General Campground Information

Office & Store Info & Hours

Our camp store is a little different than most. Our store is complete with limited grocery items, snacks & drinks, water, ice, RV supplies & toiletries & a SLEW of New Orleans souvenir items!!! We keep our souvenir items, including Cafe Du Monde, more affordable than ANYBODY in the city!!! We have hot, free coffee available all day, every day, as well as special treats during the holidays. We have an event board with current city events on it.  We also have an ATM, for all your cash needs. We take care of all of your fire pit, grill & firewood needs from there. We also take care of all of your shuttle & tour needs from there.

Our office & store hours are 8 AM-7 PM daily, with the exception of some holidays. We are open 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We do continue to rent grills & fire pits, as well as sell ice & firewood, after our office/store closes, up until 10 PM. Just call our office at 504-467-1792 to get assistance with that from our night attendant. It will be charged to your site & delivered to you.

Check-in & Check-out

Check-in is anytime after 12 PM for RV & tent sites.  Check-in for Deluxe Cabins is at 3 PM.  Check-out is at 11:30 AM for all sites. There is a fee for early arrivals. SEE EARLY ARRIVAL INFO.

Types of Camping

We do not discriminate over different styles of camping. Whether you have an RV, tent, skoolie or other bus, car camping, foreigners in travel busses, or any other way you decide to camp, you are welcome here. As long as you follow our rules, our park is open to you.

After Hours Assistance

When our office is closed, we have a night attendant on all night to assist you if needed, especially with after-hour check-ins. We do continue to rent grills & fire pits, as well as sell ice & firewood, after our office/store closes, up until 10 PM. Just call our office at 504-467-1792 to get assistance with that from our night attendant. It will be charged to your site & delivered to you.

EV Charging

We do allow EV charging at our park. However, we must be notified in advance. We don't allow you to just plug in.

Quiet Hours

Our quiet hours are from 10 PM TO 7 AM daily. Our night attendant does enforce this rule, if necessary. We are in the city, with city noises, so we try to keep our park as quiet as possible at night.

Pool Hours & Info

Our pool opens around April 15th. It closes for the season around October 15th. Those dates can change, depending on the weather. When it is in season, it is open from 8 AM until 10 PM daily. We do lock it if there is lightning - until it passes. It does have a wheelchair lift. No food, glass drinks, or loud music are allowed in the pool area. There is no lifeguard on duty. Children are not allowed in the pool, without an adult.

Trash Disposal

We offer trash pick up all day up until 6PM. You can leave your trash (bagged) out in front of your site & someone will be around to pick it up. After hours, the trash needs to be taken to the dumpster at the end of our front road, down by the Rec Hall. It can not be left in front of your site at night.

Early Arrivals

There is an early check-in fee for sites of $20. Our check-out time is at 11:30 AM, so sites are typically unavailable before then. Early arrivals have a fee, as those sites have to be made available/moved around. There is typically no early check-in available for cabins.

Propane

We offer propane fills, tank exchanges & new tank purchases (20lb). Stop in our office during normal business hours, 8AM-7PM, for all of your propane needs. We do not fill propane in lightning or after hours. We do not fill or re-certify expired tanks. We can exchange those.

Fire Pit & Firewood Policy

Because we are in city limits, we are not permitted to have fire pits on each site, or on the ground. Because of this, our patio sites are the only ones with fire pits. We do rent fire pits out for those who want one & don't have one on their site. If you bring one, it has to be up off of the ground. We sell firewood in the office. We do not allow outside firewood to be brought in, as it can carry pests not native to our area that are destructive. We deliver both fire pits & firewood to your site. We do continue to rent grills & fire pits, as well as sell ice & firewood, after our office/store closes, up until 10 PM. Just call our office at 504-467-1792 to get assistance with that from our night attendant. It will be charged to your site & delivered to you.

Visitor Policy

We require that anyone in our park be registered to a site, due to insurance liabilities. If you have a guest or guests come in while you are here, they must come to the office to get registered, pay a small fee & get a car tag. During special events, the fee is higher for guests. There are also strict rules in place for guests, during special events. If you are here for a special event, we have signs posted during that time, with the rules.

Bathhouse Hours & Info

Our bathhouse is in our main building & open 24/7 with the exception of cleaning. It is closed daily from 12 to 2 PM for cleaning. During that time, we do have a bathroom available in our Rec Hall (toilet only, no shower). There is a handicap-accessible shower, as well as both bathrooms being handicap accessible.

