We have 2 young kids and the splash pad was only available on weekends which I didn’t know before we booked. So between the cow train and splash pad unavailable it felt like a let down. Also our room had the tv ripped out of the wall and not replaced, one fork for the whole room, bed was very firm and uncomfortable. Pros the location, the pool looked nice, the playground was cute.

Not well maintained, our tent site were poorly maintained. We had to make a lot of adjustments to our tent placement to find a decent spot. Tent site had dog feces, dental floss all over. The bathroom is always stinky even after cleaning, mats in showers have mold. Ppl driving golf kart too fast. Whole site is too dense, neighbors too close, feels like a refugee camp rather relaxing place.

The Benbow KOA is a very clean campground. My family had a great time enjoying the pool and the river. The fireworks on the 4th of July were the best that I have seen in a long time. I love that it's not crowded. I would recommend this campground to all who are wanting to take a vacation.

We had a great time 4th of July swimming in the pool and watching the fireworks. Slime making was pretty awesome too.

We loved it! Only thing we would change, is: pool and hot tub and office need to be open until 10. After a lovely day at the river, then dinner with friends at a different campground, we wanted to enjoy those facilities. We were really disappointed to see how early it closed. Also, the hours weren’t posted anywhere, brochures or outside.

I have used a KOA cabin as my lodging when visiting family in Benbow for approximately 10 years. Upon arrival approximately 1 hour before the "official" check in time, I was refused early check-in. After returning to check-in, I discovered that TV service had been removed without prior disclosure. Very disappointing stay. Most likely will never go back & will not recommend to anyone!

There are no tv’s anymore, the back sliding door doesn’t lock, there’s just a stick that allows the door to slide enough to be lifted off the track. There were hairs in the bed, the counters and fridge were dirty and no toilet paper in the bathroom. We’ve stayed here many times before and it was good, this was a let down for sure. The new manager Ruben was polite and receptive to the issue

The Benbow KOA is in a magnificent location and the staff is friendly and very attentive. The golf course and pool were excellent amenities for a KOA campground. The campgrounds themselves can us some maintenance and upkeep and the deluxe cabin was a little run down. My family and I stayed in cabin at the Waldport KOA the night before and the cabin was impeccable, the Benbow cabin was not.

The area is beautiful and full of birds and trees. Our young daughter had a great time. However, the constant traffic of speeding golf carts made it not very relaxing. The cabin was well-appointed and clean. But there were ants in the sink. The toilet was sluggish and bubbled when the tub was drained. And the swimming pool was a huge disappointment, as it was not heated.

The dog poop area is right at the tent sight area not fun. The cabin had lots of spiders. The shower in the cabin had very brown water had to use the community shower. Hours for hot tub were only for day time use.

We enjoyed our time at the Benbow KOA! Our cabin was clean, and nicely sized for 2 people and one dog. There was a short footpath down to the Eel River, which was just outside our cabin. Staff members were warm and friendly, and the park had an overall good vibe. We walked over to the Benbow Inn and had a great dinner from their bar menu, on the front patio. The food was fresh and delicious!

How does KOA manage to hire such consistently friendly people? I'm definitely coming back, either to the campground or the lodge, and I'm looking forward to actually playing your nine hole course some day.

We had a family Christmas and your personal went out of their way to insure we were happy. The minor issues that come up with over 35 guests were taken care of right away.

Our second time staying at the Benbow KOA. What a wonderful place with great staff. Quiet, relaxing, non rushed 9 hole golf course. The little store had everything we wanted (paper plates, souvenirs, local beer and wine, hygiene items, food.) There was also DVDs by honor system. My kids and I brought our bikes. Nice little playground. Will definitely will be back next year.

I loved my stay at this location! I ended up in a riverside cabin and it was gorgeous day and night. I would love to see it again when the river has more water, it probably would look even better. Great KOA location to stay at and explore Avenue of the Giants and parts of the Lost Coast. If I had more time to hang around the KOA, there seems to be a ton of great stuff in and nearby to check out.

Rooms small,for 100$. shower was dirty and floor was not moped made my white socks black. No I don't wear shoes inside.. staff was very friendly I would stay again but in my rv next time..

We planned this 3-day stay as a base for visiting the redwoods. My husband who is now disabled had never seen the California Redwoods. We love the outdoors and chose to stay in a cabin. The staff went above and beyond to make sure the cabin we stayed in was to his liking. We appreciate their efforts because it really made our stay a memorable one. I highly recommend this KOA!

One of the two rooms we reserved was not clean when we checked in. Found dirty dishes in the sink and dirty towels on the floor in the bathroom. Went back to the office and (fortunately) they had another unit for us to check into as housekeeping had left for the day. Staff was friendly and very accommodating, so that was nice and made up for the initial check-in debacle.

It was a cute KOA. I have stayed in MANY Koa across the country. The deluxe cabin was by far the dirtiest I’ve ever seen. Soo gross. Brown stuff dripping down the fridge. overall filthy. Just plain gross

We stayed at the Benbow KOA for spring break 2024. The staff is super helpful and friendly. Check-in was a breeze. Since it was Easter weekend, the campground staff hosted an egg hunt for the kids with an appearance from the Easter Bunny. It was pretty awesome! We stayed in a FHU “comfort” patio site 52, with relatives staying in Tent Site T1, right across the road from our site. The RV site required minimal leveling and all hookups were well maintained. The site included patio furniture and a fire pit. The patio was nice since the grass was muddy from all the winter rain. The showers and bathrooms appeared clean and maintained. The hot tub was open, but it was too early in the season for the pool and splash pad. The laundry room was large and had newer machines. The gift shop had all the essentials for RVers and guests. There is also 2 arcade games, a Star Wars pinball machine and pool table in the lounge area of the front office. They have a small library of books and board games, dice and dominoes to use. The dog park area is on the smaller side, but there are some great pet walk areas around the resort. There is also a small 9 hole golf course next to the KOA. The WiFi was good and able to stream. The cable was not so good due to limited channels and fuzz (could have been my fault). The historic Benbow Inn across the way was a nice surprise with good food options, a full bar and traditional afternoon tea. It's a short walk on a nice path or you can drive there. We were within a few freeway exits of the Avenue of the Giants and a lot of other famous trees and redwood groves in the area. One exit away, in Garberville, there is a supermarket called Ray's Food Place and an awesome Mexican restaurant called El Cora Restaurant. There are fuel options in Garberville as well. I would definitely recommend Benbow KOA to others.

We arrived just before 8:00 p.m. with no reservations and we're greeted by Chloe and Juan who attended to our every need. Thank you for hiring the best. They are definitely an asset to your company. We so enjoyed our time there even though it was real short. Thank you again for your hospitality. You were amazing! Thank you again for such a wonderful experience. We would highly recommend your campground to anyone traveling

Best KOA cabins we have stayed in. Many models to choose from in the midst of Redwood country. We have stayed there many times, and they are always outstanding. They are very clean and spotless - you can walk around in your socks and they won't get dirty. Spacious and well stocked, towels, dishes, everything. Sheets are crisp. Staff is wonderful and helpful. You can dine at the adjacent historic Benbow Inn. Just wonderful.
