We enjoyed our stay in a cabin at the Benbow KOA. Our grandchildren loved swimming in the pool, playing in the water park, riding their bikes around the campground roads, and playing at the playground. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Lovely grounds and a sweet cabin, but it was not fully stocked as advertised. For a cabin that sleeps 4, there should be dishes and utensils for 4. We didn't have a spatula, a large bowl for mixing batter or serving. Only 2 mismatched spoons and 3 butter knives, and 3 coffee mugs! Also, the floor felt swept but definitely not mopped. A little bit deeper cleaning would be appreciated for the price.

Overall it was good, but the description was not accurate as the pull out couch was very small and couldn not accommodate 2 and saying it slept 6 was not accurate. There was only decaf coffee. I think that they should describe what you should bring as the kitchen had very little forks and cups or glasses.

We stayed two nights. It is the off season so the office was only open from one to four each day. Had to ask for wash cloths. We stayed in a cabin.

Our Glamping cabin was small, but it would have met our needs, except for the bed. It was the most uncomfortable bed I've have sleep on. We asked if we could change cabins, but were told nothing was available,, although a lot of the cabins were unoccupied during our two day stay.The campground didn't look very well maintained.

I appreciate that the campground was quiet however would be nice to have more lighting on property especially near parking lot. Cabin (40A) was clean but the mattress could use replacing. Also the heater/ac unit is really loud and would wake us up at night. It would be nice to have some sort of table or shelving unit to put out stuff on. But overall we had a good stay.

Friendly staff, clean cabin fully equipped, beautiful location and fall sunny weather. wish the rates were a tad more reasonable since it was late October and park was pretty empty. Hot tub was not warm.

Loved it! Cozy cabin, peaceful grounds. Hot tub was a huge plus, but needed a little cleaning. Will be back!

The cabin was nice but the amenities were NOT. Especially the bath soap provided. I have never seen such a small bar of soap... you could hardly hold it. Come on guys... for $230/night.. I think you can provide a decent bar of soap. I'm sure soap doesn't cost that much. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Would also be nice to have a box of Kleenex.

Staff at front desk very helpful and friendly. The Cabin was worn out and falling apart in dire need of replacement! Water leaks, flooring appliance issues and sewer odors! Nasty!

Stayed in a cabin. Only 2 dining room chairs for 4 people. Leaking refrigerator. Circuit breaker kept kicking off. Filthy floors. All grass was dead even on golf course. Tv was advertised to be in cabin. Both tvs were gone. Splash pad only for weekends!! No pool towels. We had stayed here the 3 previous years but won’t be returning. Staff was great!

This KOA feels alittle lonely. Not very family oriented. The cabins are great inside but if they would paint them a pretty color outside, it will make the place feel welcoming. Also grow grass. This place would be great due to location near redwoods. Just needs to feel more welcoming and family oriented.

Stayed three nights in a cabin (18B). I originally reserved a motel style room but when I arrived I was told I had been upgraded because of holes in the flooring. It would be nice to know in advance, I could have brought more "cabin" appropriate things . Not the best. There were cats crying all night and the shower could use a good cleaning or replacement. The staff were the best. I'd stay again

My only complaint is regarding the bed in our cabin. It was extremely uncomfortable and while we feel the cost we paid was reasonable the bed could have been a lot nicer. It felt like a bunch of springs and was thin enough that we both touched the base platform holding the mattress. I would roll over and my shoulder would hit the hard base. Woke up with achy backs. Firmer mattress would be better

Always welcomed and always accommodating! Chloe and the team are always willing to do what they can to make our stay special and memorable. The cabin is always cleaned and comfortable. The surrounding camp sites are always well maintained when not occupied and the scenery is serene and beautiful. Our favorite KOA. Bathrooms weren't cleaned regularly. The yellow jackets weren't being addressed. The cabin our kids were in did not have all the amenities promised, and neither of the AC units worked. The pool was dirty. The splashpad is only running on the weekends (during the summer!) due to "water district restrictions." Even the park workers didn't observe the speed limit. I could go on but am out of room!

The cabin is in desperate need of a significant update. The front stairs and railing felt very unsafe like they were on the verge of collapsing. Inside, the entire cabin felt incredibly outdated; it could definitely benefit from a TV. However, the biggest issue was the sleeping arrangement: the sofa bed was equipped with a mattress so thin and flimsy it offered no support, causing backache.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom cabin . Place was clean but outdated cabin . Beds were uncomfortable and no ac for the whole house just only the living room area . The master bedroom mattress was uncomfortable and bedroom sliding door screen was ripped so we couldn’t leave door open without mosquito flying in .for the money I wish it was updated and more comfortable .

Second time I've stayed with you. Only disappointment was train not running and no kids activities. My first stay was with my grandkids - this stay was with my great grandkids and wished the kids activities would have happened.

We just used the koa as a 2 night layover to attend a family event not at the campground. We stayed in one of the cabins. Only complaint I had was the bed. Felt like you were sleeping on a cheep box spring.

We have 2 young kids and the splash pad was only available on weekends which I didn’t know before we booked. So between the cow train and splash pad unavailable it felt like a let down. Also our room had the tv ripped out of the wall and not replaced, one fork for the whole room, bed was very firm and uncomfortable. Pros the location, the pool looked nice, the playground was cute.

Not well maintained, our tent site were poorly maintained. We had to make a lot of adjustments to our tent placement to find a decent spot. Tent site had dog feces, dental floss all over. The bathroom is always stinky even after cleaning, mats in showers have mold. Ppl driving golf kart too fast. Whole site is too dense, neighbors too close, feels like a refugee camp rather relaxing place.

The Benbow KOA is a very clean campground. My family had a great time enjoying the pool and the river. The fireworks on the 4th of July were the best that I have seen in a long time. I love that it's not crowded. I would recommend this campground to all who are wanting to take a vacation.

We loved it! Only thing we would change, is: pool and hot tub and office need to be open until 10. After a lovely day at the river, then dinner with friends at a different campground, we wanted to enjoy those facilities. We were really disappointed to see how early it closed. Also, the hours weren’t posted anywhere, brochures or outside.

I have used a KOA cabin as my lodging when visiting family in Benbow for approximately 10 years. Upon arrival approximately 1 hour before the "official" check in time, I was refused early check-in. After returning to check-in, I discovered that TV service had been removed without prior disclosure. Very disappointing stay. Most likely will never go back & will not recommend to anyone!

There are no tv’s anymore, the back sliding door doesn’t lock, there’s just a stick that allows the door to slide enough to be lifted off the track. There were hairs in the bed, the counters and fridge were dirty and no toilet paper in the bathroom. We’ve stayed here many times before and it was good, this was a let down for sure. The new manager Ruben was polite and receptive to the issue

The Benbow KOA is in a magnificent location and the staff is friendly and very attentive. The golf course and pool were excellent amenities for a KOA campground. The campgrounds themselves can us some maintenance and upkeep and the deluxe cabin was a little run down. My family and I stayed in cabin at the Waldport KOA the night before and the cabin was impeccable, the Benbow cabin was not.

We were lucky we were there in the November / December season so lots of room for us. We loved the spacious grounds, close proximity to Redwoods and the cute town of Garberville. We ate at the Historic Inn and loved the Christmas decor and beauty of the hotel.

Beautiful campground! Stayed 3 nights in RV spot. Avenue of the Giants road is just 20 or so miles north, so spent a day doing that. Played 9 holes of golf here one day and that was fun! Lovely and friendly staff!
