A lot of differed maintenance. Roads are in terrible shape, unsafe to drive or walk on, pot holes, cracks, etc. cabins need painting on the outside.

Nice KOA on the Eel River. Does not have all of the bells and whistles that many koa's have but it was clean, quiet, nicely spaced sites.

Short but great. Hot tub awesome after a ride down the coast to the redwoods. Close to nice grocery store in Garberville to restock. Will be back. Chard and Cab Wines from Benbow Inn sold at store. We recommend them.

Nice facility, friendly staff. The golf course, while not fancy, it is really fun to play, we have done it several times. We will go again for sure.

Jen, Joyveda, and Sylus were very friendly. Jen helped us look up bike trails on the computer. Store was very well stocked with groceries, RV, necessities, and gifts. The campground, store, and bathrooms were all very clean. Our campsite was nice and quiet. We checked in after hours and were fortunate enough to get a spot without having a reservation. We would definitely come back here again.

Only issue we had is we paid extra for deluxe patio site and the one we were given was on main road directly across from garbage dumpster. So when you sit in the patio area we got to watch everyone throw away their trash. That site should not be listed as deluxe patio site

Great location for our coastal journey. We appreciate having pull-through site close to the front. The staff was very friendly and efficient, the store/pool/laundry/showers very tidy. The park is pretty tired looking, though. My bus driver commented on the pot holes in the which make the rig rock. Some serious updating is needed on the grounds, power washing the front entrance, cabins look sad.

When I arrived I was asked if I needed to access laundry and showers I said no, not knowing that I would need access card for the toilet. There was no fire ring at my site, which WAS going to be our main cooking heat source. We were not expecting guests at all, and the front desk gave someone our site number, who then showed up unexpectedly. We were so miserable that we left early.

The host was good ,the reservation worked great. The site was a little rough and cable hook up was very poor. Area location was good. Showers were clean and maintained.

Very pleasant stay, only wish we had mire time to stay longer. Facilities were clean and convenient. Very nice staff and welcoming.

very friendly and helpful staff, but the campground is in need of an update. cabins are in need of paint jobs, some maintenance needed (burnt out bulb in laundromat making it rather dark at night, some trash around the dumpsters. The location is nice, but most of campground needs a face lift.

The Campground was great. Until the family with 4 wheelers showed up. Apparently you can ride 4 wheelers around the camp and annoy the other campers it's no big deal there. I could understand if there was a atv park but there isn't. Needless to say no one was happy in the back side of the Campground. We even heard people leaving early due to lack of courtesy by these campers and koa staff.

The camp ground was fine but Saturday the 16th there was a group of kids using the loop we were in for a race track for there ATVs this started before lunch and went on untill 9.00 pm until one of the campers went and confronted the mother who was sitting in the cabin watching tv. I know of at least 5camp sites that complained to the office there response was we made them put helmets we allow this

Staff friendly, Scenery beautiful. Bath/shower ok. Pool closed 1st day; temp over 90-disappointing. Laundry closed too. Still paid full rate. Dog walk area full of feces. Guests don’t do their part, but staff needs to address-park wasn’t at 20% capacity. Dog enclosure too small and poorly maintained. Lovely dinner at Inn but they ran out of my wife’s 1st choice for entree and dessert

It's dirty, rundown, poor customer service. Wild cats all over. Tables with rat poop all over them. Weeds knee high and overgrown dead landscaping. Looks like there has not been any funds reinvested in this place for years. Old smelly garbage bins & dog waste cans full to the top. Employees zip around on gas powered golf carts without noticing the decay and stench. Better camping up the road...

Old old facility, some site power hook-ups were badly damaged and not repaired.(Bent-have picture) Cat poop all over our site and staff had to clean. Pool+spa not avail due to damaged water pipe. Sites not wide enough for newest type slides. 20amp not avail at our site due to very low voltage (86Volts) had to run extension cord to the next site (unoccupied) very poorly maintained. Dirty (money?)

Very friendly welcome, staff is keen d and helpfully. My husband particularly enjoyed the water pressure in the showers.

Staff was pleasant and helpful. Grounds were in need of attention. Trees needed trimming, caused scratches to RV. Water leaks at faucets. Not as good as most KOA's.

