I had a very nice check in experience. The escort to the site was super helpful. Friendly staff all around. Bonus had a great guy camping next to me from Denver. Night sky announcement was awesome. I went out to witness it. Nothing like that in the Baltimore area. LOL. Thanks for having me,

Such a wonderful group of people running such a lovely place! We rented sand boards from them and they gave us a low down and tips. We also got their breakfast burritos (yum) and coffee from the coffee shack- sooo good. Showers were clean and hot! Great place to stay for sure!

Awesome weekend stay at Alamosa/Great Sand Dunes KOA. Nicely located with quick access to the Great Sand Dunes, Alamosa, various hiking opportunities and sights, plus fantastic star gazing from the camp, Very clean, well maintained, efficiently organized, and super friendly staff. Thank you for the pancake breakfast and most welcome barista at the coffee house for an early morning 'wake me up.'

Deb and Les were amazing. Very nice and easy to work with. The go carts were awesome. The facility is very clean. And food was great.

We enjoyed our stay. The 2 ladies who checked us in on Thursday 7/30 were very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the pancake breakfast on Sunday and the staff who ran it. Just wish that the breakfast could be cheaper or free like hotels do it. Anyway overall it was a great stay and enjoyed your campground!

The facilities were clean and the staff responsive and friendly. Appreciated the hooks in the shower stalls. A more sturdy shower caddy that can hold things without them falling off would be helpful The traffic noise out on the highway did make it difficult to sleep. A staff person was very kind to give me permission to charge my solar station (backup) for the final 10 hour stretch home.

Fantastic staff - so friendly & helpful. Site facilities were great. It's a shame the upstairs lounge is no longer available for campers - I've used it in the past. Would be great to have an indoor space where campers could sit (e.g. if tenting & it's raining or too hot outside to sit)

Everyone is very friendly. The camp is conveniently located to local attractions, and there’s a nice pool and activities for family fun.

One of my favorites so far! The hosts were fabulous and the campground was clean and cozy! Facilities and amenities were top tier! The dill pickle pizza was so yummy!

�Jo & her team were amazing! Jo's guidance gave me total confidence for our Girl Scout family trip. Check-in was great with a personal map tour. The bathrooms/showers were very clean, and our site easily fit 5 tents. Best of all, the location has incredible dark skies and an awesome star-viewing platform. We loved it and will definitely be back!

Hosts and staff were very nice and helpful, appreciated the text updates about activities. Bathrooms were clean. Pool was nice (though not warm). It would be nice if they'd provide a bench, stump or chairs at the tent sites for the fire ring. The cabins have more than they seemingly needed, but all we had was the picnic table.

The staff was beyond friendly and you got true feels for how much they love what they do. They had activities planned through the weekend and our kids enjoyed all of them (ice cream, rockets, baby goats, pancakes) as well as the campground amenities (pedal carts, playground, swimming, etc). It was safe, friendly and had all we needed.

The staff was very nice and very understanding about my check out time! I am a solo camper and I was sick during my whole stay! It took me almost 5 hours to break camp!

We were tent camping (sadly due to winds we had to car camp) but Jo was quick to check on us and made sure our stay was great. Showers were clean and the site clear! Will be staying again!

We needed to get away! Thanks for providing that! The off season quietness, the friendliness of Deb, Lee, Dale and Jo was a warm welcome on these brisk days! The tent site was level and tidy! We enjoyed the night sky viewing platform (wish fellow campers had turned off their exterior lights) Hope to see you sometime when the river is running!

Garth greeted me as I drove up & checked me in, then escorted me to my tent site! He informed me with a flyer about the Hunt Bros Pizza that they cook up (reasonable $), so I took them up on it for the night 1. Heather delivered it to me! The other gal (sorry, I forgot her name) that winters in FL checked me in for night 2 informed me all about the Dunes, Zapata Falls & other sights in the area!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Campground and campsite were both good. Restrooms and showers were clean. My only complaint (very minor) was with the Wi-Fi. While present, it did not work very well. When using from a mobile device you had to connect then open a browser and accept the terms. When connecting a TV, it would not work. No way to get to the second screen and accept terms.

Shady nice tend place with shelter by wooden side walls. Friendly staff (as always at KOAs) and a fantastic pizza service. About 30 miles distance from the Great sand dune national park and about 3 miles from the nice Alamosa.

(Oct 2026) This KOA is awesome! They are very attentive to campers needs. They keep you informed about important activities or needs. Les and Deb (owners), Jo and Dale (managers) are do an amazing job - constantly working on up-keep, and new additions to engage campers. I love that our Kabin had new windows with pretty curtains (not a fan of mini blinds), a space heater, a mini fridge, and a porch swing! It really felt like coming home! I will return!

It was wet and cold for the one night we were there and it wasn't too muddy or gross. A little playground for the kids, pool if open, and the go karts. Bathrooms clean and nice quality. Hot showers. Overall, no terrible pros or cons. It was only one night we were there.
