Our activities schedule begins with the First Weekend in May, and ends with the first weekend in October. See our Events Schedules for a list of our themed weekends with planned activities. Our planned activities include free crafts, ceramics program ($), and wagon rides, kiddie train rides (on selected weekends only, and much, much more!
Events & Activities Schedule
Camping is all about family and having fun! Join us for our themed weekend Events! The events are the themed weekends and provides an over view of what's happening. The Ducky News is our Weekend activity schedule that lists when the activities are happening, what is happening, and where it's happening. Every camper is provided a written copy at check in! Make sure you get yours so you don't miss any of the fun!
Ceramics Program ($) Every Saturday Afternoon from Memorial Day through mid-September!
Ginny will be here to teach ceramics classes most weekends($) from Memorial Day Through Labor Day Weekend! Ginny does charge a modest fee per piece and for materials. Prices vary by piece. There are pieces you can finish in one day!
Check our advance activities schedule at The Ducky News! It will list if there will or will not be ceramics on that given weekend. The Ducky news is published the Monday prior to the weekend on the website and lists the tentative times and places of our weekend activities.
Our swimming pool is 20 X 40. Come cool off in our refreshing clean pool!
Catch and Release Fishing - no fee, and no license required!
Be a catfish hunter! Snag a large mouth bass - they all await you in our one acre lake, our 2-acre lake, and our other 4-5 small ponds. We have large and small mouth bass, catfish, bluegills, crappies, sunfish, carp, algea eaters, and more! Catch and release, please! No license is required. We pay the fee so you can fish at no charge!

+ May 10 – Care Camps Big Weekend! It’s a BOGO Discount!
It’s a BOGO Discount! Campers who stay as paying guests on a campsite on Friday, will receive a free night of camping on Saturday in hopes that they will donate all or part of their free night to support the 44 KOA Care Camps for kids with cancer that are located around North America. We’ll have candy bar BINGO, family BINGO, and adults BINGO with 50/50 drawings to raise money too! All aboard! The Brookdale Express will be running for all children under 48” tall! (Please note: Cabin rentals are not included in BOGO offer.)

June 14 - Father's Day Weekend! (VKR Kids Camp Free!)
Father's Day Weekend! (VKR Kids camp free!) It’s time for the Brookdale 500 Mini Auto Race (for guys only, Ages 16 thru adult!) Race a stock, 2 oz. or under Matchbox type car). Father & child (under 13) Bean bag tourney (aka corn hole)! We'll have Smith’s hotdogs & a potluck picnic dinner for dad! Bring a tureen side dish or dessert to share at our Father’s Day picnic pot luck dinner! Don't forget, kids camp free at all participating KOA Campgrounds! The Thurston Classic Hot Air Balloon Festival in nearby Meadville!
June 21 – Death By Chocolate Weekend!
Death By Chocolate Weekend! You're going to think you've died and gone to heaven! We'll have candy bar BINGO (7 games on one, full-size candy bar!), a free ice cream sundae social made with Marcie’s homemade, hand-dipped ice cream with all the fixings, and an after-dark flashlight chocolate hunt! It’s heavenly!
June 28 – Civil War Encampment & Living History Weekend
Civil War Encampment & Living History Weekend – Come experience in living history, what it was like during the Civil War with the 150 PVI Bucktails at this award-winning event! Come see the demonstrations, Civil War period dress, what life was like for the soldiers, and more. Please note, there will be loud noises such as musket and cannon firings. This is a fun, history learning weekend for adults and children!

Meadville KOA has been awarded the 2013-2014 KOA President’s Award by Kampgrounds of America, the world’s largest system of family-friendly campgrounds. The award was presented at KOA’s 51st Annual International Convention in Austin, TX. The KOA President’s Award is presented annually to campgrounds that receive high scores in customer service from their campers, and also receive top scores in KOA’s Annual Quality Review. KOA surveys hundreds of thousands of campers each year regarding their KOA camping experience. The Meadville KOA has won this award since 2011, their first year in the KOA franchise system.

Tim & Robyn Chilson purchased Brookdale Family Campground in October of 1999. Tim was an Accountant & Office Manager for a public gas utility and Robyn was an Engineering Technician for a chemical company in the electronics industry. They are members of ARVC, NCA, and PCOA. Tim Regional vice president on the PCOA Board of Directors. Both have attended the Graduate Program of ARVC's School of Campground Management. Tim & Robyn Chilson have both earned their initial CPO Certification. In 2011, Brookdale Family Campground was invited to join Kampgrounds of America.
We would like to extend our warmest welcome to you and your family! As campers for over 30 years ourselves, our family has enjoyed many fun-filled weekends and camping vacations. We hope to bring that same camping fun to you. We hope that your stay with us in Northwestern PA will be a fun-filled, family camping experience with memories that last a lifetime!
