No Offsite Firewood Permitted
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY ... No off site firewood may be brought into the camp ground. There are several existing wood diseases which are carried by pests in firewood that can destroy our trees and we do not want that to occur. Thanks for your cooperation. USDA
As a campground many of maple trees are in trouble, elms do not live long and cherry's are suspect. There is an hardwood disease on the west coast, this is currently being past on by pallets. Wood - tree maintenance is a significant cost of what we only cover 1/2 of those costs by firewood sales.
Store / Office Hours
Off-season November 1, 2011 -April 1, 2012 Office & buildings, and bathrooms are closed. During off-season we only allow 9 RV sites full hookup, for night registration or internet reservation. All reservations made 3 days prior to arrival will have note attached to front door or on the night registration table. If you arrive without a reservation please use the night registration table. Only on Saturdays Store /Office open 10am-2pm.
Check-In Time after 2pm, Check-out is 12PM (NOON)
Mid-April to Memorial Weekend and After Labor Day to Mid October. Sunday through Friday 8AM-9AM and 4PM-7PM (close 8PM Fridays and 6PM Sunday.) Saturday 8AM-8PM.
In Season Memorial Weekend to Labor Weekend Monday through Thursday 8AM-8PM Friday & Saturday 8AM - 9PM Sunday 8AM - 7PM
Eight Golf Courses
These golf courses are all located just 20 minutes or less from the campground. The only FREE Public Pro Golf Course in the U.S., Mercer was voted in the top ten golfing locations in the USA.

All within 1/2 hour or less. Fishing and boat rentals available.

Wendell August Forge
One of the very few remaining forges in the country that continues to produce forged aluminum, pewter, bronze, and sterling silver articles entirely by hand, using no production machinery. Open Monday thru Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visit Wendell August Forge online for more information. Currently due to a fire in 2010 the factory tours have been closed. The plan is for 2012 reopening.
Main Street Volant
Stories include Cards & Critters, Etc., Southwest Options, Walters Jewelers, The Cedar Chest Collection, G. Wiesen and Co., and much more. Open 361 days a year (closed New Year’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas). Shopping hours are Monday thru Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday Noon to 5 p.m. (some winter hours may apply).