Lodge Policy

We are a smaller city park, therefore we only have 3 lodges. One of them is ADA, with a wheelchair lift. Because we are in the city & have regulations, we are not allowed to, nor do we have, the smaller cabins. Our lodges are deluxe lodges, like small houses, with their own kitchens & bathrooms. They come fully stocked with all linens, dishes, toiletries, coffee, etc. There are strict policies in place. One is the pet policy. There is a non-refundable pet fee. This covers the extra cleaning usually required when there are pets present. We only allow pets in 2 of our lodges. Another policy, is that we charge a security deposit at check-in for every lodge. Once you check out, it is refunded, as long as everything is still present & not damaged. There is an immediate loss of security deposit for any smoking or vaping in our lodges, no exceptions. You receive all of our lodge rules at check-in & must sign them. Since lodges are a HUGE financial investment, we are very strict with our policies with them. Check-out is at 11:30 AM. There is no late check out for lodges, as we only have a few & don't have room to move people around. You can either drop your keys in the box on the porch, or turn them in at the office. Check-in is at 3 PM & rarely available early. If we can make it available early, there is an early check in fee of $20.

Pet Policy

We are pet-friendly, as long as your pet is friendly. Aggressive behavior will not be tolerated. Excessive barking or constant disruption to our other guests will not be tolerated. If you leave & your dogs excessively bark, you will be called to come back. We highly suggest utilizing our dog walking service because of this. We do have a small dog park, where your pets can be let off the leash to run around. You must clean up after them. There is a dog station. Otherwise in the park, pets must be leashed at all times & can not be left unattended outside. This will be strictly enforced. We are in the city & there are leash laws. You can walk them anywhere in the park, as long as they're leashed & you clean up after them. There are dog stations for waste at the dog park, near the laundry room & down by the dumpster. We do not allow pets inside any of our buildings, with the exception of service animals. We are also directly across the street from the famous Mississippi River levee. It has a walking/biking path on top that follows the river. It is a nice place to take your pets, but again, they must be leashed. We do not allow ANY pets in tent sites. We only allow them in our ADA lodges.

Laundry Room Hours & Info

Our laundry room is open 24 hours. It is in its own building, located in the middle of our park. It has an outdoor sink that can be used anytime. It is handicap accessible. It also has a dog station outside. We have a NEWLY added coin machine in our laundry room!!! As we continue to phase out old equipment in our laundry room, we add more new equipment. We now offer a change machine that accepts all small bills ($1-20). You can still get rolls of $10 from our office, or use the coin machine that's available 24 hrs!!!

Speed Limit

We take the safety of our guests, children & pets VERY seriously. For this reason, we have a strict 5 MPH speed limit in our park. If you are speeding, we will ask you to slow down. If we have to continually ask you to slow down, you will be asked to leave. There are children running around playing, that we have to protect.

Rec Hall Hours & Info

Our Rec Hall is open from 8 AM until 10 PM daily. It has puzzles, board games, books, a Wii, foosball & other table games, TVs, DVDs & comfy furniture. It also has a bathroom. DVDs & games, etc. must remain in Rec Hall. You must be 12 or have an adult with you to use the Rec Hall. We do allow this space to be rented out for larger groups, camping together.

Fireworks Policy

We do not allow fireworks, firecrackers or anything of the sort, to be set off in our park. However, because we are an urban park, the week surrounding every major event & every Saints Sunday, fireworks will go off all over the city, including all around our park. Be aware of that, if you or your pets, are sensitive to fireworks. We are a CITY park.

Shuttle Times & Info

Our shuttle runs back & forth to the French Quarter 4 times a day, every day of the year. We do sometimes run only 2, during holidays. We have 2 morning shuttles that go to the French Quarter. One is at 8:30 AM & one is at 10:30 AM. The 8:30 shuttle has a pick-up from the French Quarter at 3:15 PM. The 10:30 shuttle has a pick-up from the French Quarter at 5:15 PM. We also have two afternoon shuttles that go to the French Quarter, at 2:30 & 4:30 PM. Those shuttles do not have a pick-up, as our drivers do not do night time pick-ups. For those shuttles, you have to take a cab or Uber back. Purchase your shuttle tickets in the office. Our shuttle is cash only. We do have an ATM available for all of your cash needs. Our shuttles leave promptly, so you must be at take-off/pick-up points early, to load into the shuttle & leave on time. We do not wait. We do have different times of the year that we offer more than one shuttle, during big events. This year we have them planned for Sugar Bowl, Super Bowl & Jazz Fest.

