Personnel were very helpful and polite. Pull through upgrade was offered as the camp wasn't too busy. Bathroom and shower was clean.

Clean, level spaces. Welcoming office staff. Easy freeway access. Water is heavily chlorinated and smells like a bleach bottle. Air outside smells like propane and rotting vegetation. Close to truckstop so can hear/feel ongoing truck rumbling. Wifi would not connect. Served the purpose as place to sleep before continuing travels.

We had a wonderful 3 night stay to celebrate my husband’s birthday!! Everyone was so nice and we were able to play 8 holes of golf before the rain came. Great dinner at Benbow Inn. Will be back soon!! Our trailer space was very large and clean. We had a problem with our trailer and were helped by wonderful worker to repair it and make our stay wonderful!

Our second time staying at the Benbow KOA. What a wonderful place with great staff. Quiet, relaxing, non rushed 9 hole golf course. The little store had everything we wanted (paper plates, souvenirs, local beer and wine, hygiene items, food.) There was also DVDs by honor system. My kids and I brought our bikes. Nice little playground. Will definitely will be back next year.

We love this KOA. Very friendly, great communication, clean bathrooms and showers. Always fun to walk over to the inn to have a drink and something to eat. We will be back!

Booked a one night stay with a late check in. Arrived at 1am found our welcome packet pinned on the office info board. A map with directions to our site and key card for utilities attached. Made checking in after a big drive super easy. Friendly staff and good free WiFi for the Techies. Easy to navigate with a 40 foot rig. Thanks

We love the location of the Benbow KOA. The staff is always personable, efficient, and helpful. The grounds are well kept and especially beautiful in the fall. For the first time we stayed near the office in the first row-- an easy pull through site. We are a small fiberglass trailer rig without a shower. The bathroom there was less than pristine and the showers were actually dirty. Alas.

Nice, comfortable. Cabin was not furnished with kitchen utensils for two people. It was a cabin for six. Brought our own. Otherwise, we will be back.

Excellent stay for our Redwood Roamers group. Everyone had a good time - despite the power outage on Friday.

Expensive, neighbors back up alarm went off at 6 AM, cable did not work whole point of staying there was to watch the World Series.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We're sorry your stay wasn't as pleasant as it should have been. Our cable provider had a couple of outages, and we were offering any guests who let us know of their inconvenience a discount. Please feel free to reach out if you didn't receive such compensation and we'd be happy to provide it!

Well maintained campground. Pretty low key in the fall. Was disappointed with hot tub hours8-6. Very clean restrooms. Golf is a no go so don’t bother hauling your clubs. Beautiful spot if you don’t mind highway noise…..

Wonderful place. Very clean. In a tent, the 101 noise was a bit much, but that's the way it is. Thank-you for having a nice facility.

It was great, also, it's off season! Bathroom & showers were very clean. Only downfall, is you are right next to the freeway, but that can't be changed. So much to do in the area and it's beautiful!

The hookup’s were inconveniently placed though. Otherwise it was great.

I loved my stay at this location! I ended up in a riverside cabin and it was gorgeous day and night. I would love to see it again when the river has more water, it probably would look even better. Great KOA location to stay at and explore Avenue of the Giants and parts of the Lost Coast. If I had more time to hang around the KOA, there seems to be a ton of great stuff in and nearby to check out.

Park was not kept up and golf course was in horrible condition.

It was absolutely amazing! Even though the heater for the pool was broken they re-opened it for my family and we appreciate that. The staff and facilities were beyond what we expected.

Such a great experience! Great campsites, clean bathrooms and showers, a well stocked store, and lots of amenities. Rerouting our trip home so we can stay here again.

It's a pricey place to stay for just passing through. The facilities were nice, however. All the sites were pull-through, with sewer and 50 amps. It has a golf course, but as it was fall, it was not very green. There are golf carts for rent. The sites were long enough for us to stay hooked up. We have a truck and 31 ft. trailer.

Park and golf course in very poor condition

Had a great time! Cabin was a little run down. Needed some work.

Very clean, spacious sites. Very friendly staff. Easy access. Definitely will be back.

Our dead grass at site was full of dog poo and cigarette butts. Their brochure said their sprinklers come on nightly. Someone was having a birthday party at the clubhouse which was one row away from us. Loud booming rock music and people running around till 10:00 pm. Grounds unkept. Won’t be returning.

We stayed at the Benbow KOA for spring break 2024. The staff is super helpful and friendly. Check-in was a breeze. Since it was Easter weekend, the campground staff hosted an egg hunt for the kids with an appearance from the Easter Bunny. It was pretty awesome! We stayed in a FHU “comfort” patio site 52, with relatives staying in Tent Site T1, right across the road from our site. The RV site required minimal leveling and all hookups were well maintained. The site included patio furniture and a fire pit. The patio was nice since the grass was muddy from all the winter rain. The showers and bathrooms appeared clean and maintained. The hot tub was open, but it was too early in the season for the pool and splash pad. The laundry room was large and had newer machines. The gift shop had all the essentials for RVers and guests. There is also 2 arcade games, a Star Wars pinball machine and pool table in the lounge area of the front office. They have a small library of books and board games, dice and dominoes to use. The dog park area is on the smaller side, but there are some great pet walk areas around the resort. There is also a small 9 hole golf course next to the KOA. The WiFi was good and able to stream. The cable was not so good due to limited channels and fuzz (could have been my fault). The historic Benbow Inn across the way was a nice surprise with good food options, a full bar and traditional afternoon tea. It's a short walk on a nice path or you can drive there. We were within a few freeway exits of the Avenue of the Giants and a lot of other famous trees and redwood groves in the area. One exit away, in Garberville, there is a supermarket called Ray's Food Place and an awesome Mexican restaurant called El Cora Restaurant. There are fuel options in Garberville as well. I would definitely recommend Benbow KOA to others.

We arrived just before 8:00 p.m. with no reservations and we're greeted by Chloe and Juan who attended to our every need. Thank you for hiring the best. They are definitely an asset to your company. We so enjoyed our time there even though it was real short. Thank you again for your hospitality. You were amazing! Thank you again for such a wonderful experience. We would highly recommend your campground to anyone traveling

Best KOA cabins we have stayed in. Many models to choose from in the midst of Redwood country. We have stayed there many times, and they are always outstanding. They are very clean and spotless - you can walk around in your socks and they won't get dirty. Spacious and well stocked, towels, dishes, everything. Sheets are crisp. Staff is wonderful and helpful. You can dine at the adjacent historic Benbow Inn. Just wonderful.
