I was so excited for how much participation we had on our opening weekend in 2017. This is a new tradition - come camping with us on opening weekend where you pay for Friday night and get Saturday night for a minimum $20 donation to care camps. Not only will you enjoy the excitement of our first weekend of the season, with all it has to offer - games, wagon rides, movie night, ice cream social, and a morning craft of potting your own flowers to take home and celebrate the Spring season, BUT it's also the OPENING WEEKEND OF FRYDAY – Sabrina's Chip wagon – come try the delicious fares. We will finish our weekend off with a yummy pancake breakfast.
I absolute love Chili and I know I am not alone in this love. We've decided to plan a Chili cook-off weekend. AND we are looking for Chili entries to the Cook-Off contest. Bring a large pot of Chili to share with the campground and we will ask those who taste the chili to vote on their favourite. A prize goes to the winning Chili with the most votes. We've got some super fun stuff planned for the kids as well. It will be a Star Wars Themed weekend so bring your costumes and participate in our activities – crafts, movie night, wagon rides, etc. Along with a CHILLY plunge in to the pool that will be open but NOT heated as of yet. A hot chocolate treat will be given to every child or adult that partakes in the Chilly Plunge. Enjoy a weekend of good eats and good toots!
This is the nationally celebrated Care Camps weekend that most KOA's participate in. Come camping with us on Friday night and for a minimum $20 donation to Care Camps you get Saturday night included. We have a superb weekend planned for families. We have wagon rides, movie night, craft time (cards for mom of course), picture find/scavenger hunt games, Ice Cream social as usual. To raise more money for Care Camps we will also be selling tickets to a dance and silent auction - BYOB. Finish the weekend off with a scrumptious pancake breakfast to be served on Sunday morning. We will have the pool heated for this weekend.
This weekend is all about the cowboys and cowgirls. Put on your cowboy hats and pull up your boots as we do bull riding, lasso contests, and more. And one evening we will have a country line dancing party. If you don't know how to line dance, come out for a few lessons! We'll have our regular activities follow the country theme as well, with a country craft and movie. Y'all don't wanna miss this.
Don't be surprised to see random visits all weekend from fun Cartoon Characters. Come with t-shirts or fully dressed as your favourite cartoon character. We will have lots of games for all our costumed campers to play. All the regular events will be going on as well; craft time, photo ops, and cartoons at movie night. All the regular events will be going on as well.
Enjoy all the fun of magic and playing pretend. We will have a treasure hunt where our "pirates" will have to follow the map to where X marks the spot and find the hidden treasure. Organized activities for all the kids to play. Don't forget to take a ride on the wagon ride and sail for new lands. Movie night and playing in our pirate ship playground will round out the perfect weekend. Pancake breakfast will wrap up this super-fun princessy weekend.
We will have a sand castle making contest, beach volleyball and yummy summer Pina Coladas or Daiquiris will be served (suitable for all ages). We'll have games around the pool like diving for rings and beach ball races and of course all the regular activities, wagon rides, crafts, scavenger hunts/games, ice cream social, and movie night.
A whole weekend about barbecue and beer? There will be a barbecue of hamburgers and hot dogs and green beer!! Dads eat free but there's a $2 charge for the beer. The kids will enjoy searching for a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow as well as a St. Patrick's themed craft. All of our usually scheduled activities such as movie night and wagon rides will be going on as well.
We've decided to do a flashback to the 70's themed weekend. Hippies, tie dye, and a high school dance party. We will make tie dyed t-shirts. All the usual fun stuff to do, like craft time and scavenger hunts will round out this weekend as the best Schools Out party ever. And pancake breakfast on the Sunday – simply because School's OUT for Summer!!!!
This week is a big party. We're going to have a Digital Scavenger Hunt to help you all commemorate a great week. BRING YOUR CAMERAS AND SMART PHONES – This is a family competition. First family to complete it wins a prize. Fireworks will help us celebrate with a Bang. We will have Casino time for the adults (blackjack and poker). And we will play chocolate bar bingo as well. PLEASE BRING A PRESENT SPECIFICALLY FOR YOUR CHILD WRAPPED WITH THEIR NAME ON IT TO EXCHANGE ON SATURDAY – Make it a secret so each child gets something their parents know they want. Christmas themed crafts will make everyone happy. To round out the week we will continue our fun activities and events with themed crafts and movie nights and wagon rides etc.
