Clean and quiet campground and lots of things for kids to do

We are Seniors & also have a trailer at a small seasonal campground on a lake. Over the past 20 yrs we have stayed at the Thunder Bay KOA or Parry Sound KOA when heading north or returning to our Southern Ontario home. We use KOAs for overnight stops when travelling in Canada and the USA if located on our route and other smaller campgrounds with good facilities are not available.

We recently stayed at Thunder Bay KOA for our first camping trip, and it was great. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, guiding us through everything we needed to know. The campsites were spotless, and the washrooms and showers were impressively clean and well-maintained. The pool area is a perfect set up for those hot summer days. Overall I would recommend.

Washrooms were exceptionally clean. Campsite was clean and hook ups were close. Only downside was the site was near a marsh. Loads of mosquitoes and black flies. Next time I’ll choose a site on higher ground.

We have stayed in several KOAs within Canada & USA. Thunder Bay is our favorite! It is always welcoming, very clean (washrooms & showers are super clean), level campsites, quiet & awesome staff. Highly recommended!

The main entrance road was extremely bad. It really, really needs to be paved! Staff were great but the main office area didn't have a lot of grocery type items. Our patio area was very nice.

Our stay was wonderful! The upkeep of this campground is wonderful, our boys always had something to do, our dogs were so happy. We were accommodated very well with a comfortable trio of campsites for our large family all side by side. Every staff member was very kind and welcoming. It was just a very comfortable and fun experience and we will stay again if we travel that way in the future!

It is always great to camp at this KOA. Friendly staff and service. Always smiling. I would recommend fixing a couple of spots on the road coming into the KOA and also for the cleaning of bathrooms to make the same time every day. Otherwise everything is 100%. Thank you.

We stayed at a Deluxe Cabin. It was spotless and the area was clean. The unexpected view was amazing as it overlooked Lake Superior. We got to use some of the amenities the park offers and had a fantastic weekend!

Road in and out need to be re-done as they in bad shape. The filling your own bag of fire wood is painful since the wood gets caught on the bag. Very nice campground that is well kept! Clean bathroom and pool area.

Very pleasant and welcoming. The personnel is highly competent and the manager of this campground is a women that knows every things about her site and the visitors. Her accessibility and her diponibility for everything to help her guests is remarkable ! Thanks to KOA Thunder Bay.

We had a great stay. Very friendly staff. Excellent amenities. Both us and the kids enjoyed all the activities. Very nice washrooms/ showers. If we needed it, they had it Thanks again for the great memories.

It’s our first stay at a KOA-very impressive, whole family loved it and we’ll be back again. Beautiful pools, splash pad and friendly staff. Really fun, challenging jump pad and playground for kids. Very clean and comfortable showers and washrooms. The main office has RV supplies and there’s also a wood shed and propane refill station Convenient location right off the Trans Canada highway.

Best campground we’ve stayed at in two years! Over 200 well-maintained sites, daily upkeep, and endless activities for kids — pools, jumping pads, and even a dog area with its own swim bath. Clean, hot showers, plenty of bathrooms, and a well-stocked shop with RV essentials. Easy registration, friendly staff, and great location near shopping and Kakabeca Falls Highly recommend!

Staying at the KOA Thunder Bay each summer has become a family tradition for us. My kids are 11 and 14 and they still look forward to it each year. I am always so impressed with how the grounds are constantly being changed and upgraded to bring new activities for the kids or just to keep everything in great shape. Amazing staff, clean facilities, lots of fun. Can't wait for next year!

Excellent campground with many amenities. Perfect for kids. I wish laundry was a little cheaper ($5 each for washer and dryer) but they worked great. Clean bathrooms and showers. Salt water pool was amazing! A little road noise.

This is not a traveller friendly KOA. Unfriendly and apathetic, grumpy staff. Pool music super loud! Outrageous pricing for laundry!! Doing work around the office and machinery and staff driving past very fast.

Le camping est très bien et propre. Les emplacements ne sont pas tous très grands mais le nôtre était plus grand donc parfait. Attention: l'autoroute ET le chemin de fer passent très proches du camping. On entend l'autoroute en tout temps et le train siffle quand il passe. Ça surprend la 1ere fois. Le camping est très bien aménagé pour les enfants. Il y a plein d'activités. Les 2 piscines sont chauffées avec gilets, jeux, bouées. Mise à part le bruit de la route et du train (non négligeable mais pas insurmontable non plus) c'est parfait et bien situé.

Booked a patio site. It was nice and clean. Staff was friendly. The road in is rough and looks like you are headed to an abandoned mine. Other than that it's just a normal KOA.
