It was a quiet little campground located perfectly for our needs. We were in town for our daughter’s college graduation and had a camp site and two cabins and gathered at our campsite often. Nothing fancy but met all our needs and with it being KOA weekend, it was cheaper than getting hotels.

Great overnight stay clean campground and nice nature trail

We enjoyed our stay very much. We especially enjoyed the entire camp staff as they were all friendly and cordial. We will be back again.

Sites were neglected. Sparse gravel. The whole place was not up to par. On this trip, we stayed at other parks that were also not how they were pictured, but just wanted an overnight stay and their cost was $40. For this stop, I chose it because it was on our route and because it was KOA, so expected it to be nice like other KOAs at a cost of $62.

Only stayed for one night but it was a nice place to stop for the night

Very nice except for weak wifi. Unusable.

Nice CG once you can find it behind the parking yards. Small but sufficient for a 3-4 day stay while enjoying the surrounding areas.

We have been to noth St. Louis area KOAs. Both are fine but we prefer the Granite City one when our trip will allow a choice.

Need better signage. Price on the high side for what is there.

Sites REALLY close.

The staff is belligerent, hostile, rude, aggressive, & makes up rules on the fly. My experience seems to mirror other 1 star Google reviews spanning many years so its evident they don't care. I won't be back. I would have left immediately after our interaction but my work schedule made that impractical. The full story is on google, this review limits characters.

The staff was very pleasant and informative. The KOA is in need of some building improvements and updates.

Bien situé, sanitaire et douche dans la moyenne, internet trés faible.

A perfect spot for us to stay overnight as we travelled to the Grand Canyon!
May 06, 2023
Not sure why we were put in the very back on small spot at end and very close to camper next to us, but it was quiet and we slept well. Grassy spot and if your hookups are in back you will need long hose and electric cord and cable for that spot.

The campground was ok. However, it took me over an hour to find the camp ground. Your campground totally deficient in signage to direct you to the camp ground from the nearest highway intersection. No signs at the intersection, and the sign at Dial Road is too far from Chain of Rocks Road to be illuminated by headlights travelling on Chain of Rocks road. Please, more signs on highway 270.

The worst KOA ever. Dirty, unkept, and in disrepair. Pass it by.
May 04, 2023
Easy in and out sites. Good location to visit St Louis. Very odd location in the middle of a heavily industrial area. So odd to drive into what looks like a trucking hub to get to the KOA. Terrible aesthetics due to location. It was quiet and clean and staff was friendly and helpful. Wouldn’t stay again though due to bad aesthetics.

Awful neighborhood, run down campground. KOA should be embarrassed to call this a member of the KOA family. You need to do some additional and better policing of your member parks whether they are journey, holiday or resort. Not the first time we have run into a sub par campground under the KOA umbrella and this one really gives me pause as to future stays at your campgrounds.

We stayed here as a resting place for the weekend while we were in town for a race & to visit friends. It was a relaxing spot to call home for a couple of nights.

Great facility and great people So close to St. Louis yet tucked in a very nice and quiet area off the Interstate (easy to get off and back on)

Great stay and a pretty place.

Very nice overnight stay. A bit difficult to get to having to go through St. Louis

The lot was almost level. Now for the bad. Dog park was small and full of sh*t. The people in 12D just let their dog out to sh*t in other sites and never bothered to pick it up. The entire place had a smell of septic. We were there for 1 quick overnight stay. I don’t recommend

Friendly checking Helped with directions

Friendly check in! SIL was very personalable! Clean site! I'd stay again!
Apr 26, 2023
Beautiful site with lovely old trees providing shade around the sites! The only thing we’d recommend is adding a few more signs to alert us when to turn, etc. Pretty obscure place to find & easy to miss

You couldn't hide a campground better than this one. No signs for guidance and when you finally see one, you think you're entering a cement plant!
Apr 22, 2023
The park needs help. Trash everywhere, staff unavailable and lazy, cable didn’t work, cats rooming around, grass overgrown, no poop bags in the bin, water pressure horrible. Corporate KOA needs to step in.
Apr 22, 2023
We reserved 3 nights but the lady at the desk thought we had only reserved 1 night so she put us in the overnight area which was totally in the sun. There were plenty of spots available in the shaded area. We got all set up and then I noticed that we were the only ones in that area. Being setup etc. didnt want to take down and move again. We stayed 2 nights and left.
Apr 20, 2023
Host very nice. Grounds, buildings below KOA standards.
Apr 20, 2023
It would have been much better or ideal if there had been some TV reception or at least minimal local cable channels provided.

Welcoming staff. Unattractive campground in a strange location.
Apr 18, 2023
We had unfortunate weather during our stay with Tornado Warnings and Sirens, but the host was very accommodating and might sure everyone could shelter including the pets. Beyond this, two things slightly marred our stay. 1.) No propane for RVs (Insurance Issue). 2.) Being placed in a Buddy site with a 50 AMP Class A. Not ideal particularly for a six night stay.
Apr 18, 2023
The site was easy to get into and the electricity and water worked. I’ve stayed in a number of different KOA‘s and this is by far the most rundown I’ve ever seen.
Apr 17, 2023
Campground was nice and clean. Wi-Fi was terrible. We had a tornado come through while we were there and they had no instructions or signs of where a shelter might be. Called the emergency number on office before sirens went off to get a plan together with no call back.
Apr 17, 2023
The staff were very friendly and helpful. This was especially good when we had a tornado warning and helped us get ourselves and our pets sheltered in the bathrooms. The bathrooms were clean, but the roof leaked on us while we were sheltering. All the facilities were in good working order. However the place had a feeling of unkemptness. Long grass and too low tree branches.
Apr 17, 2023
The grounds were not attractive. Our picnic table should have been retired long ago. Playground equipment was not very clean.
Apr 17, 2023
Not a bad place, but it needs to be cleaned up quit a bit. One thing in particular bothered me. They were flying a faded American flag. Unacceptable. The KOA flag was pretty bad also. A positive note is that the manager handled a tornado warning very well. Getting everyone into the restrooms and checking in with us often to let us know what was going on. Would I stay there again? Yes, but it coul.

Pro-nice staff, level sites. Cons-the park is dilapidated, sites are narrow and need gravel, playground needs power washing, it looks poorly maintained. I know it just reopened and hopefully it will look better soon It is extremely noisy here due to trains, Granite City school bus depot next door, beeping trucks behind, I suggest, when not crowded, leave a site between rigs for more privacy.

Looking for a RV site close to the attractions in St Louis, found this park wasn't to sure about it after reading the previous reviews but we pulled in without a reservation. Desk crew was very helpful and was in a site in just a few minutes. Good gravel interior roads full hookups, cabins and tent sites also. Park is located in an industrial area but once you are in the park you wouldn't know it. Pool, propane, laundry closes at 6pm, clean bathrooms with showers. 10 miles from the Arch 4 miles from Chain of Rocks bridge. Like all KOAs it's a little bit pricey but definitely the best park we found close to town. Seems safe easy in and out WiFi worked great would have given 5 stars if the laundry was open later.
