Climb the Wright Brother's Memorial
If you want to get a beautiful, panoramic view of the Outer Banks, climb the hill of the Wright Brothers Memorial. Visiting the site of man’s first flight is a must do when you visit the Outer Banks. In addition to enjoying the view, don’t forget to stop by the museum and learn about the Wright Brother's work.
See the Corolla Ponies
The northern beaches of the Outer Banks are home to a band of wild horses. No trip to the area would be complete without seeing these beautiful creatures. Take a ride with Bob’s Wild Horse Tours and see the ponies in their natural habitat from the comfort of a four-wheel drive safari truck.
Go to the Beach
You’re already so close to some of the most beautiful beaches in America, why miss out? Hop on our boat taxi and take a ride over to Corolla. You’ll be dropped off at Timbuck II, a hub of dining and shopping, and from there you can cross highway 12 and walk up Albacore Street to the public beach access. It’s about ½ a mile from Timbuck II to the beach.
If you’d rather take your own car over to the Outer Banks head to Kitty Hawk. It’s the closes beach to the campground. It’s 45 minutes to a hour from the campground, depending on traffic.
Visit H2OBX
You won’t want to miss this sprawling water park. You can relax in the lazy river, shoot down heart pounding body slides, ride epic slides with your friends or body surf in the wave pool. There’s a whole watery fun zone just for kids and they have tons of lounge chairs and umbrellas for relaxing.
Watch the sunrise over the Currituck Sound
