General Campground Information

Wristbands

  • Starting in 2024
  • Wristbands are given to each registered guest with a reservation
  • Wristbands must be worn to receive park amenities & events
  • This ensures outside visitors and state park campers are not using the amenities you have paid for. 

Check In & Check Out

  • Check-out time is by 12:00 noon for everyone
  • Check-in time for RV and Tent sites is 1:00 pm - 9:00 pm
  • Check-in time for Cabins is after 2:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Late Arrival: 
  • If you will be arriving after hours, please have this pre-arranged with the front desk. 

Early Arrival: 
  • We do not pre-reserve early arrivals. 
  • If you want to arrive before the check-in time, please call the night before to arrange. We open at 9:00am which would be the earliest time you could check in.

  1. Tell the front desk how many people there are, how long they are staying, and their first names.
  2. Your site includes 5 people; if you haven't reached this number, your guests will count towards the 5 included. Cost will start at person #6. 
  3. Max of 8 people per site. 
  4. Wristbands for all guests & campers. 
  5. The front desk will make car passes for your guests. 
  6. Visitors are NOT allowed to bring in their own pets
  7. Visitors must exit the park by 9:00 pm. 

Pet Policy

  • We do NOT allow any type of pets/animals to stay in our cabins. 
  • Pets should be kept on a short leash and under control at all times. 
  • Pets that display aggressive behavior will be asked to leave.
  • Pets with excessive barking will be asked to leave.
  • Please clean up after your pet.
  • Pets are NOT allowed in our camp store, bonfire bar, playground, or in the pool area.  
  • Pets should not be left unattended.

Cancellation Policy

RVs & TENTS:
  • 48 HRS OR LESS -Canceling or altering a reservation 48 hours or less from the arrival date results in no refund.
  • OUTSIDE 48 HRS- Canceling outside of 48 hours from the arrival date results in a $10 cancelation fee; the remainder paid will be refunded.  NOTE: If you do NOT receive a cancelation number WITH a cancelation email, you are NOT canceled in our system. 
  • HOLIDAYS- Canceling the reservation 7 days or less from the arrival date will result in no refund. THIS INCLUDES VIP MEMBERS. Canceling outside of 7 days from the arrival date results in a $20 cancelation fee; the remainder paid will be refunded. 

CABINS:

  • 7 DAYS: 7 days' notice for cancelation. You will receive your money back minus $20. If you cancel within 7 days, you lose your first night's deposit.
  • HOLIDAYS: Canceling 14 days or less will result in losing the first night's deposit. Canceling outside of 14 days, you will get your money back minus $20 cancelation fee. 

Altering Reservations

  • Call us anytime to make changes to your reservation to move, add, or subtract days.
  • A reservation's dates cannot be changed to a new week inside the cancelation window listed above.
  • Changing dates within the window will result in a cancelation (forfeit one night's deposit) and having to make a new reservation.

Spring Hours April 1 - May 22:

  • Monday - Wednesday, 9:00 am to 7:00 pm 
  • Thursday - Saturday, 9:00 am to 9:00 pm 
  • Sundays 8:00 am to 5:00 pm 

Summer Hours May 23 - September 1: 
  • Everyday 9:00 am - 9:00 pm

Fall Hours September 2 - October 27: 
  • Monday - Wednesday, 9:00 am to 7:00 pm 
  • Thursday - Saturday, 9:00 am to 9:00 pm 
  • Sundays 8:00 am to 5:00 pm 

Pool Hours: 
  • Memorial Day Weekend until Labor Day Weekend 
  • 9:00 am to 9:00 pm 
  • Children under 15 need to be supervised at all times 

Site Guarantee

  • Lock a specific site for $25 per reservation.
  • This can be done online by clicking the blue button "Select My Site".

Site Occupancy Policy

  • Each RV site is designed for a maximum of 1 Recreational vehicle (RV).
  • Tents are not permitted on any RV sites in addition to and RV except on XL yard sites. Our XL yard sites allow up to 1 RV and 1 tent. 
  • Tent sites may have a maximum 2 tents but must stay within site boundaries.
  • This is the state of Ohio and fire department rules for safety to be able to get in and out to each site in case of an emergency. 

Quiet Time & Courtesy

Quiet Hours Are From 11:00 pm - 8:00 am
  • What Does Quiet Time Mean?
  • Turning off radios and music
  • Bringing conversations/laughter down to a respectful volume. 
  • Children are back at their campsite. 

Camper Courtesy
  • The running of generators is not permitted. We offer electricity at every campsite. 
  • Please do not walk through other campers' sites as a shortcut.
  • Please clean up after your pets. There are complimentary doggy waste bags located at the dog park. 
  • Music playing during the day should only be loud enough for you to enjoy, not surrounding campers. 

Golf Carts & Rentals

BRINGING YOUR OWN:
  • You are more than welcome to bring your own golf cart.
  • We allow electric or gas at no extra charge. 

RENTAL CARTS:

  • We rent electric 4 seater golf carts by the day.
  • Pick up at 9:00 am - 9:00 pm (all carts must be returned by 9p) 
  • You must be 21+ to rent and drive rental carts (these are policies put in place by the cart company we lease from).

Trash

  • Dumpsters are located by the maintenance barn 
  • NO MATTRESSES OR APPLIANCES
  • We will pick up trash from the end of your site twice per day between 9-9:30am & 8:30-9:00pm

Pool Area

  • Our pool is open from Memorial Day Weekend - Labor Day Weekend each year. 
  • Hours: 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. 
  • Children under 14 must be with an adult.
  • We do not allow glass in our pool area.
  • Please leave rafts and inner tubes at your home pool! 

5 MPH and Your Vehicles

  • They are constantly campers walking around our park so we have a 5 MPH speed limit. Please watch your speed and don't be upset if we ask you to slow down. 
  • Washing your car, bike or RV is allowed Sunday-Thursday. Please warn your neighbor before and be curteous of their camping experience.
  • RV, Tent and cabin spaces are designed to accommodate 2 vehicles. If you have additional vehicles please use our designated parking lots. NEVER park in an unoccupied site without asking first, there is a good chance it will be occupied by another guest. 

Cellular Service & WiFi

Although we wish we were located in the mountains, we are surrounded by cornfields in flat Ohio which means... we have great cell service! We also offer complimentary WiFi for basic internet usage. Our WiFi can tend to slow down on busy weekends and is not meant to be used for streaming.

The Hanawalt Family

Helping Families Make Memories Since 2000!

Mt. Gilead KOA is owned and operated by the Hanawalt Family - Chip, Bambi, and their children, Haley & Chip Jr.
The park was purchased in 2019 as a golf course and broke ground in May 2019, turning it into a beautiful KOA. We opened our doors to our first customers in July of 2020 and have continued to improve the grounds each year to make it a place for families to enjoy and relax!

We spent 22 years building and creating Sunbury/Columbus KOA, which we sold in December of 2021. We plan to build up and put our "Hanawalt touch" on Mt. Gilead KOA. 

We are excited for this new family adventure to help create memories for you and your family. We Hope To See You Soon!