This weekend is such a blast. We will be bringing out the slip ‘n' slide. The wagon will be loaded with water fun – a huge water gun fight with water guns on the wagon and water guns on the ground. Bring your own guns or water bottles (OR HOSES). Biggest splash contest will be loads of fun – soaking more than just those jumping into the water. Movies and crafts and all of our usual activities will be part of the fun.
I am a sucker for colour. Whenever I see a shirt or a painting or anything at all that's rainbow or a bunch of different colours it makes me happy. So, we decided to theme this weekend all around colour. The fireworks will be a burst of rainbow colours in the sky. For craft we will be painting with colours (I am trying to get a professional painter to come and do a painting class for anyone interested so if that happens there will be a charge added for the canvas/paint). We will do Tie Dying as well one morning to make this weekend even more colour focused. Bring your own white shirt or pillow case or one can be purchased from us.
We will all be joining in the fun – dress up as your favourite super hero or super villain. Play our defeat your villain game - everyone gets to pick a super hero card and then they have to adventure around the campground until they find the villain card that matches their super hero. When you find it, come tell us where you found it for a prize! And a digital Bingo game – everyone gets a bingo card with pictures of super heroes on it. The goal is to get a line of photos – bonus' for those who get a full card.
So, this weekend is all dedicated to just being a kid. We'll have a balloon artist who will make balloon art – animals or swords etc. We are planning face painting again. And the inflatable obstacle course. Lots of games, crafts and other fun things to do all weekend long. Please note, the face painter will have their own charge. To top it off, a pancake breakfast on Sunday morning.
Come enjoy some amazing corn on the cob on us. With so many wineries in the area, many people come and stay here and then go take a tour of all the wineries. Well, we wanted to add to the fun by having our very own wine tasting right at the campground We are attempting to arrange a wine tour bus to take people around during the day and then we will do our wine tasting party back at the campground again. We had a guest who had just retired from the LCBO and told me that it was the best and most fun wine tasting he'd ever been to..... if you like wine, and laughter – come check it out. $15 per person charge for the wine tasting at the KOA. Details on the tour around the County to follow.
This is one of my favourite weekends. It's where we get to reward all of the Value Kard holders with a free night of camping. If you are a valid Value Kard holder and a regular of the Brighton KOA, you come camping on Friday night, then Saturday night is on us. We want to thank all of you campers who camp here on such frequency that we feel like you are family. As such, this weekend is not available for booking online. You must call us to reserve. We will have lots of games and activities going on as well and a pancake breakfast on Sunday morning.
Took us a while to figure out what we wanted to do since Applefest is moved to the last weekend of the month this year and we finally feel totally excited about an Amazing Race weekend. We will have a series of events set up and families can compete together against other family teams around the campground. Be prepared to eat or drink something that looks totally sketchy! And bring your physical prowess to do the other activities faster than the other families. The first place winning family will be awarded a prize. And of course, bragging rights.
This is a very popular weekend in this region as Applefest is very well known and a big deal in Brighton. To add to the fun, we will have apple bobbing set up for anyone who wants to test their skills. Craft time will be making caramel apples. Expect all the usual activities and games as well. We will also have a pancake breakfast – topped with apples if you choose on Sunday morning.
This is an amazing weekend to remember all the things we have to be thankful for. Honestly, what
better thing to be thankful for than spending time with family and eating Turkey!!! We have lots of fun
events planned for this Thanksgiving Long Weekend: pumpkin bowling, pumpkin ring tossing, crafts,
scavenger hunts/games, wagon rides, movie night, and the ultimate catered turkey dinner with all the fixings. And even more fun added is that it's also our 1st Halloween. Saturday is dedicated to Halloween and Sunday to Thanksgiving including the delicious turkey dinner.
This is our final weekend for the season. We are excited to celebrate an early Halloween as our 2nd Halloween weekend in a row. We will have pumpkin carving, decorating your site, and trick or treating in full costume. Bring your decorations, but please keep them age appropriate. We have a lot of younger kids at our campground so nothing too scary please. Bring your costumes and please remember to also bring candy to hand out to all the trick or treaters. We'll be doing another late night scary wagon ride which I know will be a HUGE hit again because we scared so many of you in 2016 and 2017 – it was so fun!!!
Racing on dirt...as it should be! Located only 10 minutes from the campground, you won't want to miss the opportunity to see these races. The Brighton Speedway hosts all sorts of different kinds of races, so be sure to check out their schedule in the link below to get full details.
