We were in one of the new patio campsites and it was great. It was very quite and peaceful . We will definitely be returning to this KOA.

Reasonable camping, but Not up to KOA standards (amenity wise), grounds not upkept. More like a state park, style campground. If you are looking for no frills, then this is a great place for a you

Good full service hookup however arrived early which thought was almost 1 but they are right on the central time zone I would put a disclaimer on their main page about the time difference. However they did accommodate us and gave us a great spot!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Russell Springs KOA is on central time. The Eastern time zone is the next county. I'm glad we count accommodate you.

Excellent stay, would have liked to have seen the store open.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are glad to get anything out of the store you wish as our store is curb side service. Unfortunately with a small staff and quarantine a possibility, the risk to our operation and customer service made business as usual not possible at this time.

Very nice place to camp with a R V John and Susan was very friendly
Sep 09, 2020
Site was nice and clean. Staff was very helpful and friendly!
Sep 09, 2020
Staff were really friendly but the sites were very tight - we have a 40 foot motorhome with four slideouts so it was tight for a larger rig. It is just minutes (maybe 2) away from the Lake Cumberland Marina (f/k/a Alligator II Marina) so that makes it a perfect place to stay to boat all day and the marina has tons of slips to rent to keep your boat in the water.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

The location of Russell Springs KOA makes it the perfect hub for Lake Cumberland. We are glad your enjoyed your stay.
Sep 08, 2020
The site was a little muddy due to rain. Some gravel would help to keep things dry. Pool was clean. Location is a mile from Cumberland which is nice.
Sep 07, 2020
The stay was great ,staff were wonderful , site are nice. I will be back next year.
Sep 07, 2020
Would have given it a 5 star if the bathrooms were more updated and there was a dump station.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you for staying with us. We have a dump station which is located behind our store.

Location is best thing about this koa. 5 minutes to marina. I have been going to this koa for years and the present owners have made improvements. The pool is much nicer than it used to be. Cable tv and wifi are excellent. The sites are still small. They have improved the grading of sites. Last time i was there it rained the whole time but wasnt too muddy. You are in Ky so neighbors are loud.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We love our repeat customers (we have third generation campers!) Thanks for continuing to stay with us.
Aug 25, 2020
Staff was excellent.
Aug 25, 2020
Check-in was smooth, escort to lead us to our site. The staff we encountered was nice/courteous. Campground was quiet, we originally booked here because of the bluegrass festival and due to covid-19 it was cancelled. We decided to camp anyway. The other sites next to ours had a concrete patio, ours didn't, not a deal breaker. Would like to know how to request online a specific spot.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Our patio sites are loved by campers and very popular. We encourage you to call and reserve one.
Aug 24, 2020
We were being harassed by the security guard on Saturday night. It was not even 10pm and we were being yelled at for being loud. We sitting around the fire talking with the radio on LOW. You could not hear it over normal conversation. Every 20 mins he drove past our site saying something. If we were out of control we would own it. Not the case here not coming back!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

The KOA brand is committed to a family camping experience. When other camper's rights to a quiet evening are encroached upon, we are quick to respond to the complaint.
Aug 24, 2020
Thought the campground was by a lake. It's located on bluffs by the lake, but you can't even see the lake. The location is not very attractive and was over priced. We had scheduled to be there at a Bluegrass festival on site, the pricing seemed appropriate for that. With the pandemic, the festival was cancelled, but the pricing was not adjusted down. I feel it should have been half what we paid.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

The Bluegrass Festival is always a popular event at Russell Springs KOA. With the its cancellation, customers were charged our regular weekend rate not the special event rate.

I was very impressed with the campsites with concrete pads beside the rv. Nice tables, chairs, fire pit and even a great barbecue grill. Quiet and easy access.

Aug 18, 2020
Our site needed mowed, the cable was not very good as it continued to go out, permanent sites were not kept up,one permanent site had an old refrigerator laying out upside down. People we were with were put far away from us,in between a group together and had people walking in their sites all weekend. We felt the park was not kept up very well.
Aug 17, 2020
It was nice being shown to our site. Very nice facility. Spots a bit close together.
Aug 17, 2020
Not at all what I expected. Permanent sites are a eye sore

park was nice but mostly shut down due to Corona virus. Hard to give a review at this time, but would stay there again. Easy access to Lake Cumberland

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us at Russell Springs KOA. Our store is open with curb side service and delivery and is only mile from the lake ramp.

