Located at head of Mount Desert Island at the intersection of Rt 3, Rt 102, and County Rd. Follow Rt 1A to Ellsworth and Rt 3 toward Bar Harbor on Mount Desert Island. Crossing onto the island, SLOW DOWN and take an immediate far-right turn on to County Road. The registration office is immediately on your right. Please GPS to the Bar Harbor Oceanside KOA, NOT the street address.

With Acadia National Park in the area, you can enjoy hiking in Bar Harbor on various trails that feature beautiful landscapes. Here are some popular hiking spots in Bar Harbor.
Make the ascent to the summit of Cadillac Mountain or hike part way using the various trails. Cadillac Mountain has a north and south trail that hikers can use to reach the top. Both are out-and-back trails and moderately difficult. The Cadillac North Ridge Trail is about a 4.4-mile round trip and shows gorgeous views of Bar Harbor, the Schoodic Peninsula and Frenchman Bay.
If you want a longer hike, consider the Cadillac South Ridge Trail. It is about a 7-mile roundtrip and offers fantastic ocean views and surrounding islands.
Another scenic trail in Bar Harbor is the Schooner Head Path in Acadia National Park. The out-and-back trail is about 5.6 miles long, and it is great for hikers of all skill levels, including children. You will have beautiful coastline views while walking the gravel path. The trail is also an excellent place for birding and running.
If you want to go on a quick hike while in Bar Harbor, the Great Meadow Loop trail in Acadia National Park is an excellent spot. The trail is approximately 2 miles long and kid-friendly. It has a gravel and dirt foundation, making the path easy to walk.
Although short, the trail offers plenty of opportunities to see wildflowers and wildlife during your stroll.
