Our address is 25027 S Interstate WaKeeney, KS; GPS does not always recognize our address. IF YOU ARE TRAVELING I-70, TAKE EXIT 127. Turning south off of I-70, LOOK FOR A KOA YELLOW SIGN on the west side of the road before the 24/7 station; you will be turning EAST into the north entrance of the Travel Shoppe/Subway Station. IF YOU ARE TRAVELING SOUTH ON HWY 283, once you pass under the Interstate, LOOK FOR A KOA YELLOW SIGN on the west side of the road before the 24/7 station; you will be turning EAST into the north entrance of the Jump Start/Subway Station. IF YOU ARE TRAVELING NORTH ON HWY 283, you will see a BLUE RV SIGN on the east side of the road near the Jump Start/Subway station; you will then turn EAST into the north entrance of the Jump Start/Subway station. The paved road is S INTERSTATE and will take you into the entrance to the KOA.
If you plan to arrive after the office closes, your information will be in the Night Registration Box to the right of the store entrance.

This past year, Kampgrounds of America (KOA) transformed its recognition system for outstanding campgrounds by establishing the ICON Awards. These awards are based on campground rankings within tier groups determined by total camper nights. The criteria emphasize enhancing the guest experience through the Net Promoter Score (NPS), year-over-year improvements, and brand engagement. The ICON Awards recognize the top 10% of campgrounds of similar size within the KOA family.
As a smaller campground, WaKeeney KOA Journey is honored to be included among its peers in this elite classification, showcasing our commitment to excellence in the camping industry. We were both surprised and humbled to be named one of the recipients of the 2025 ICON Award.
