This KOA is clean and well cared for. The sites are easy to get in and out of and the park in general is nicely equipped. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The pool and splash pad are really wonderful family activities and they have crafts for kids and other things for the kids to do. The pool closes early, 8 PM due to staffing.

This kampground has gone steadily downhill for the last 20 years. Lawns are dead, trees are dying, facilities reflect significant deferred maintenance, and although they sell full hook up as having cable, the facility has not had cable for 9 months. Only redeeming factors were some of the employees. VERY DISAPPOINTING

Nice park in an excellent location near the Benbow Lodge, with a clear creek running by the campground. Negatives: Incessant, non-stop dog barking at night from what appears to be a long term camper / employee's dog at the north end of the campground. Not worth the stay in this delightful area because the dog's barking kept me awake all night.

Way too many kids (teens) running around on golf carts, going way too fast though the campgrounds with kids riding bikes. Teenagers riding carts on the greens with kids hanging off the back of carts. No supervision on what was going on. You were not ready for the long weekend or the amount of campers. Running out of ice, trash cans over filled and the pool was missing the heating element.

Very fun place to stay! Pool, hot tub, golf! If that’s not enough, check out the Benbow Inn next door. Staff is always friendly and the manager, Chloe, is always accommodating. Sites are spacious and well maintained.

Kids on golf carts and motorcycles flying around with at least 8 kids piled on. Very noisy. Actual golfers were not able to rent carts. Very disappointing usually campground is nice to stay at.

One bathroom stall out of around 6 had toilet paper. Only a few of the stall doors latched, only 2 out of 4 of the sinks turned on. The office did lend us a tire pump, which was very helpful, but they were out of ice for our ice chest. It was memorial weekend and no events or entertainment were offered. The garbage area was full, so we had to take our garbage home with us.

Check in / out easy and efficient. Nice little store and propane on site. Sites are small and cramped. Very little room between sites. Good location and lots of activities for children. But if you want peace & quiet this is not the place.

It was our first time staying at a KOA. We didn’t know what to expect. Customer service was excellent and the amenities were great! However, the set up was very similar to what you’d expect at a trailer park. It was a hectic start to a long Memorial Day weekend so you’d expect the KOA to be impacted. Been going for years. No cable--has been that way for monthsnow apparently, BUT the person who made our reservation SHOULD HAVE TOLD US IN ADVANCE that cable was not available, and told us when we checked in.. Not happy about that!

Good place to stop and stay in the middle of a long drive. We were in the back section where it's quieter. Bathrooms were clean and shower was good. There are a lot more tiny house cabins then we remembered, lots, so a lot of their business seems to be in monthly rentals to locals but it was still quiet.

Staff was friendly. Overall, the campground is nice, but we were very disappointed with our site, especially for the price of $84! We were all the way in the back with no trees around when there were very pretty sites closer to the office. We made our reservations in Jan! The description of the site said we had cable, but it didn’t work. I left a msg using the after hrs phone #; never heard back

Store hours are too short, the pool and hot tub area closes at 6pm which is way too early. Only premium sites have fire pits ���� But on the good side the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable!

We love the place. Very friendly staff. Roomy spots. Very pretty. Only wish the hot tub was available in eve. Maybe stayed open till at least 9. That was disappointing. And heads up.the dryers on high heat for an hour and laundry was still wet. However, neither are a deal breaker for us. We would stay again. And I will recommend the place. Best k.o.a. thanks!

We have been coming to your KOA for 4 years ,a couple times each year. People are awesome. Chloe is the best. My biggest downfall. This is second time it has happened. No ice. I understand off season. But what about the people who need it. Maybe if you are going to keep an empty ice freezer in off season. Put a ice machine. Or just filll the ice freezer with ice.

We arrived and found or site. Twenty minutes after setting up a tour bus full of teenager arrived and start to set up tents behind us and were very loud. We called the on-duty manger and told him that this was unacceptable he told us we were not the first to call, he stated that we could move sites. Also, we had stayed at this site about a week before and was charged a different rate WHY?

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We did indeed have a group of school children come in to camp with us after hours and we apologize that they disturbed you. Our rates fluctuate depending on the dates and availability, and in your case you also received discounts! We will avoid such confusion going forward and hope to see you soon!

The grass was high and needed mowed. We were unable to pick up Satellite TV but the Wi Fi was decent. It had some highway noise, This KOA felt much more rustic and old compared to other KOA Holidays.

In general the campground was nice. About 15 min from a town with grocery and a few restaurants. Benbow Inn is a short walk away and has a nice restaurant. Golf is available. Our only complaint was that the grass was really tall. We had a delux patio site, and the grass was 1-2 ft high in places, which made it buggy and hard to enjoy the outside. Space wasn't large enough for our truck.

Always lovely. The girl at the front desk is an absolute gem. Missed the camp store being stocked, hope that’s back by our next visit in July.

We stayed at the Benbow KOA for spring break 2024. The staff is super helpful and friendly. Check-in was a breeze. Since it was Easter weekend, the campground staff hosted an egg hunt for the kids with an appearance from the Easter Bunny. It was pretty awesome! We stayed in a FHU “comfort” patio site 52, with relatives staying in Tent Site T1, right across the road from our site. The RV site required minimal leveling and all hookups were well maintained. The site included patio furniture and a fire pit. The patio was nice since the grass was muddy from all the winter rain. The showers and bathrooms appeared clean and maintained. The hot tub was open, but it was too early in the season for the pool and splash pad. The laundry room was large and had newer machines. The gift shop had all the essentials for RVers and guests. There is also 2 arcade games, a Star Wars pinball machine and pool table in the lounge area of the front office. They have a small library of books and board games, dice and dominoes to use. The dog park area is on the smaller side, but there are some great pet walk areas around the resort. There is also a small 9 hole golf course next to the KOA. The WiFi was good and able to stream. The cable was not so good due to limited channels and fuzz (could have been my fault). The historic Benbow Inn across the way was a nice surprise with good food options, a full bar and traditional afternoon tea. It's a short walk on a nice path or you can drive there. We were within a few freeway exits of the Avenue of the Giants and a lot of other famous trees and redwood groves in the area. One exit away, in Garberville, there is a supermarket called Ray's Food Place and an awesome Mexican restaurant called El Cora Restaurant. There are fuel options in Garberville as well. I would definitely recommend Benbow KOA to others.

Best KOA cabins we have stayed in. Many models to choose from in the midst of Redwood country. We have stayed there many times, and they are always outstanding. They are very clean and spotless - you can walk around in your socks and they won't get dirty. Spacious and well stocked, towels, dishes, everything. Sheets are crisp. Staff is wonderful and helpful. You can dine at the adjacent historic Benbow Inn. Just wonderful.
