to help us, even offering overnight accommodations if we couldn't get a ride. Thanks to them, a stressful situation felt completely safe. The kindness didn't stop with the staff; an amazing Australian family staying at the campground even offered us some of their freshly baked pizza, which warmed our spirits during a tough night. A tow truck finally arrived and we were able to leave at 1:30 AM. We drove away with so much gratitude in our hearts. To the caring Australian family: thank you for the pizza. To Joy: thank you for your deep concern and your incredibly generous offer to drive us to Reno yourself if needed. To Kevin: thank you for providing so much more than just a safe shelter. Good Samaritans absolutely do exist. If you stay or visit here, know that you are in the absolute best hands.
