Loved the stay at Russell Springs KOA!! Rented the cabin and was able to enjoy Lake Cumberland and the pool as well as spending time with family that keeps their camper at the KOA.

We got there later than expected. Our info was on the door. It was interesting setting our tents up in the dark! Especially since 1 of the tents was new and we weren't sure how to stabilize it. This is the most wilderness like KoA Ive been to. The cicadas sang all night, along with other creatures. I felt safe the entire time.

We are surrounded by lots trees and the lake so the cicadas were plentiful here. Their mating cycle has will be completed by the first of June and we will return to the sounds of frogs and crickets!

Very nice staff! The owners love what they do and it shows. This campground is tucked off in the woods, nice and quiet. A quick drive to Lake Cumberland. If you are boating on this lake, staying here is the perfect spot. Definitely recommend staying here for your next camping adventure at Lake Cumberland.

My request for accessibility was honored & staff accommodated to my need. When storms blew Susan came to alert me re watch/warning, presence of shelters, & local radio station. The location is charming, shady & peaceful. Except for cicadas (!�) & spotty Wi-Fi (nature - not human- related) my stay was lovely. Check in/out was a breeze & all staff were friendly & helpful.

Tornado went thru while we were there and had no power for the entire weekend… obviously not anyone’s fault… should probably do partial refunds in these situations… also campground had no working restroom regardless of weather… seems the entire campground was unkept…. Grass was tall, tennis courts nets were hanging down…etc….

A historic tornado did hit our area the night of your arrival. We were so blessed as the tornado was within a mile and suffer only wind damage. We allowed no penalty cancellation and campers use generators and all campers were so understanding. We also had our restrooms by our store open 24/7.

Sites are too close together and not very level. Many vacant RVs. Facilities were very clean. Hosts were friendly and helpful.

We got evacuated from FL due to the hurricans.Folks at Russell Springs KOA fixed us right up. They did some moving and got us four sites which is what we needed all together. Very accommodating. Thank you for the helpful and friendly staff.

Very nice people, very accommodating. The roads are a bit rough, so be careful. Pool is nice and they have a small mini-golf course for the kiddos.

It is the nicest we’ve stayed at so far. Very well maintained, gorgeous setting, friendly owner and staff. If I was interested in the putt putt or dog park I would’ve been disappointed.

We have stayed here on several occasions to visit friends that live in the area. The area is beautiful and the staff is very accommodating and friendly. They made sure that our site was ready and that if we needed anything that we knew how to reach staff.

This campground is a great place to stay. It's super close to two boat ramps. Only a short hour drive to Cumberland Falls Park. But what really makes this place great are the people who run it. The owner personally stopped by our campsite and went over the map of the area. Showed us the best places to visit, the best restaurants, and more. He must have spent 20 minutes at the picnic table with us. Super friendly staff!

We love the location and the campground, love that it's family owned. But possibly they could use some of the earnings to slide a bit of comfort in!! If you have a disability or “bad back”, fair warning you'll need to take something to sit on even in the “delux” cabins. The front cabin has a loveseat that pulls out. Not sure of the comfort when it was pulled out but to sit on it was horrid. Cushions ripped and taped are a bit ridiculous since it costs so much more to stay there. I fear my dear friend from out of town will not be back because there was just no way to really find even a few minutes of comfort with only 3 of us there. The shower ran out of hot water before I could even wash. Again we love the place, but some comfort is a necessity when doing that type of traveling and only so many people can squeeze in one bed. So maybe decent furniture, maybe spring for a recliner. We will hopefully be back. But matching comfort with price would be great. I recommended the place and now I feel bad because it was 2 full days and nights formal her with no way to really sit and relax, only sit. I'm always uncomfortable so until I seen someone else so uncomfortable from my recommendation did I realize. Diana, if you read this I'm sorry! I did not know what that particular cabin was like…now I know. I'll be back, but lol not for comfort.
