Meet Your Hosts

The Kupers

4th Generation Grandchildren Mila-Emily-Kyle-Harleigh

Kristie and Michael Kuper met as teenagers, when he came to work for her Dad, Henry Epp, at her Dad's RV sales and repair business. The two were working side by side and romance soon followed. The Kupers and their boys, Andy and Kelly, worked together with Kristie's parents expanding and improving the Thunder Bay KOA. In 1998, Mike and Kristie took over the property and together with their boys continue to ensure all their campers have an awesome time!

They have received the KOA Presidents Award every year since it was created and received the Founders Award multiple times. Woodall's proudly rates the campground 5W in both facilities and recreation and Trailer Life rates the KOA 8.5/9/8.5.

In 2011, they were selected KOA'S "Kampground of the Year" for all of North America, winning the honor from over 400 campgrounds in the U.S.A. and Canada. If you have never visited the Thunder Bay KOA, make the time and pay a visit. You will be sure to have a wonderful camping experience!

It's just not the amenities that makes the Thunder Bay KOA Kampground of the Year - it's the Kupers. They are wonderful ambassadors for the City of Thunder Bay and surrounding area. The Kupers know how to make their camping guests feel special and their campers truly feel this from the moment they drive through the front gates.

The Kupers thank all of their returning camping guests and welcome the many new campers!
"We are glad you stopped by to visit our campground, do come and visit again soon."
