Plan Ahead for Your 2025 Glacier National Park Visit

Plan Ahead for Your 2025 Glacier National Park Visit

Glacier National Park is one of the most breathtaking destinations in the country, but to ensure a smooth visit, it's essential to plan ahead. From June 13 through September 28, 2025, visitors entering the west side of Going-to-the-Sun Road and North Fork between 7 AM and 3 PM will need a timed entry vehicle reservation or a service reservation, along with a valid Park Entrance Fee or Pass.

What You Need to Enter Glacier National Park

Visitors must have:

  1. A timed entry vehicle reservation OR proof of a service reservation (lodging, camping, boat tours, horseback rides, etc.).

  2. A Park Entrance Fee OR a valid Park Pass (Annual, Senior, Military, etc.).

If you're using a rental vehicle, select “Rental Vehicle” when purchasing a Park Pass on Recreation.gov. The system will autofill the license plate as “N/A.”

How to Visit Without a Reservation

  1. The park is open 24/7, and visitors can enter reservation areas before 7 AM or after 3 PM without a vehicle reservation.

  2. Tribal members and landowners inside the park do not require a vehicle reservation.

Booking Your Vehicle Reservation

  1. 120-day Advance Reservations: Available starting February 12, 2025, at 8 AM MST on a rolling basis.

  2. Next-Day Reservations: Released at 7 PM MDT starting June 12, 2025.

  3. All reservations must be made on Recreation.gov.

Changes to Many Glacier Access

Due to construction in the Swiftcurrent area, personal vehicle access will be restricted in Many Glacier from July 1 to September 21, 2025. Instead, a temporary shuttle service will be provided for hikers. All trail access will begin at the Many Glacier Hotel upper parking lot, with detours adding up to an extra mile each way.
