Pool only had 2 tables with umbrellas, a few lounge chairs, table chairs.Had to bring your own chair, staff would leave the pool cleaner in all day, splash pad only on if someone asked for it.4th of July people were on the course for fireworks, staff would not offer refund for not being able to play all 9.Golf course is in terrible condition which is ok, but the fee to play doesn't align with condit

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Unfortunately, many of our umbrellas have been broken due to guests mishandling them and wind knocking them over. The splash park is limited by our local water company, and you did receive a refund despite not reporting your problem to staff until you came late to return our cart. Green fees are $10

Everything was great but they didn’t have cable at our RV site. Very disappointed

The staff was very helpful, friendly and informative. Overall site was comfortable and clean. It’s a great location and we would definitely return.

The only complaint we might make is the laundry area there is no air conditioning in the room also the 2 times my wife done laundry there were 3 dryers with dry bedding left in for at least the 2 hours she spent there

We have been coming to this KOA for years, before it was KOA, and it has gotten worse every time we go. We've given it time to establish and are always disappointed. Spend over $4000 on a family vacation between cabins and RV sites and golf. Dead grass everywhere. Dead plants. Golf course was awful. Pool and splash playground is limited. So disappointed !!! Shame on KOA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The fireworks were spectacular!!! Restrooms/showers very clean as usual . Staff friendly

The prices are extremely high! $110 for a back in! But we were there to be with each other, so memories are pricey and priceless, With no children, the amenities were not used by me.

We had 4 relaxing days at Benbow KOA - it's a beautiful campground & the staff was SUPER friendly & helpful. We used it as a home base to visit Garberville, Ferndale, see the coast, etc. The amenities were great, the pool was gorgeous! We loved golf - & walked to the Historic Benbow Inn for 2 happy hours + 1 meal + had a lovely walk along the river. Looking forward to visiting again soon!!

Overnight, easy and convenient

This campground is clean, has a lot of wonderful amenities, especially for the kids. The pool closes at eight, which it would be nice if it were open a little longer. The staff is extremely accommodating and very friendly.

I have stayed at the Benbow KOA in the past and I was very impressed this visit with the cleanliness and the upkeep efforts that have clearly been taken in recent years. Facilities are in good condition, the camping areas are clean. I visited mid-week and the park was quiet, something that has not been true on previous visits. I would visit this campground again. Full Hook ups.

We stayed 2 nights. It was clean & staff was great

Great stay. Nice golf.
Jun 28, 2025
The staff is fantastic! The campground not so much. The grass is dry. The trees are not trimmed and they let golf carts with kids run all over the place. We wanted to golf there and did but it was the worst golf course I’ve ever been to. The entire course was dry you could barely put your tee in the grounds to tee off and most of the time the tees broke. Drove six hours and sadly disappointed!

The staff and reception were great; however, we were extremely disappointed in the campsite and facility. At Journey level we expected so much more. We had been here several times in years past but we were sad to see dead grass/weeds everywhere. Our site had some green grass I mowed and broken sprinklers leaving portions of our site muddy. We had to pick up dog poop in our site when we arrived and

It has been 25 years since the last time I visited this KOA. I was really excited to revisit some of the memories we made during our past visit. When turned into the entrance, we were met with dead grass everywhere. The golf course was in such bad shape. Our excitement quickly turned to disappointment. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to this park unless we hear changes being made
Jun 26, 2025
nice place but almost all the grass was dead
Jun 26, 2025
Wonderful staff great location and everything was so clean and well maintained
Jun 25, 2025
Over priced. Poorly maintained. Dead grass and stickers everywhere. Loud noise from landscaping and other guests. No hot water in bathrooms. Bathrooms dirty and not maintained. Trailer sites are too tight and not level. Other than that we made do.
Jun 23, 2025
The sites were crowded, quiet hours were non-existent, and the showers/bathrooms did not have hot water. The camp store showers were dirty with used tampons IN them and the shower heads sprayed the ceiling until we fixed it ourselves. Kids drive golf carts around the grounds well into the night. We only recommend this KOA because of its close proximity to redwoods and large laundry facilities.

Very pleased with the staff. We had water leak and had to leave a day early. They processed a credit for the day/night we were not there. Very impressive. Thank you, Jim Johnson
Jun 21, 2025
Very pleasant park and area. I guess they were saving water as the golf course and all of the site grass areas were all dry? We would stay again though.
Jun 21, 2025
The WiFi didn’t work very well. The site was too short for our travel trailer and truck so paying extra for a pull through was a waste of money. The hookups are at the back of the pull through which wasn’t helpful. No hot water in the back bathroom. Dated park needs updated. No tv signal at all.
Jun 21, 2025
Very nice and helpful staff! Seemed that they were a little behind on preparation for the season. Some unfinished construction, and bathrooms need some updating. But, I would go back.
Jun 19, 2025
Quiet place for a couple of days. The Kampground could use some love. Lots of upgrading is needed here. The campsite hookups are very old and should be replaced. All of the amenities need work, pool heater not working, etc. all of the grass is dead. We stayed years ago and it’s disappointing to see the area has not been kept up.

