Shopping Day Trip – Southern Vermont

Shopping Day Trip – Southern Vermont

Southern Vermont has some great shopping where you can find gifts for your friends, family, or yourself. From the gift shop right here at the Brattleboro North KOA Journey to catalog classics. We will help you find exactly what you are looking for. Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the names and addresses of all the businesses listed in this blog post.

Start your day here at the Brattleboro North KOA gift shop where you can find everything from locally made maple syrup to stickers, stuffed animals, and apparel. We also have a variety of RV supplies that you may need during your trip in Southern Vermont. Our favorite spot in the store is our locally made section where you will find handmade jewelry, cards, and home goods.

Now we are going to zip down to exit one on I-91 to the Vermont Marketplace. Recently renovated, this collection of shops and soon restaurants as well. There are some amazing stores that are always there: Northeast Mountain Footwear, The Good Spot, and The Vermont Gift Emporium just to name a few. The Vermont Gift Emporium has a huge array of locally crafted goods from upcycled feed bags to delicious Salsas.

Next, we are heading into Downtown Brattleboro. You can spend a full day just here but here are a few of our favorite spots. Sam’s Outfitter is our favorite place to find anything we may need for life outdoors. This family-owned business started back in 1932 and is in its third generation. They have expanded to a total of three department stores with the other two in Keene, NH and Hadley, MA.

Looking for something more unique? Head over to Boomerang, this store has an eclectic mix of new and consigned items. Look closely and you will find some great vintage items here. Their hand-picked items will have something for everyone. Kat found her favorite jean jacket perusing the racks at Boomerang Brattleboro. Across the street, you will find Mocha Joe’s one of our favorite coffee shops in town. Make sure to try the maple latte while you are there.

Did you grow up looking through The Vermont Country Store catalog? Now’s your chance to see one of their stores in person. Their Rockingham location is just a twenty-five-minute drive from Brattleboro North KOA, just head up I-91 North and take exit 6 follow Rt-103 North for 3 miles and you will find it on your left-hand side. Make sure to take a picture under The Kissing Bridge, an adorable, covered bridge right next to the store. Inside you will be brought back to the best part of the late 1940s with a large candy counter with all the classics. Hungry? You can enjoy Mildred's Market & Dairy Bar to get sandwiches or delicious ice cream.
