It is a nice KOA. Unfortunately our site was in a poor location. We were placed in a site directly next to a cabin and under a motion sensored street lamp. The cabin had dogs in it who howled and barked non-stop and the light turned on when anything moved around, including cars on the street. When I brought my concerns to staff they were unable to help and apathetic.

Extremely unprofessional staff members. Safety concerns were not put out to campers when dangerous wildlife was actively on the campground. If a message can be sent about activities, a message can be sent to warn campers about active dangers.

Managed to get a last minute tent site, and the staff were really helpful to make sure I had everything I needed. Just stayed one night as I'm hiking the CDT. Facilities are great, very clean restrooms and laundry room, and a well stocked camp store.

Overall excellent as usual. However, Saturday morning at 4 am someone started yelling on the property and the police were called. It went on for an hour and I we were trying to get a decent nights rest before court bike ride. Police were there and individual continued yelling for one hour. Do you not have a rule in Steamboat for disturbing the peace? Individual walked away???

The campground was well maintained and the site was well kept. The movie on Saturday night ran much past quiet hours and my tent site was so close to both the pavilion and the next tent site that we could hear the movie and our neighbors the entire time late into the night

Gorgeous river, well lit, fun activities. I removed two stars because it was a very noisy campsite with loud screaming children sometimes past 10pm, and because the bathrooms were not very clean. Women's room was puddled water, hair everywhere, not great, kinda gross. Staff were helpful though and the location was nice.

It was a wonderful stay! We loved all of the amenities and activities available to us at the KOA site, and the store had everything we needed that we may have forgotten. Our only complaint / suggestion would be on a better bear-proof dumpster solution, just for the safety of everyone (bear included!)

As a tent camper, I found the road noise to be very loud, and it interrupted my sleep. We had friends camping across the bridge in some of your cabins. Our kids would ride back and forth, but I felt like them sharing a narrow bridge with vehicles wasn't very safe, and I wish you had a smaller sidewalk/pedestrian bridge for them to use. The kids really enjoyed the pool and large chess set.

Most of the staff was kind and helpful except one lady who seemed to be the queen bee- Barbara, Karen, Janet, I don’t remember her name. She was condescending and rude. When I told her about the street light that kept flashing on and off all night long keeping me up, her answer wasn’t of any concern but defensive and dismissive. The sites are a bit closer together than I'd like, but everything was clean and well kept. The staff was very friendly too.

No thought to tent campers. Flood lights pointing at tents. Kids running around screaming until midnight. Don't stay here in a tent. I have a 13 year old. I guess if you have multiple kids and are in a group you will not be bothered. The more expensive tent sites are all on top of each other, not just side by side, but front to back. No good for tents no matter where you are here.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

the light in question is a security light, as for kids screaming until midnight, we have a on call number that could have been called and we would have dealt with the noise

Very pleasant campground. Clean. Well kept. Friendly staff. My tent site (17) had no shade, so I brought a canopy. All other tent sites were shaded by big trees. Yampa River flowed right through campground for tranquil setting. New cabins look inviting. Highly recommended campground.

We had a lovely time. And it’s always particularly nice to have clean bathrooms! My only suggestion? Whenever we would go into the front office to ask a question about the campsite or the city, several of the older ladies seemed bothered and perturbed that we would even ask them anything. I might suggest they need some customer service training.

We spent a few days here and out of all the KOAs on this month long trip this was by far the best. There were planned activities everyday such as, tie dyeing, smores gathering, bingo and more. There is a nice pool and plenty of games for the kids. Bike rentals too. The showers were clean. The gift shop/camp store had so much to offer. We were set up right by the river and had amazing views.

This KOA is fantastic! Super friendly and helpful staff. Tons of activities for the kids. I wish the sites were a liiiiittle further apart from each other, but I get it. Love this campground, will definitely be back!

I was unable to place tent stakes in the gravel. The tent sites are way over priced. I stayed at the KOA verses another campground because I needed a safe environment. The spray used to clean the bathroom and cabins stinks. It reminds me of being at a cheap hotel where the smell is suppose to cover the lack of cleanliness.The public places were very clean.

Beautiful camping grounds. Clean facilities and very easy to check in and out. Kind staff and very well kept grpunds in general. Plenty of amenities for families and kids. I will definitely be visiting again!

O my,what a wonderful place. Lovely place,and the bus service at the park to downtown. You can get stumbling drunk down town and ride the bus back to park!

All staff was very friendly and inviting. I had difficulty with small tent stakes on the tent pad and wanted to purchase larger ones. Since it was the end of the season non were available! The staff kindly helped with large nails from the maintenance shed that made my stay much dryer and more comfortable! Everyone so nice and helpful

Overall, a pleasant stay. The only thing we weren’t crazy about ( we were tent camping) was the very loud car sounds that went right by our site around 5:30am in the morning. It woke us up for the day and would have appreciated a bit more of a rustic feeling than one in a parking lot. That being said, we probably should have looked more at the location of our site.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the facilities were clean and as expected. The shuttle bus right at the campground is very convenient, but if you are in the area to explore the town of Steamboat you will find the campground is just a bit out of the way.

Camp host Josh was fun and has made the park very nice! We stay almost every year and saw a difference this year! This park is so beautiful we come back over and over, thanks for the amazing memories!
