On Hwy 160 and Juniper Lane: The Alamosa / Great Sand Dunes KOA Journey is 3.5 miles east of Alamosa at mile marker 237 on the north side of Hwy 160.

Alamosa KOA is already planning our 3rd Annual Chili Cook-off in September, 2025 (date to be announced soon)! The "SLV Battle of the Bowls" is a Peoples Choice contest that awards prizes for the best red and green chilis. In our first two years we raised over $10,000 for Care Camps! Attendees were able to taste and vote for their favorite chili, listen to music provided by Alamosa's top DJ, and make smores at our community firepit. If you are staying with us be sure to come and taste some great chili, and maybe enter a pot of your own! First prize is $500. For more information call the KOA at 719-589-9757.
