This waterfall drops in multiple cascades from a towering 90-100 feet. While the falls are accessible via 5.6-mile Bald River Falls trail, they can also be viewed directly from Tellico River Road. Plan to arrive early, as parking is limited!

*As of 8/17/24, construction of the Bald River Falls Bridge was still under construction, making the falls inaccessible. Check for updates prior to making the trip.

HELTON CREEK FALLS

Located just one hour from the KOA Murphy/Peace Valley campground, HELTON CREEK FALLS is a not-to-be-missed double-fall experience! The Helton Creek Falls trail is a short .3-mile, easy trek with a big payoff. The upper and lower portions of HELTON CREEK FALLS totals 100 feet including both sections, and cascades to a rock outcrop. The hike is more than worth the view from either of the two observation decks.

HEMLOCK FALLS

What HEMLOCK FALLS lacks in height, totaling only a 15-foot drop, it makes up for in landscape, scenery and ambiance. The Hemlock Falls Trail is a moderate 3.4 miles, winding along the picturesque Moccasin Creek. Bring your water shoes for this hike, as some portions of the trail can pool water during the rainy season. Located just over one hour from the KOA Murphy/Peace Valley campground, HEMLOCK FALLS is well worth the visit!

LEATHERWOOD FALLS

Located in the Fires Creek Recreation Area, LEATHERWOOD FALLS drops 30 feet, flowing into Fires Creek. The falls are viewable from the parking lot, the picnic area and the swimming hole, however, the best views are found along the short, looped trail flanking, and transversing over the falls. Bring the whole family for a picnic, a dip in the water, and a fun-filled hike!

SHOAL CREEK FALLS

This majestic waterfall drops 30 feet, cascading over several rock shelves, creating an incredible scene as the voluminous white water descends. A wooded hike of less than ½ mile from the parking area will lead you to the base of the falls. Just under 30 minutes from the KOA Murphy/Peace Valley campground, SHOAL CREEKS FALLS should not be missed when visiting the area!
