Campground Reviews

Stay was great. We gofed, but tge course was not good. Need to improve tge golf course like 9t used to be. Also the camp site grounds the grass was all dead. Overall the campground needs maintenance on the landscaping it would also be good to not put couple campers or seniors who want quiet mixed in with families if possible.

Was placed close to a large group of rowdy, noisy drunks playing loud music and twerking to the tunes. There had to be at least 10 ppl in the one RV. Things quieted down in the evening, but only because the group left to an event. At 3 AM, they are back at it. Upon checkout, I asked if they had security and got some vague answer. At $106 per nite - no way! Neighbors also complained.

The at the front desk are very nice and helpful - its just sad that we are going thru a climate change, since the hot weather is hard to keep things green

Campground was nice and big right near the Eel river. Staff was nice and friendly. Close to the freeway with some noise. But convenient to get to. If your expecting a camp fire, bring your own pit or reserve their premier site with a burn pit. Pool and hot tube were clean and refreshing. Store was stocked with basic necessities and a little more.

The receptionist went above and beyond to answer our questions, even looking up wild fire locations for us. We enjoyed the amenities, too.

Great stay with great amenities! Thanks for having us!

We felt very well taken care of and the staff was amazing! Very clean but the flies were awful. Maybe the end of July is not a good time to visit Bendbow.

Very nicely kept campground. Clean restrooms and showers. Somewhat noisy at times with children screaming. Benbow restaurant has delicious food , My favorite was the ribeye steak special one of the best I have ever eaten .

Had a great time swimming, playing shuffleboard, basketball and gin rummy. Lots of things to do and see not far away - Redwoods, Legend of Bigfoot (they also sell the cheapest and best firewood).

It Was clean very nice. Bed was so uncomfortable. The cabin was small as we were told. This was tiny. I would recommend that people REALLY check it out when you are told it is small.

Felt very welcomed on arrival. Site was perfect. Campground was clean. Short walk to the Benbow Inn, which was quite lovely and recommended by the gal at the registration desk.

I talked to Jennifer from Oceanside who was very helpful in getting us a tent site on short notice. She returned my phone call on my cell phone on the day we needed a place to camp and hooked us up. She is awesome!! Ron and Eric

We had a great time swimming, playing at the park and having our own campfire. We were just one night in a 4 person cabin. Only criticism is that there were not plates and silverware for 4 people- otherwise great!

Very nice, clean and safe. I would have a few more dog poo bags stations around because everyone brings their pups with them. Also fix your irrigation system around the buildings you have it watering in the hot part of the day and you have a lot of water running into the storm drains. But overall nice place and nice employees.

Friendly staff (even reminded me that I had many points I could use towards our stay.) Nice amenities including hot tub. Good internet. Lots of shade trees. Disappointed that we were so far from clubhouse as I had made reservations quite a while ago. I should have requested to be closer to clubhouse. Far walk and not many parking spaces around clubhouse.

Your facility was great, EXCEPT the flies. There were thousands of flies in our sight. It was disgusting. You could not even sit in your chair. Absolutely awful. I live with horses and the flies were WORSE than in my horse stall. Please do something serious about the fly problem you have. It’s a shame because it’s a nice place except the flies

We stayed at the Benbow KOA for spring break 2024. The staff is super helpful and friendly. Check-in was a breeze. Since it was Easter weekend, the campground staff hosted an egg hunt for the kids with an appearance from the Easter Bunny. It was pretty awesome! We stayed in a FHU “comfort” patio site 52, with relatives staying in Tent Site T1, right across the road from our site. The RV site required minimal leveling and all hookups were well maintained. The site included patio furniture and a fire pit. The patio was nice since the grass was muddy from all the winter rain. The showers and bathrooms appeared clean and maintained. The hot tub was open, but it was too early in the season for the pool and splash pad. The laundry room was large and had newer machines. The gift shop had all the essentials for RVers and guests. There is also 2 arcade games, a Star Wars pinball machine and pool table in the lounge area of the front office. They have a small library of books and board games, dice and dominoes to use. The dog park area is on the smaller side, but there are some great pet walk areas around the resort. There is also a small 9 hole golf course next to the KOA. The WiFi was good and able to stream. The cable was not so good due to limited channels and fuzz (could have been my fault). The historic Benbow Inn across the way was a nice surprise with good food options, a full bar and traditional afternoon tea. It's a short walk on a nice path or you can drive there. We were within a few freeway exits of the Avenue of the Giants and a lot of other famous trees and redwood groves in the area. One exit away, in Garberville, there is a supermarket called Ray's Food Place and an awesome Mexican restaurant called El Cora Restaurant. There are fuel options in Garberville as well. I would definitely recommend Benbow KOA to others.

We arrived just before 8:00 p.m. with no reservations and we're greeted by Chloe and Juan who attended to our every need. Thank you for hiring the best. They are definitely an asset to your company. We so enjoyed our time there even though it was real short. Thank you again for your hospitality. You were amazing! Thank you again for such a wonderful experience. We would highly recommend your campground to anyone traveling

Best KOA cabins we have stayed in. Many models to choose from in the midst of Redwood country. We have stayed there many times, and they are always outstanding. They are very clean and spotless - you can walk around in your socks and they won't get dirty. Spacious and well stocked, towels, dishes, everything. Sheets are crisp. Staff is wonderful and helpful. You can dine at the adjacent historic Benbow Inn. Just wonderful.