Extremely friendly staff. When my son didn't come down with the car we were stuck with no way to get to the marina for our rental. The staff dropped us off and picked us up. Saved our trip!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are so glad you got to enjoy beautiful Lake Cumberland. Hope to see you again.

Very quiet and peaceful. The pull through full hook up sites with the patio chairs and grill was really nice. Plenty of room, staff was very helpful and an overall great experience.
Jul 27, 2020
Was quiet and comfortable
Jul 24, 2020
Wonderful people, great place near water.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Russell Springs KOA is the only KOA campground on beautiful Lake Cumberland. Being close to two launch ramps makes us your perfect camping get a way for enjoying the lake.
Jul 23, 2020
Nice Park. Really like Covid restrictions.. these folks take it seriously. Very nice pool... good spots on lower levels.. other areas a bit tight... skiinny roads but passable... all good.. we'll be back !
Jul 22, 2020
Everything was good. The staff was friendly, professional and go out of their way to get you what you need. I was a bit anxious about going out in public. I felt campground was safest. Your KOA takes all the precautions and enforces all safety measures. Of any business I have had to enter this KOA was by far the most noticeable about their safety measures fighting this virus. Kudos! Coming back!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Russell Springs KOA takes the health and safety of our campers very serious and with the pandemic, more precautions are needed. We hope you come and visit us again.
Jul 20, 2020
Very peaceful place everything was nice and clean
Jul 20, 2020
This is our second visit. Check in is always quick, efficient & very welcoming. Staff is a pleasure. During Covid-19 their procedures were well conveyed to their campers & their check-in brochure gave you all the information you needed in one place. We will be back. Thank you!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

The pandemic has changed the ways to do some things and we always want to convey the necessary information to our camping guest. Hope to see you for a third visit.
Jul 19, 2020
I was very impressed with the staff arriving soon after campers left to disinfect chairs and tables. The pool was very clean and it was easy to distance.
Jul 15, 2020
Great family place. Nice pool and friendly staff.

They do not do military discounts. I gave 3 stars because they were full and accommodated us. Place is clean but old. Sites are very small. They are overlooking the lake but only in the fall and winter, if tall you can get a glimpse of the lake. There is construction material in empty sites towards the back of the campground near the "overlook". Lake only good for boaters, no beach.
Jul 12, 2020
New campers and everyone made us feel right at home...

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Welcome to the camping family. It is a great way to find rest and relaxation surrounded by nature.

This campground is a great place to stay. It's super close to two boat ramps. Only a short hour drive to Cumberland Falls Park. But what really makes this place great are the people who run it. The owner personally stopped by our campsite and went over the map of the area. Showed us the best places to visit, the best restaurants, and more. He must have spent 20 minutes at the picnic table with us. Super friendly staff!

We love the location and the campground, love that it's family owned. But possibly they could use some of the earnings to slide a bit of comfort in!! If you have a disability or “bad back”, fair warning you'll need to take something to sit on even in the “delux” cabins. The front cabin has a loveseat that pulls out. Not sure of the comfort when it was pulled out but to sit on it was horrid. Cushions ripped and taped are a bit ridiculous since it costs so much more to stay there. I fear my dear friend from out of town will not be back because there was just no way to really find even a few minutes of comfort with only 3 of us there. The shower ran out of hot water before I could even wash. Again we love the place, but some comfort is a necessity when doing that type of traveling and only so many people can squeeze in one bed. So maybe decent furniture, maybe spring for a recliner. We will hopefully be back. But matching comfort with price would be great. I recommended the place and now I feel bad because it was 2 full days and nights formal her with no way to really sit and relax, only sit. I'm always uncomfortable so until I seen someone else so uncomfortable from my recommendation did I realize. Diana, if you read this I'm sorry! I did not know what that particular cabin was like…now I know. I'll be back, but lol not for comfort.
