It's smack dab in the middle of the Mohave Desert, but this campground has carved out a nice little oasis. Some shady spots, lots of greenery, a welcome swimming pool and friendly folks. Great for an overnight stay before heading into the LA area or as a destination to visit Calico Ghost Town just up the road. Everything you need can likely be found in nearby Barstow. Will definitely stop again.

Stayed here twice on our drive along Route 66. The sites were level. Bathrooms need a bit of work but were functional. Tried calling to make a reservation both times, left messages and no response. Did an online reservation (went ok) but second visit we got there after hours. Trying to understand pricing and map configuration was not easy. Overall, it was an ok place to stay.

I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t expect such a nice park in the desert. We only stayed one night but it would of been a great stay for a week. Beautiful pool, playground for the kids. Well maintained!! Good job

One night to break up the trip home. It's always clean and the employees are friendly.

During our four-week-plus road trip on Route 66, we stayed at KOA campgrounds whenever possible. Nowhere else did we encounter such dirty and run-down restrooms. Three showers, two of them broken; the one that worked had a showerhead that was completely encrusted with limescale, loose, and leaking. The shower faucet was so disgusting that you wouldn’t even want to touch it. Don’t stop, keep dri

Clean facilities. Dog run sites are very convenient for a stopover because we don’t need to unhook the tow vehicle.

We stay here every year on our way to/from CA. The people are friendly and helpful and they maintain the facilities nicely, continually improving things. We especially like the large "pet pen" sites and the huge Kamp K9 area. We will return next year!

No not water deluxe cabin. I did not rent deluxe cabin so that I could walk down the street carrying a change of clothes to take a shower. The circuit breaker tripped for the coffee pot.

This is a very nice koa. Best pet pen we’ve seen. Worth the stay for the pet pen. Also loved all of the lights on the pet area and picnic area. Definitely one of my favorite spots so far. Would come there again

Good place to hang your hat for a few days. The kids will love the train car and ghost town.

We paid extra for a shady 50A site but our site had no shade and no power. The maintenance worker tried to repair the plug, but he was supplied with the wrong part and he could not fix the problem, so we had to move. The next site had less shade so they moved us to a third site. After we set up we found the 50A plug was wired for 30A so we could not run both air conditioners.

Friendly, helpful staff. Clean campground and easy access to freeway. Would recommend staying here.

It is our semi-annual stop encounter Las Vegas. Staff was very friendly not like some past experiences. Restrooms were clean. Close to Peggy Sue's for good food.

Great stay, friendly staff, fun game room, refreshing pool. Negative- my son loves trains but couldn't even look in window or go in, shows archery but they don't have it. Pool game rm close 8 for quiet hrs, is this a nursing home. Families travel, gets late, kids need excircize.

Kudos to Mike who I stopped while he was headed home. He stayed late to help me fix my microwave that was coming out of the wall. He was very gracious and helpful when he could have easily not bothered. Give him raise. You don't want to lose people like that.

Perfect spot for starting our journey to explore the Eastern Sierra byway. Dodge camper van, 2 adults and a Siberian Husky worked quite well for our stay.

Quiet, peaceful, very welcoming and nice shady spot. Like the upgrades.

Very clean and updated shower room. We requested a fire ring, it was delivered promptly. Easy overnight stay. We'd definitely stay again. Staff was friendly and helpful. Grounds were well maintained.

Very nice stay.

The front office staff person was very helpful and friendly. I am sorry that I do not recall her name. My site was convenient to the facilities and we reserved an RV site WITH a private dog run and picnic area. This was perfect for us. While our time here was very short- only about 14 hours- we would happily stay here again as it is a convenient stopping point between UTAH and Southern California.

This campground was wonderful. The site was clean and spacious, the facilities were easy to access and very well maintained and the store was large and well-stocked. A surprisingly nice place to stay in the middle of the desert! It's a great place to camp!

We enjoyed our stay, and we are grateful for the large pull-through so that we didn't have to unhook the Jeep.

Not all sites are big rig friendly. we were in site 26 and could not pull out until the camper in front of us left due to the poor placement of a fixed BBQ pit in the site next to us. 25. You can see it has been hit in the past and should be a top priority to move it.

We were there for an overnight stay. Check in was easy, staff was courteous and efficient and the campground was clean with all hook ups functioning.

Barstow, calico koa is a well maintained resort. The basketball court is new. They have hammocks. This koa buts up to the desert with views for 10s of miles. The calico ghost town is near by and would be worth the trip. It's proximity to the 15 and 40 is phenomenal.

Just a quick overnight. Bathrooms and showers are clean and easy pull thrus. Staff is helpful. Nice quiet spot for overnights.

This is a fine KOA, although really not the time to visit as it’s in the Mojave Desert & in Aug/Sept it’s warm & dry!! Space #22 flat, level, pull-through, easy access. Nice pool & stuff for kids to do. Looked like the showers were pay-for (but no signage??). Calico Ghost twn neat/touristy. Angelina & Ricardo very helpful/nice; Amanda needed an “attitude adjustment” when we had contact

I had a wonderful time! The campground was beautiful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The swimming pool was just right. The shower house / restrooms were very nice. If I am traveling in that part of the country , I am going to stay here again. I enjoyed my stay!

Nice facility located right off the freeway.

Friendly and helpful staff. The only thing I would change is having benches in each shower stall and grab rails in the actual shower for safety.

Everyone was so nice and welcoming. The campground offers a ton of amenities and options to stay. We just couldn't use any of them, except the pool, as we were there in a Heat Advisory covering the entire western US. We loved the campground and the convenience to all things Barstow. We may be coming back again one day if we decide to drive the entire length of Route 66. Thanks for everything.

Had the best stay! Staff was friendly, and the cabin was clean and cozy. Lots of holiday touches, including activities for the kids. This year, Barstow KOA added decorative Halloween comforters (bedding) and other decorations throughout. It was a nice surprise to walk into a decorative space that I didn't have to plan. The kids loved it. Only steps from Calico Ghost Town, so ultra convenient (and these cabins are much nicer than the ones in the actual ghost town). We'll definitely be coming back!
