The folks that manage and run the rusk KOA, were very helpful and friendly. We met with our kids and grandkids while we were there. We really enjoyed the stay.

We where running late and called to advise. We arrived to a very friendly staff . and a very friendly and professional lady working the front check-in.. We enjoyed our stay and the Entire staff was very professional and friendly. THANKS

Bathrooms are clean and showers nice. The office sells pizza and delicious ice cream by the cup or cone, both items being welcome after driving for hours. Staff were friendly. We were fortunate enough to be there for their Thanksgiving meal, which was amazing. The only downside of tent camping was the condition of the roads (paths?) leading to the sites.

Love having extras in cabin bathroom shower coffee pots kitchenette I usually stay in a basic rustic Room for the dogs HUGE dog run area they loved it! Quiet area Only issue- no plugin near the bathroom mirror Couldnt reach w curling iron plugged in @ the table to see what I was doing Comfy bed Friendly staff

Love this place. Its up on a hill. With sky views and alot of pine trees and others. Its super quiet. Off season, so less ppl. No WiFi. Only 17 channels, yet I got 8 and scrambled. I asked for no ppl next to me and they granted that wish. Super helpful staff! Owner- great man! Laundry nice. Wooded walking trails. Tee Pee 2 rent, cabins of a-sizes. Go carts, pool, playground. Club house, ect

Really nice and quiet place to stay, the guys here work very hard all day to keep it in great shape. I stayed at a tent site that was better than most state parks!

Stayed 2 nights in October 2025. Everything was great! We stayed in a deluxe cabin and it had everything we needed. The grounds are well maintained and had several activities offered. It was quiet and peaceful. We will definitely stay here again!

We stay at the Rusk KOA a lot. This time was not as nice as it normally is. We came back to our cabin Saturday afternoon and there was about 20+ cars parked at and around our rustic cabins, which totally ruined the view. The power was out for several hours. The office said it was open until 8p but no one ever came back to the office.

Delightful! Lovely campground , amazing staff and spotless facilities. They even had a corkscrew on sale, thank goodness. We will absolutely be back.

Camped mid October for 5 nights. Quiet, secluded KOA with level gravel sites. Our guest's cabin was clean and bed comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would return

I was on my way home after 4 months and only stayed one night, but this KOA was just what I hoped for...the check-in was easy, staff were friendly, Bill took me to my site, oh, and I love that KOA's offer a military discount. This campground has a lot of amenities for all ages, and the tall pine trees and cabins tucked away in the trees are great. I would definitely stay again... ��

It’s in a very quiet location—no traffic or train noise to disturb sleep. It appeared that there would be quite a few activities if we had not been there in off-season. In general, it was a slightly older, slightly run-down campground which was fine for a one-night stay.

I just stayed one night but I thought the Rusk KOA was very clean and pleasant. I would stay there again when traveling through this area of East Texas.

The area was very nice. The cabin was ok but the bathroom was rather small and there was no sink in the bathroom so we had to brush our teeth in the kitchen sink. The mattress was also very worn and a dent in the middle so it was uncomfortable.

Great as usual, the Saturday breakfast is definitely a highlight. Sites were clean and staff very helpful. We do love that big breakfast. Showers were also clean. Kiddo found a yellow pine cone and got a treat. We come here every couple months. There is a great Mexican restaurant downtown and the rail ride nearby is fun.

I only stay1 night but it was great. Really quiet and clean. Excellent bathrooms and showers. Was my first time at a KOA and thanks to this place, I'll be on the lokout for more!!

If you don't mind driving into what looks like a rundown campground. . .once in the main area the sites are well spaced out and long. The big issue for some is that the hook ups are at tge front of the site instead of rear. It seems that the sites are backwards. We were always taught to never "aire your dirty laundry" but in this case the run down junk is greeting you when you enter & leave.

We have stayed at Rusk KOA several times and have always had an enjoyable time. The folks that run the campground are very friendly. This campground is set back in the pine trees of east Texas and it is a nice, quiet place to relax. They have walking trails, a salt-water swimming pool, a swing-set for the kids. They have on-site Propane to refill your bottles, if needed. Will definitely go back.