Flag Policy

We hold with KOA's national flag policy of no confederate flags. As far as other flags, we believe in free speech, thus not limiting other types of flags. We do ask that you be respectful of your neighbors. We will not allow flags or displays of any kind, that are not family friendly.

Tour Desk Hours

Our tour desk is located in our office/store. The hours are the same as our office/store hours. 8 AM to 7 PM, with the exception of major holidays. We work with companies that we trust, that we know are safe, reputable & that we know you're going to have a good time. We book all tours right in our office. We can also get your tickets to places like the zoo, aquarium, WWII museum & much, much more. We give you a map of the French Quarter & go over the whole map with you, showing you our shuttle drop off & pick up point, as well as everything else to see & do in the French Quarter. Our staff is standing by, ready to assist you at all times with questions, bookings, suggestions & helping you plan your whole trip! They are walking tour/restaurant books! Stop in our office to inquire!

Grill Rentals

We have grill rentals for anyone that needs one. You can rent one of ours for the duration of your stay for a low fee. We deliver it to your site.  We also sell in our store, any supplies you may need to use them. None of our sites have grills on them, except our lodges. We do continue to rent grills & fire pits, as well as sell ice & firewood, after our office/store closes, up until 10 PM. Just call our office at 504-467-1792 to get assistance with that from our night attendant. It will be charged to your site & delivered to you.

Ice

We sell ice & deliver it to your site. We do continue to rent grills & fire pits, as well as sell ice & firewood, after our office/store closes, up until 10 PM. Just call our office at 504-467-1792 to get assistance with that from our night attendant. It will be charged to your site & delivered to you.

Dog Walking Hours

Our dog walker usually walks, or takes care of your pups, anytime between 9 AM & 10 PM. Inquire in our office. We will provide you with her card. After you contact her to set up a day/time to meet, she will come over to meet you & your pup(s) & set up the dates/times for walking services. You must set this up in advance. She doesn't take last minute walking jobs, as her schedule is usually full.

RV Wash Hours

RV wash service is usually anytime between 8 AM & before sundown. It is only available certain days. Inquire in our office, where they will give you the info you need. Once you reach out to the wash service, they will set up a day/time with you.

RV Repair Hours

We have several services we use for RV repairs. Our office will provide you with their info. You call them & they will set up a day/time to come out & look at your rig. They will come out & do on site RV repairs, if possible. It is normally during regular business hours.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

We hold with KOA's national cancellation/refund policy. If you cancel by 4PM, 7 days prior to your stay, it is a $20 cancellation fee. Within 7 days, you lose your deposit. For deluxe lodges, you must cancel 14 days prior, to not lose your deposit, as those are harder to fill. We have special cancellation policies in affect for certain major events like Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest & Super Bowl. Please check those dates to read the cancellation policy on those. There are no refunds after a certain date for major festivals like that.

Meet Your Hosts

Michael & Deborah Dunn & Family

Welcome to The Big Easy! We hope you feel at home with us & that you love New Orleans as much as we do! It is our hope to show you how amazing & rich in history, food, music & culture that Nola is!

Our story is one of both a love of KOA and a love of New Orleans. Our journey with KOA began with a stay for our honeymoon in 2000. We fell in love with KOA then. We first became customers, then moved into their work camper program, became managers & are now owners! Our love for KOA & a work camper position, brought us to New Orleans. We have never left! We fell in love with this amazing city! As what we call here in NOLA, transplants, we have immersed ourselves in New Orleans culture. There is no better city for food, music, history, celebrations, festivals, parades & more! This city is alive with history, legends & a mixing bowl of culture! It gets in your soul!!! Our great joy is that we get to help you see the beauty in our city, to help you experience its magic, to help you fall in love with it, as we have! Our park is an extension of our home & we welcome you to it & to a city that doesn't get the nickname "The Big Easy", for nothing! Our heartfelt hope is that you feel at home here & that you discover the reason that they say, "You can live in any city in America, but New Orleans is the only city that lives in you." (Chris Rose).

WELCOME,
Michael, Deborah & Family