We just stayed one night as a stopover on our way home, and glad it was only one night. We got set up and noticed there were a lot of flies around our campsite and at times noticed a terrible dead fish like smell. It turns out it was not the dumpster, there was a device to attract flies attached to the tree in our site, THAT was the awful smell!! NOT a good experience at this KOA.

We had a very nice time. My family had two sites next to each other ( very important). Husband's golfers, the girls used the jacuzzi. The pool was very cloudy,, but we heard you had a big weekend. The power went out in the middle of the night, but came back on within 15 minutes. We were very happy with our stay. Staff was very friendly. Next time, I'll request a fire ring site.

My first visit! Very friendly staff at check-in and the few purchases I made at the store. The restrooms were clean. Loved the pool towels. A nice “resort” touch!

Don't really care to pay for a premium price to listen to i guest play their boom box so loud I could hear it at the other end of the park. I asked staff twice to do something about it to my knowledge no one did anything I finely had to say something to them that's NOT what I came there for I'm local and try to support this business, but unless this sort of thing st will be the last time.

Camped on west side, towards the Hwy. tremendous fly population, flys all over, many got inside our rig. Spent so much time trying to kill flys. The grass strip on that side of park was popular for dog pooping & not picking up feces ='s fly infestation. Other than that, wonderful facility!

Nice pool and hot tub Spacious sites with some shade Friendly staff, good laundry facilities at $2 each, nice store. One staff said they were ‘moving trash from campground dumpster’ to another business until it got dumped by garbage company. I don’t believe the abundance of flies would be so bad if they’d have garbage dumped as needed. Some staff seem to be living in cabins.

Friendly & helpful staff. Unfortunately after labor day weekend the dumpsters were overflowing and as a result, at times the wind would carry a pungent odor through camp. In addition to the smell there was an over-abundance of flies (clearly a by product of the filled dumpsters ). Sadly, the trash never got picked up during our stay so I cannot say if the “fly issue” would have resolved.

Sites too small for big rigs (40 ft towing jeep). Trash containers overflowing onto ground. Employees driving around in golf carts all day doing no apparent work including making space for trash and helping guide campers to their sites.

The front desk ladies were wonderful!!! So helpful and kind. We were stuck at the last campground so we were one night late for Benbow and they credited us.

We stayed at the Benbow KOA for spring break 2024. The staff is super helpful and friendly. Check-in was a breeze. Since it was Easter weekend, the campground staff hosted an egg hunt for the kids with an appearance from the Easter Bunny. It was pretty awesome! We stayed in a FHU “comfort” patio site 52, with relatives staying in Tent Site T1, right across the road from our site. The RV site required minimal leveling and all hookups were well maintained. The site included patio furniture and a fire pit. The patio was nice since the grass was muddy from all the winter rain. The showers and bathrooms appeared clean and maintained. The hot tub was open, but it was too early in the season for the pool and splash pad. The laundry room was large and had newer machines. The gift shop had all the essentials for RVers and guests. There is also 2 arcade games, a Star Wars pinball machine and pool table in the lounge area of the front office. They have a small library of books and board games, dice and dominoes to use. The dog park area is on the smaller side, but there are some great pet walk areas around the resort. There is also a small 9 hole golf course next to the KOA. The WiFi was good and able to stream. The cable was not so good due to limited channels and fuzz (could have been my fault). The historic Benbow Inn across the way was a nice surprise with good food options, a full bar and traditional afternoon tea. It's a short walk on a nice path or you can drive there. We were within a few freeway exits of the Avenue of the Giants and a lot of other famous trees and redwood groves in the area. One exit away, in Garberville, there is a supermarket called Ray's Food Place and an awesome Mexican restaurant called El Cora Restaurant. There are fuel options in Garberville as well. I would definitely recommend Benbow KOA to others.

We arrived just before 8:00 p.m. with no reservations and we're greeted by Chloe and Juan who attended to our every need. Thank you for hiring the best. They are definitely an asset to your company. We so enjoyed our time there even though it was real short. Thank you again for your hospitality. You were amazing! Thank you again for such a wonderful experience. We would highly recommend your campground to anyone traveling
