Just a quick over night while on way home. Staff were very friendly. Plenty of things to do. Spaces a little close together. Had a power fluctuation which caused my power watch to trip. Look like nice new cabins. Didn't get a chance to look at them. Roadway needs some upkeep. Overall, good place to stay. Very family friendly. Nice to have the Benbow Inn adjacent. Very accommodating.

Camped with another couple, Hunter was awesome and very helpful. The pool was immaculate as well as the Jacuzzi. The people we camped with reserved three cabins for next month they liked it so so much had a great time we will be back with our grandkids.

I loved everything except the one shower �� with the push button valve. It was really annoying to have to keep pushing it while trying to shower. Other than that, perfect�.

Staff are great. Check in easy. Reason for a 3 rating sites are too close. Our neighbors were up around their camp fire until 1 am. Talking and laughing. Too bad we were so close not use to late night parties. We come here frequently as stop over on our way to and from Oregon. The park is a nice just crowded.

We’ve stayed here a few times and I have to say things are going down hill . The pool was not heated and they weren’t taking reservations for the golf carts. The people who went early in the morning took carts and kept them all day in their campsites. We asked if they would make a waiting list and the response was “ too much trouble”. We did have a lovely time up at the inn one afternoon!

To much crap laying around! Not tidy at all! And when I say crap I mean from several projects, it clean as far as trash goes but they need to be tidy on the projects. The store does not have adequate supply’s. Broke down car as you enter the property, who knows how long that’s been there! Come on KOA clean it up! The Benbow is iconic don’t bring it down…

The campground was clean, facilities also. Our site picnic table showed a lot of wear & tear, rotting wood. The grounds (grassy areas, including the golf course) were very dry. I feel each site should have the option of a fire ring & not just the “premium sites” only. Sites are very close together with little privacy (shrubbery).

We clearly arrived in their off season. The store was empty, and the pool & spa had no water in them. The "grass" at the sites was a mix of dirt and weeds and our site was facing a site with a pile of rocks and bobcat tractor. Many of the cabins had full time residents and that was a bit off-putting. The office staff were very friendly, but this place was not up to KOA standards.

First off Chole is the best at the desk, she should be the Manager. She has a clue whats going on. take a look at that store its an absolute joke someone that has a clue should be running it. How embarrassing. New owners...wow. No pool in May in WOW! If this is how it is being run you should never Charge full price. Ownership is in big question. we have been coming here for years,

Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. However, the park was not what I’d expect from a KOA. Cracked concrete throughout with grass growing between cracks. Several washers and dryers were out of commission. One bathhouse didn’t have hot water.

We had a great RV site in the back of the campground. My only complaint is with the dog owners who feel it is ok to not have dogs on leashes. While out with our 2 small dogs, who were always on leashes, they were attacked by a much larger dog. While neither was hurt, I think it is important that KOA enforce the leash policy. Many, many dogs running around off leash.

For the first time in years the place was very well kept up. It was very relaxing and clean. It has not been that way for years. Very much appreciated the up grade.

The receptionist was outstanding. Personable, looked you in the eye when talking, completed full sentences when speaking. She was kind and also dressed nicely for her job. When we asked to park in a spot next to our site, she accommodated us with no hesitation. She was a great example of anyone working with the public.

We stayed at Benbow in mid April 2026. Would not recommend this KOA as it is really run down and in need of a refresh. RV sites are not being maintained. They also had no hot water for showers. The golf course is just fields mowed down and the greens are just shorter grass, but it is appropriately priced at $10 and would be a fun place to play with non golfers. The staff was very friendly though.

I was very upset about the park conditions. When we arrived at the park it was almost empty. And it seemed that some of the spaces had the grass mowed, BUT all of the sites that had RV's arriving were not mowed and the grass was 6" to 8" tall. Not one of the mowed sites had a RV come into those sites. Also broken branches, roads with loose gravel and potholes. NOT KOA STANDARDS!!!!!

The park is nice but need a lot of yard work some sites were mowed but most had not been in a while. The dog park was a mess the grass was very long looked like it had not been mowed in weeks most of the grass was a foot plus in length which my 14lb dog was not happy about.

The employee on staff that most pleasant and helpful to get us checked. The work crew were doing a lot of dirt work and could have kept the dirt and mud off of the roads in the park. The park was very nice otherwise and we enjoyed our stay. The park internet was not in service from about 4:00 on Saturday and until we left on Sunday. We liked the park and would come back!

The location is the best part of this stay. Close to The Avenue of the Giants. I realize that it's off season but the hours of the office was 1pm to 4pm. One of the bathrooms didn't have hot water. Travelers coming after the office closed, without reservations, didn't have any direction for available sites, rates to pay, or written directions to these. We would probably stay here again.

Off season was quiet. The river and campground are beautiful. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Our campsite was comfy and clean.

We stayed at the Benbow KOA for spring break 2024. The staff is super helpful and friendly. Check-in was a breeze. Since it was Easter weekend, the campground staff hosted an egg hunt for the kids with an appearance from the Easter Bunny. It was pretty awesome! We stayed in a FHU “comfort” patio site 52, with relatives staying in Tent Site T1, right across the road from our site. The RV site required minimal leveling and all hookups were well maintained. The site included patio furniture and a fire pit. The patio was nice since the grass was muddy from all the winter rain. The showers and bathrooms appeared clean and maintained. The hot tub was open, but it was too early in the season for the pool and splash pad. The laundry room was large and had newer machines. The gift shop had all the essentials for RVers and guests. There is also 2 arcade games, a Star Wars pinball machine and pool table in the lounge area of the front office. They have a small library of books and board games, dice and dominoes to use. The dog park area is on the smaller side, but there are some great pet walk areas around the resort. There is also a small 9 hole golf course next to the KOA. The WiFi was good and able to stream. The cable was not so good due to limited channels and fuzz (could have been my fault). The historic Benbow Inn across the way was a nice surprise with good food options, a full bar and traditional afternoon tea. It's a short walk on a nice path or you can drive there. We were within a few freeway exits of the Avenue of the Giants and a lot of other famous trees and redwood groves in the area. One exit away, in Garberville, there is a supermarket called Ray's Food Place and an awesome Mexican restaurant called El Cora Restaurant. There are fuel options in Garberville as well. I would definitely recommend Benbow KOA to others.

We arrived just before 8:00 p.m. with no reservations and we're greeted by Chloe and Juan who attended to our every need. Thank you for hiring the best. They are definitely an asset to your company. We so enjoyed our time there even though it was real short. Thank you again for your hospitality. You were amazing! Thank you again for such a wonderful experience. We would highly recommend your campground to anyone traveling

Best KOA cabins we have stayed in. Many models to choose from in the midst of Redwood country. We have stayed there many times, and they are always outstanding. They are very clean and spotless - you can walk around in your socks and they won't get dirty. Spacious and well stocked, towels, dishes, everything. Sheets are crisp. Staff is wonderful and helpful. You can dine at the adjacent historic Benbow Inn. Just wonderful.