Very pleasant staff as always. Store was very bare and hoping this is temporary. Please replace the couch in the store in front of the TV. Super old and very gross looking. I will not sit in it, that’s how gross it looks. Otherwise had a nice time.

Very Nice

The employees are great. Nice location has lots to offer. My last stay was not good not do to KOA but to another camper who decided that it was ok to berate me because my dog barked for 10-15 minutes. Total jerk who thinks he can get his way through intimidating others. My suggestion is that if you have an issue with another camper that you inform management. It is not anyone's right to confront.

The grounds were very nice and we especially appreciated the lighting along the path back from the Inn. It was disappointing that you didn't have a driving range (and maybe not a putting location) and no golf balls? Hope you get the hot water situation fixed in the far restroom building. I would have liked to have taken a shower. We'll come again, but maybe ask more questions in advance next tim

No washer or dryer’s they were broken. Showers are very old and dirty. No cable spaces are very close together. This could be a very nice place to stay needs work.

Nice park. Aisles are a bit narrow. We had a great site with deck. Very private. Park is outside Grants Pass but conveniently located.

Catherine and Chole are great at the desk. Kinda of surprised at the uptick of beer prices. Wicked aunt Tammys has been like $3.49 for last 2 years. Now $7 a can. We always stop at KOA going to Trinidad. Murphys Grocery store in Trinidad last 2 years $3.50. This trip only $3.99. I understand prices go up. But $7 for a can. Good luck. Hi to the girls. See you next trip......

Liked KOA. Need to get TV fixed
Jun 12, 2025
The staff here are very polite and friendly. The campground is in need of repair though. The space we stayed in (E65) the 30 amp was not working. The circuit breaker was even loose. Luckily I had a "dog bone" to reduce the 50 amp to 30 amp. Someone who is a newbie, or in a rental RV might not have that and could be without 110 volt power. I did see lots of maintenance activity going on.

I’m sure when everything is normal, this place is lovely. However, for our overnight stay, I was very disappointed. I wasn’t able to use the only shower near us because their hot water was broken. No heads up, no discount for unavailable services. With a heads up, we could have used the main building before driving to the back of the campground and setting up. Very disappointing.
Jun 10, 2025
Facility is very dated, very tight fitting spaces, no tv cable as advertised, no green grass, bathrooms had no hot water, the employees travel in loud gas powered golf carts, very young staff that appear inexperienced.
Jun 10, 2025
The campground is very dry and the grass areas are not mowed or kept up. The main bathrooms had no hot water for showers and the staff did not give clear instructions on how to access other showers after 8pm when the office area closed. It’s very run down.

We stayed at the Benbow KOA for spring break 2024. The staff is super helpful and friendly. Check-in was a breeze. Since it was Easter weekend, the campground staff hosted an egg hunt for the kids with an appearance from the Easter Bunny. It was pretty awesome! We stayed in a FHU “comfort” patio site 52, with relatives staying in Tent Site T1, right across the road from our site. The RV site required minimal leveling and all hookups were well maintained. The site included patio furniture and a fire pit. The patio was nice since the grass was muddy from all the winter rain. The showers and bathrooms appeared clean and maintained. The hot tub was open, but it was too early in the season for the pool and splash pad. The laundry room was large and had newer machines. The gift shop had all the essentials for RVers and guests. There is also 2 arcade games, a Star Wars pinball machine and pool table in the lounge area of the front office. They have a small library of books and board games, dice and dominoes to use. The dog park area is on the smaller side, but there are some great pet walk areas around the resort. There is also a small 9 hole golf course next to the KOA. The WiFi was good and able to stream. The cable was not so good due to limited channels and fuzz (could have been my fault). The historic Benbow Inn across the way was a nice surprise with good food options, a full bar and traditional afternoon tea. It's a short walk on a nice path or you can drive there. We were within a few freeway exits of the Avenue of the Giants and a lot of other famous trees and redwood groves in the area. One exit away, in Garberville, there is a supermarket called Ray's Food Place and an awesome Mexican restaurant called El Cora Restaurant. There are fuel options in Garberville as well. I would definitely recommend Benbow KOA to others.

We arrived just before 8:00 p.m. with no reservations and we're greeted by Chloe and Juan who attended to our every need. Thank you for hiring the best. They are definitely an asset to your company. We so enjoyed our time there even though it was real short. Thank you again for your hospitality. You were amazing! Thank you again for such a wonderful experience. We would highly recommend your campground to anyone traveling

Best KOA cabins we have stayed in. Many models to choose from in the midst of Redwood country. We have stayed there many times, and they are always outstanding. They are very clean and spotless - you can walk around in your socks and they won't get dirty. Spacious and well stocked, towels, dishes, everything. Sheets are crisp. Staff is wonderful and helpful. You can dine at the adjacent historic Benbow Inn. Just wonderful.
